Thrustmaster TMX issue

Hey all,

I’ve owned the thrustmaster TMX for a little under a month now. Forza 6 is an amazing experience with the wheel however I am having a very hard time finding a good setting in horizon 3. The wheel doesn’t oscillate or feel unresponsive, it just shakes ( kind of like a vibrate ) when turning slightly left or right at low speeds, high speeds, and drifting. If I watch the front tires in game they are also shaking rapidally in either direction.

Any settings suggestions? Such a fun game but so frustrating when the wheel feels like trash

Thanks

I think some have mentioned they feel like there’s a dead zone near the center resulting in delayed response at high speeds, or counter steering. Different players use different settings to compensate what they feel is off. You can try playing with the settings too, such as lowering the outer steering dead zone, which reduces wheel rotation but increases response. Or increasing self centering force to better feel your turning force required, although this setting will inversely affect your drifting ability for quick turning. Some players even have profiles for different driving, drifting etc.

For me, I find that said ‘dead zone’ differs with the weight of the car, the grip and the speed, so it could well be a programmed variable, and can be somewhat compensated for with the car setup and tune. An example is having wider tires also reduces it to some extent, or at least how it feels to me.

So try everything, be it settings, or car setups, what works for one may differ from another’s.
