TMX Steering Wheel Not Working. [XBOX ONE]

I’ve been playing the full game for a while now, and I’ve notice that my wheel setup is not working at all.

(Thrustmaster TMX, TH8A shifter, T3PA pedals.)

Every time I try to use it, it’s completely glitched. The game simply does not take my inputs, and when it does the wheel sounds like it’s grinding and there’s a massive dead zone, as in turning it 45 degrees in either direction does nothing, even though it’s set to 0 inner dead zone.

Sometimes it works decently, but then stops working when I restart it or turn on my gamepad, sometimes the wheel works but the pedals/shifter don’t.

I’m an avid wheel user, and all of these things make it nigh impossible and infuriating to play the game, having to do multiple tedious tasks for it to randomly start half-working.
I always end up just playing on a controller instead, and feeling like I’m missing out.

I’ve been loving the game, but not being able to play on it with a wheel is just annoying.

*Note; the wheel, pedals and shifter are not second hand, and are in perfect working order.

That’s weird, I have the same system without the shifter and aside from the vibration setting not working everything else seems to be fine with mine.

I have the same issue as the OP, massive dead zone in the centre. Wheel is fine with all other Forza titles. I’m open to any suggestions on how to resolve this. On XB1X. Thanks.

Try dropping DOR to 360 and linearity to 45 and reboot xbone ,start game with wheel and what mode are you using? I prefer 1 or 2 ,the mode is on the wheel itself .

same problem here…when i switched to the james bond bmw z28, the wheel becomes horribly sloppy and just won’t steer the car. I have the DOR down to 270. Totally sloppy, car won’t turn;. I have experimented with the linearity too. Nothing seems to work.

Yep…switched to windows 10 version…no problem. Microsoft changed some type of setting when Spring came out. I had the Thrustmaster rotation angle set in their control paned to 270 and switched the linearity to 45. I started getting podium finishes in the solo championships again.

On the XB1X I plugged the wheel in before firing up the game, that seems to have resolved the deadzone issue for me (thanks freshbarley). On other Forza titles I could plug it in on the fly and it would work normally. Anyway, hope this helps someone. Awesome game with a wheel.

Why does it take a friggin day for my posts to appear, annoying.

2 updates ago it started. if i use my controller while wheel is plugged in it would make this awful grinding noise when starting game. i would have to unplug it, and try plugging it back in. i found i could use the wheel if i started the game by using the wheel. this most recent update broke it even further. now it makes a grinding noise that is slowly breaking my wheel. i unplug it, and plug it back in to sign in. today i have the deadzone, so i will try to restart it with the wheel plugged in and hope it doesnt make that grinding sound. its going to break my doggone wheel if they do not just fix the problem???

i started game with wheel without my controller on, and it worked right. though i can hear some grinding jumping dunes from the times it has been grinding for 10 secs a go, before i get to it to unplug it. its sending a signal my wheel can not interpret and just buzzes and grinds till i unplug it when it happens. hopefully this method will work till it is fixed one day?
