There are regular racing tires for cars that normally have that option. Snow tires simply replaces the offroad/rally tires selections.
The whole winter tyre thing is handled poorly here, especially when using other people’s locked tunes. It’s almost as annoying as the weather tbh. Driving along a frozen lake with snow covered trees when the weather is sunny and temp is 8c? Really?

That was my point brother, most tire compound upgrades allow you to choose either off-road or snow tires. so why would the game automatically change them from off-road to snow and visa-versa like it did on Blizzard Mountain.
Well, Horizon has always been far from realistic and full of arcadey elements, to be fair.
I think the game has a setup where the rally/offroad tires from the other seasons are automatically changed to “winter use” tires in winter but like race compound tires in the other seasons there is a “Snow/Race” tire upgrade that is available for all cars as an upgrade.
Agree there should be an easier way to select this.
I hope Turn 10 Fix that Problem. Add a Option in the Menu for autochange to winter tires for Winter Events and Winter Sessions and back to normal. For all Cars.
Off-road tires do change to Snow tires with the season change.
So why have 2 different selections to choose from then??
I guess the studded snow tire took up the space used for what we called online multiplayer!!

Do Race Tyres still Forzamagically change to wet tyres when it rains in Horizon?
The Race tires in Horizon are not the same full slick Race tires as Forza Motorsport. They are already a Rain ready compound.

In Forza Motorsport the race tyres were rain ready and didn’t need to be changed.
Same applies for FH4, my friend.

Honestly, I wish they made it simple when it came to tires, even on locked tunes you download from others. Before a race, there should just be an option for street/drag/offroad/winter tires - tunes can have their default, but you should be able to just swap them per track and season. Ugh.

Tyres change the PI of the car, so it can’t be a simple selection as that could make the car invalid for the race requirements.
Off road tyres = Winter tires on the Winter season
You can use normal tyres on winter, but of course the car will slide a lot and / or be very very difficult to control.
the Snow-Tyres are Offroad-Tyres. No need to put them on street cars. in the winter. You can still win every street-race against unbeatable without changing tyres, same easy like in summer.
So what happens if during the winter season i want to enter a race created with blueprint or route creator that is for example a summer rally race and i want to put rally tires on my car, i can’t. Rally tires aren’t automatically equipped so what tires are on my car in that situation exactly. Do winter tires turn into rally/off road tires when i enter a rally or off road race, it would be good if the game would let the player know this when they enter a race during winter that isn’t a winter race.
You have rally tires then. Winter tires are changed in rally/offroad tires when you drive outside of winter. And actually if you look closely when that animation rolling before race you can see that your car dont have winter tires when game loads summer race. I have last 4 days tested my rally tunes with summer/spring blueprints without any problems.
Fun fact, there’s a “bug” where if you finish a team adventure with rally tires, you will spawn even into winter freeroam with rally tires.
But then the Capri FE would become worthless…
