There’s terrible latency in steering response when playing from the cloud. For most games it wouldn’t be a problem. For FH5 driving down a straight became an exercise in futility. Side to side correction started side slap hysteresis. The steering latency made drifting completely impossible.
I was having the same troubles with MotoGT so I suspect it was all due to the same latency issues.

It’s weird though (or I’m missing something, probably something obvious lol) that FH5 is reportedly bug free in Cloud play but bug metropolis installed.
EDIT… hmm, or could it be that Cloud play loads a generation specific game that makes it bug free ? While the installed version is the full multigeneration build chock full of “features” ?

I believe everything Microsoft publishes is “permanent beta” until it is classified as EOL.

Well the cloud version is definitely a different version because it would have to run from the server side. So it’s probably fine tuned to the server specific hardware. It would also be a pc type version (I’m guessing). I would call the latency issue a pretty big bug. Also, I only did the 20 pt MacMeal deal from the cloud so there could be bugs I’ve missed out on.

Cash them in before the switch in September yeah, supposedly they’ll honor them at a 1 to 1 conversion. Or (still worked when I pulled the pin a month back) pre-pay up to 3 years of Gold and switch to Ultimate and get about a 4 to 3 conversion (I think ?) which if I did the maths right is a small savings. Of course the same announcement also broke the news about the price for Ultimate going up… sigh. But surely they’ll honor the pre-pay I already have at 1 to 1… right ?
Hmm, I wonder what they will do with Gold cards after the switch ? Honor them as Core at 1 to 1 ?
Whats your connection and do you use 5gz or 2.4? I just tried both nfs unbound and horizon 5 on my phone and there was zero input lag. Was just like playing on my xbox but on my phone

3:2 gold to GPU atm.
Hopefully the keep the gold to core 1:1 and the GPU conversion the same. If not I’m screwed, have 3 years of gold waiting to be used when my sub is up end of sept.
Reddit seems to think cancel the end of aug before the change to core in case conversions change again

@G923Logitech , I’m in Hawaii, The Big Island, so unless Microsoft has a server farm on Oahu, (everything here goes through Oahu). My signal goes through a 2700 plus mile underwater fiberoptic cable. If I’m lucky. If not it goes through an old copper cable of the same length. Plenty of time for signal lag given the pleasure of living in paradise.

Hawaii is the most remote location in the world. It’s hard to imagine the engineering to lay 2600 miles of cable along the floor of the ocean.
Distance from Iceland to John o’ Groats is only 670 some miles. But New York to London is around 3500 miles. I wonder how many miles of cable criss cross the ocean floors?

I’ve gotten a lot of great information from this thread and I want to thank everyone for that. Really happy I didn’t just lose 100+ hours of progress and 720 cars.
So, this leaves me in a tough spot. I guess I have to reinstall this disaster (though I can’t decide if I even want to now…). The game itself took 10 hours to install on my Xbox One S, Rally took 6 hours, and HW took 3. Keep in mind the 10 hours was when the game had no series updates to install back in 2021.
My XB1 will stay on for about an hour before it shuts itself down and goes to sleep. Do I have to pull an all-nighter to reinstall this crap, or do games still continue installing/updating when Xbox is asleep?

I had the same issue when downloading games. I set my Xbox sleep time to about 2-4 hours, then went to bed. That worked, but I ended up getting my Xbox hardwired internet. Now they install pretty fast.

That one should be scrollable and zoom over the whole world. It’s more representative than factual as to accuracy of cable placement though.
