I’m playing with the Thrustmaster TMX Racing Wheel.
Everything works but it makes strange noises or is stuttering. At first I thought, that the wheel got a problem but I’ve tested FH3 and there, everything is fine!
When I make very little movements with the wheel (only +/- 5 degrees) it is something like vibrating or maybe I can describe it as rough force feedback corrections.
I’ve tested all options and now I have the same setup as in FH3 but it not the same. It just doesn’t feel good.
I’m having the same problem with the Thrustmaster TX Racing Wheel Ferrari 458 Italia Edition. Has worked perfectly for 3 years with Horizon 2 and 3 but with 4 the wheell continually vibrates. I had the same problem when Forza 7 came out, but I was able to get it stop using the advanced settings. I noticed it first on Horizon 4 with the demo when it came out. I was able to make it drivable by changing the advanced settings. The next time I drove the demo, there was a small update that happened so assumed it was a correction of the issue; instead it was infinitely worse, and I couldn’t make it stop no matter what changes I made. I stopped play the demo with the wheel, it was that bad.
When I got the prerelease, I did the opening sequence without any changes so I thought they had fixed it, but, after the opening sequence and Drive through the 4 seasons, it is worse than ever.
Since the physics engine in Horizon 4 is based on the one in Forza 7, I tried the same settings, but didn’t clear it up. The vibration also seems to change depending on the car… I don’t have many cars yet, but they all exhibit the same problem, to varying degrees with the 69 Charger being the worse.
The really odd thing is that the vibration continues, even after you stop driving. At this point the degree of vibration depends on what surface you stop on. If you are on pavement, the vibration is minimal, on grass its worse, on gravel or cobblestones it’s even worse, and remember, this is with the car stopped!
I don’t understand how such a glaring problem made it into the demo, let alone making it worse in the release version! That’s $130 wasted as far as I’m concerned. Yes, I got the game 4 days early, but it is unusable with my racing seat. Not even the controller action is the same. With these settings I could solve the problem and it came out, that the “Damper” setting seems to make the problems. In FH2 + 3 I had no problems with this option!
My most pressing problem was the extreme, constant vibration of the the steering wheel (Thrustmaster TX Racing Wheel) whether you were driving or standing still. After resetting the defaults and making changes based on Blu0028’s recommendations, I found that these settings have stopped the vibration so it feels more like FH2 and 3.
Vibration - 30
FFB - 75
Spring -65
Damper - 65
FFB Understeer - 50
FFB Min Force - 55
Wheel Rotation - 300
This doesn’t address the drift problem and other issues, but at least I can tolerate driving now, long enough to try and sort out the other stuff
Hi
My new to Xbox downloaded the online for a horizon 4 and my thrustmaster thx will not work with it
The x box selection key the big x in the side works fine but the x y a and b keys and the wheel does not respond to anything
