Add tire lettering and customization in Designs & Paints

The ‘Horizon’ semi-slick race tire has the same function as the semi-slick without the ‘Horizon’ name making them useless. That said, this customization could be in the designs and paintings mode, being able to put any logo on the tires, such as, for example, the Goodyear Eagle tires :wheel:

Good idea, also would be nice to change individual rims/wheel colors

that does make since, then you can customize tire lettering. Because what if you wanted white letters on your rally tires right…

this can work on how the tire customization works in NFS heat.

You have the actual performance upgrade of your tires, giving you more/less grips on different terrains, but then you’d have the “tire lettering” customization on the appearance section/design & paints, which would only be a cosmetic mod and not an actual upgrade.

here is a very interesting customization option

I would not remove the Forza Tires entirely. But it would be nice to have additional options. Like the Goodyear tires or the Michelin ones we have seen on some cars. And yeah, Toyo Tires, Hankook and more. Maybe just tire stickers to chose from. That would be really cool!:+1:

I really want this feature.
For example, currently, if you want tires with redlines or lettering, semi-slick tires are a must.
However, these tires add a lot of PI, so if you try to build a balanced car that can actually be used in a race while installing these tires, it will inevitably be a Class A or higher car.

A new tyre vinyl section would be great. The devs also have this since we see custom Good Year tyres and the Aston Martin Vulcan Pro has custom race tyres too with white marks on them. So the devs can add textures to tyres, but the players can’t yet.

With this new vinyl section you could have a whole new way of customizing your car. You can draw whatever you want on your tyres which also means LESS licensing instead of having to sit down with Good Year, Pirelli, Yokohama, RWB (Idlers), etc. The players can add their own custom made logo’s.

Custom made logos for your tires does sound quite difficult to implement, the best way to do it (at least for the recent fh games) is to customize the tires that we already have, as an example:

  • Being able to change the color of the redline in the HotWheels tires, the yellow lettering on the Goodyear tires.

Main issue here is licensing and if those brands would accept such feature

Why is it difficult? The devs are able to put whatever they want on it too, so why shouldn’t we? Forza would be one of the most creative games on the market if they did that

The implementation of making the different tires a visual customization, therefore making it availabile to almost every car is not difficult (at least I think).

Full customizable tire lettering, being able to add every brand and/or design you want on a tire would be difficult on itself to work for the devs, nothing is made out of thin air or magic, so it would need a lot of work, planning and testing that would go on this feature.

This is what I wanted to come post about. Theres only a couple cars that get the good year eagle tire option. 88 monte carlo is one i know for sure. But not for the car built specifically for nascar, the dodge daytona? Its really irritating. Even the Gran National was in nascar. It should have it too.

They should add Toyo tires and Michelin they look so good with widebody customizations. They should add those brands and also letters, lines.

Tire liscensing, get the liscensing of as much tire brands as forza can get and give us the options to choose from all of them, also please do not forget the beloved “honda racing” tire lettering

This is such a great idea! I love my D through A class cars and would greatly appreciate being able to put tire designs onto slower cars and dirt tires!

If licensing is a concern then they could simply give us a couple of different “Forza” or “Horizon” styled tires like we already have then let us choose which tire compound to slap them onto. Then give us the option to choose the color for the lettering.

Going one step further, why not do the same with whitewalls? Give us a couple options for the thickness of the stripe then let us color those as well. Anything from a solid painted sidewall to the thin lines of the redline tires.

Licensed brands would be cool and all but I’d happily take something over nothing.

It is a good idea…
Here my opinion about it.
When taking into consideration about trademark licenses for developers would take more time, here is my suggestion. An option could be added that, when selecting a type of rim for your desired tuning (street, sports, sliks, etc.) they are of the same special type as the “Forza Horizon”, vintage rims, whiteface rims etc. That is to say, that a button is implemented as in the paint customization with the “+” symbol when selecting the desired tires for your car. As an example, I would like to have a car that does not exceed PI class “D” but with Red Lines or Forza Horizon type tires. In this case you should have a tuneup with street type tires or even stock ones, but the game doesn’t allow you to do this at the moment. So by adding the “+” option in street type tires you could select the desired tire but only with the wheel design without exceeding the “D” class. Another example would be… A classic car or any other in “A” or “s” class in PI stock would normally come with “sports or semi-sliks” type tires but maybe I would like the car to have vintage or white faced type tires, then the option would come in from “+” where the toolbox is indicating that they are stock tires, from here select the desired type of tire, but without losing the performance of the car or improving it.

There has been talk about bringing branded tires like Pirelli, toyo tires, falken, etc. But this does depend on licenses with the brands so that they give permission to advertise them in this game. It seems a little more likely to bring the tires from previous installments such as Michelin, Goodyear, BF Goodrich, etc. If they were to be introduced in this installment, then we hope that they will also be optional tires as I have mentioned before, that you can select this type of tires with an advertising brand such as “street, sports, semi-sliks, sliks, for Rally, for snow or for Off Road”. Since I believe they are the tires that come without some type of drawing different from each other without affecting the PI class. I hope you can understand the idea, if not; feel free to challenge this suggestion.

Exactly what it sounds like. The option to create our own tire texts and designs. This has always been something that’s bugged me about Horizon. Some livery designs really only come together when the tires also have some text or a design on them, but the only tires that feature this are the Goodyear tires that only exist on, like, two cars out of 650+, and the second-best performing tires with the Forza Horizon text on them. I think we should have more options in how our tires should be able to look.

Here’s something else the truck simulator games do better. Not only can you choose from a wide variety of tire lettering but you can also use custom colors on these designs.

Even GTA not so long ago put in options for yellow, green and red sidewall lettering.

Further in agreement, why do those fancy racing tires only work on a very small number of cars? Both the yellow Goodyears and the other racing slicks which are only available on certain race vehicles.

I’d also really like to have the option to include (colorable) sidewall options on non-racing tires so we could build up fancier looking lower class vehicles.

As you read the title you may be thinking, “y’know we already have tire lettering its on the Forza Semi slicks”
and I know that’s cool and all but I was making some race cars and wanted tire lettering on them naturally
Then it struck
me we don’t have tire lettering on the actual race slick tire, so I think it would be cool to have custom tire lettering because who doesn’t want the brigh words pirreli on their race car.

Like this idea a lot! Fireprofcargo posted in reddit today a way to slowly work and implement it. Forza tire letters and decals are just images overlayed in the tires so having the ability to paint the image a solid colour would be a good start.
