To those who own wheels...

I’m thinking of getting one, so I have a few questions…

What wheel do you have?
Do you think it was worth it in terms of making the game more fun/immersive?
Did it improve your leaderboard times?

Any other advice/info you guys may have would be v useful too!

What wheel do you have? Thrustmaster TX
Do you think it was worth it in terms of making the game more fun/immersive? Absolutely!
Did it improve your leaderboard times? Yep!

If you get the TX, be sure to spend the extra money for the GTE add-on rim - MUCH better than the stock 458 rim.

I also have the Thrustmaster TX, now I have the settings to my liking it certainly does make the experience more immersive, highly realistic especially at the 'ring it seems. The strength of the force feedback is quite a shock at first this wheel will actively fight back!

My leaderboard times are pretty much the same with pad or wheel, on some tracks I’m quicker with the one or the other but usually less than a second in it. The wheel wins for fun every time though.

I have the TX from the first batch. Base just died a week ago, they were quick to ship out a replacement base. Pedals are horrible (accel pedal is springed WAY to heavily and brake has no feel), original wheel was very notchy around the center, new wheel base is not notchy and has an external PSU.

For pedals you can either look for the ones from the RS500 or get the basher boards adapter to run the Fanatec pedals with the TX base.

Force feedback is non-adjustable other than the in-game sliders, and you need to crank it down to 20% or less to keep it from actively working against you.

Overall I feel it is a step down (overall not just FFB quality potential) from the Fanatec CSR (XBox 360 whee) for more money.

All of that being said, it is your best option right now for the XBox One and I would buy it again without reservation.

Only 20%? I’m using 60% with 330 DOR and feels great!

I use 75% for Vibration.
I use 100% for force feedback
All cars R Class and lower, I use 540 DOR.
For P & X Class Indy, Formular & Prototypes I use 330 DOR.

I use 75% vibration
65% force feedback
All road cars I use 900DOR (same when drifting)
GT/touring/aus V8’s cars I use 510DOR
Formula/prototypes I use 300DOR

I tried 65% FFB. Just wasn’t strong enough for me. I actually enjoy fighting the wheel. But to each’s own.

I also prefer D-B Class & the Indy/Formula/Prototypes.

I have Thrustmaster TX.
I love it!
On tracks I love, I’m in the 200-300 range in C Class.
I have one from launch & haven’t had problems yet. Love the FFB & vibration. I haven’t played Forza with a controller since part 1.

I have the tx with the new t3pa set. I will at some point get the gte rim. I owned a full fanatec elite set on forza 4 and im having just as much fun with the tx . Id say i actualy prefer the tx on performance but not in the looks department.
Now iv finnaly been able to use a clutch again im running a second or more faster than auto clutch and im more than happy with that.
Cant wait to get my hands on a shifter for this .

I have a Thrustmaster TX and absolutely love it. I just got the Forza 5 Edition Playseat so it is MUCH more immersive. I cannot play with a controller because all I’ve ever known with racing simulators is the wheel. The question of “Is it worth it?” is relative to your preference and funding. When I bought the Xbox One, I purchased a wheel at the same time because I am fortunate enough to have a good job and be able to play the games in the way I enjoy them the most. I have a couple top 100 times with it and although you can’t turn instantly all the way to the left or right (like with a controller) I consider it to be much, much smoother than any other way to race.

I forgot to mention that I have both the GTE and F1 add on rims. The F1 is my fav. The overall shape allows me to do sharp steering with ease. Example, I easily nail last turn at Long Beach using F1 better than I do with GTE or especially original rim.

My opinion F1>GTE>Original Rim
