I have this problem but I have to admit the worst part is people keep quitting I almost won then half the people quit so we lost. As of right now I hate Turn10 and pg for locking such an amazing car behind an impossible event.
I must have attempted this bs event at least 20 times and it’s always that either the Drivatards ram me or people quit. I think people should be punished for quitting because it is ruining the game for everyone else who actually tries to win no matter what. Turn10 & Playground games…you should be ashamed of yourselves. I want that car really bad I’ve attempted the event so many times but it’s impossible to win unless you have a team full of amazing racers.
To anyone who has completed this event, any tops? Is there a car that handles better than others? Trying to get the Apollo but dang it this race is like bloody bumper cars. Team mates keep ramming you as if it’s necessary for them to be in first. It’s a team event. If we work as a team we can complete it. If everyone keeps ramming one another no one will get the bloody car lol
Porsche 918 Spyder with my own “Spring Trial” 998 tune and TC & SC Off!
Took me around 10 tries with various other cars, including the Veneno, Centenario, Agera RS etc, but it was the Porsche 918 with the above that did it for me in the end.
Saying that, I think it was still a bit of luck that I got a mixture or decent, non-ramming team mates and some really bad Driveretards that took up the last four places of the races.
Glad I saw this, I was going to hop on Horizon to get the Apollo for my collection as the trials in the past haven’t been too bad. The fact alone they put this on unbeatable difficulty is beyond me, let alone S2 with rain/street racing. I am going to save myself the frustration and pass.
Honestly what people are making these decisions, do they actually play test these challenges before they are posted?
I think they do them and then just set back and laugh at the results of the comments on here and places like Reddit and Facebook. It is these types of things why I answered Retro Ckrystal with my 3 words of “My Last Horizon”
Why don’t you all just send friend requests to each other and team up together instead of complaining to one another and banging your head against a rock wall (aka Randoms)?
Form some friendships and do all future Trials and Playgrounds together. Eliminate the unknown of randoms. Play with skilled players.
Whenever I see S2 Trial I already know I am going to pair up with 2 other teammates so that the randoms have zero effect on the outcome.
If you have no friends to play with start sending convoy requests to any competent player you meet in the Trial. Hit pause go to the player lobby list select the player and invite to convoy. Then try the next trial together. If you see more competent players, then invite them as well, until you have enough competent drivers together to win the event.
Now, if you are the player at the bottom, this may be tougher to accomplish, but if you are better than average, you should have no problem finding willing people that are in the same boat as you. And heck you may form a lasting friendship that you schedule to convoy with every week…
How about just team up with likeminded friends instead of getting teamed up with 12ies who just want to crash and bash you and its very easily done…unless you’re the weakest link
I completely agree with everything said. This is by far the worst experience I have had yet in this game. I’ve gotten rammed off the road more by my own team mates than the drivatards, and everyone quits the game. In the rain, at night, and a street race against unbeatable. Either I won’t be able to own one of the coolest cars in the game, or I will have to resort to using nearly all my credits in the AH to get one…
I don’t know why I keep buying Forza games. I have everyone (except Forza 7) since the original. But, this most likely will be my last. I don’t like being forced to play online to be able to get t he things I want.
Having completed this week Trial championship, it took me 3 tries to win:
The 1st team didn’t perform well such as missing checkpoints and hitting traffic and objects. All 5 teammates abandoned the championship just as the final race was beginning. I decided to pick a different car and grab a tune for it in order to stand a better chance against the drivatars. The result was an 0-3 sweep.
Team 2 also performed poorly though they performed better than team 1 in that they had a chance at winning the 2nd race though we went 0-2 so I decided to quit and matchmake for a 3rd team.
Team 3 lost the first race just like the first 2 with 2 people quitting after the opening race though I was able to do well in the first 2 races which helped my team to win race 2. The 3rd race came down to the wire as I hit an object which allowed a drivatar to pass me prior to the finish line. It appeared that we would lose by 50 points until a teammate was able to pass 2 drivatars which resulted in a close 2-1 win.
Some tips for Trial championships:
If your car isn’t able to keep up with the AI, consider switching cars and/or tunes as certain tunes and vehicles can go fast while having excellent handling abilities.
Learn the tracks and the conditions, knowing the 3 tracks well can allow one to recognize which turns can be taken at a high speed and which turns require one to be careful. This can help one reduce the amount of mistakes they make.
Do not expect to win at first: Given matchmaking can place poorly skilled players on your team, it is normal for one to lose a few tries at first due to some players trying to shove their way to the front which can cause their teammates to wind up in an accident.
Be careful driving: The Drivatars and your team can be driving aggressively which makes it difficult to pass the AI as some races can devolve into a demolition derby. The rain, traffic, and the lower visibility of night races can make it difficult to go fast as one has to be able to avoid traffic, know how to drive in rain, and be able to deal with night racing.
It is better to be consistently good all 3 races and give your team a good chance at beating the drivatars via solid clean driving than placing 1st in one race at the expense of your team.
From what I’ve noticed, the 2018 Apollo Intensa Emozione is an extreme track toy car that offers excellent handling when tuned to X class.
Does one think that one should try it in the one:1? [Koenigsegg] Or does one recommend another one over this one? [car] I’m sorry, but I’m feeling childish after spending time around so many five year olds [it seems] in the Trial.
I think they need to gift us the car (like they did with the Mosler) to make up for this abysmal event. Its just too hard to complete due to bugs with the Drivatards and the overall difficulty of the event (due to weather, event type and bugs) let’s get this whole thread seen by turn10 and PG and hopefully they will see how much they have annoyed their customers
I got it! Got lucky to be thrown in with other team players. Minimal bumping, and lots of “GO!” Lol I wish u all the best of luck. I used my Bugatti Chiron. Was doing well with my Centenario as well but had ramming teammates at the time.
Just won this, I won all 3 races. I used the Centenario, my tune is shared as “Best S2 Wet Road”. Just err on the side of caution - the car is very good, but the biggest risk on those courses at that speed is making a huge mistake, so drive within yourself, it doesn’t need a world class rivals leaderboard level of speed to win it. It has very good launch at the start, the secret is to get ahead of the AI at the start, then park it on every apex to hold them up to give your teammates more of a chance.
Exactly this. I’ve won 3 out 3 trials as helping other players out. Yes you get ramming but by 2nd to 3rd corner those idiots are normally off track anyway.
These are standard S2 street scene tracks so there’s nothing new. Brake a bit earlier and you’re all good to counter the wet. You should be hitting 1st or 2nd place easily within the first 4-5 corners with judicial braking and coasting into the apex to get the hammer down coming out.
1st time round I had an old Porsche 918 winter tune. 2nd & 3rd was a Senna tuned for wet. The 3rd one 4 players bugged out after race one so dragged the remaining player through as they were running a poorly tuned 918 (S2 942).
Hang in there, drive well and stop the wah wah give me a participation trophy bollocks.
