More Tire compound options

The game is in desperate need of more options for tires, especially if the PI restrictions are going to remain so broad.

Builders and tuners need more granular control over grip, and we especially need more downgrade options for cars that can’t make it to the top of the PI restriction they start in.

The current options leave very little wiggle room in terms of compound choice, and the fact that picking sports compound is just throwing makes it all worse. In fact I could go on for a while about how the tire balance in this game is horrible, but more options could help with future balance (if not for this game than the next, I understand that we’re kind of “locked in” no matter how terrible the balance is).

Having the option to put licensed branding on the sides of tires would also be nice.

No, the available types of tires are ok and a repesentation of what you’ll find in reality.

The problem is their representation in the game is simply wrong when it comes to grip-levels and the advantages and disadvantages of the different types. A car with slicks for example would drive circles around something even more powerful with UHPs (Ultra High Performance) on a track. But in this game a car with offroad tires can still beat one with slicks on asphalt due to the lousy PI balance and wrong physics implementation.

I actually don’t know why offroad tires and such are even allowed to be used in races on asphalt. It simply shouldn’t be possible to bring a car with anything else than the actually suiting types of tires (factory, sports, semis, slicks). Doing so would get rid of a lot of PI and general balancing issues. But nah, that’s obviously to realistic, not inclusive enough…yaddayadda.

Honestly a combination of what you suggest with fixing the physics and the PI balance (particularly with offroads) and the implementation of my other suggestion (more PI restrictions) would solve all of my current issues and make this suggestion moot.

But we’re kind of locked into the current physics/pi until the next game unfortunately, and I’ll take a terrible solution over no solution at all.

I doubt they couldn’t adjust the physics if they wanted to. It’s basically just changing certain values. The same goes for not allowing certain types of tires to be used in certain types of races. It’s simply negligence and/or incompetence on their side.

I think it’s less about ability and more about the fact that the backlash that the casual crowd would have at waking up to find all their tunes suddenly out of whack and the physics of certain tires changed.

Sad to say, but it would dwarf any kind of ruckus the hardcore players could kick up. Changing the physics and PI definitely is feasible from a coding and programming perspective, but from a business perspective it’s not feasible. You’d be losing a lot of fans in order to appease a vocal minority. Even if it is the right decision, it’s not a very smart one.

I think there should be front and rear tyre options separately to increase stability in many builds

A rear wheel drag car for example why would you need drag tyres on front as this completely ruins the balance and it makes it impossible to do anything other than straight line. I know that sounds stupid being “drag tires” but highway runs from stand still is impossible in most rear wheel without them to even compete

I have requested this for many many years.

Although developers add cars with branded tyres on, some of the vehicles in car pass or season objectives, sometimes these tyres are not the best for the car in terms of the performance we want and we have to go with the plain and dull looking tyres we are given out the box.

Tyre branding/stickers on the tyre wall add such character to a car. Being able to colour code with callipers, vinyls, wheels and car colour itself.

I am unaware who T10 & and PG get their tyre data from, it used to be Pirelli a few games back they revealed if that is a hurdle with putting other brands layers on a tyre with telemetry that is owned by Pirelli I don’t know.

Why not allow us to add layers to all the tyre options we have, so we can add whatever brand or tyre wall designs we desire? If it’s a feasible possibility?

I was thinking the same thing and searched for previous suggestion.
Filter options for road/off road tyres too and rally/Gymkhana style tyre brandind decals like you see on Rally cars or the Ken Block videos . .

u should do all terrain
