Really though ? A full GB to fix one simple save issue ? Iā€™d love to see the coding.

iā€™m on PC and my game wonā€™t update. after reinstalling ā€œMicrosoft Visual C++ 2015 UWP Desktop Runtime Packageā€ it just stays stuck on 0%. i tried restarting my PC and all it did was reinstall Visual C++ AGAIN. yet another botched update from incompetent devs? go figure. if i have to uninstall/reinstall this steaming pile i will simply unistall this train wreck and leave it in my rear view mirror. i am sick and tired of the shoddy practices by T10/PGG.

to be fair, though, it is definitely the sort of issue that needs a fast fix and it looks like that did happen

curiously, Master Chief Collection had an unexpected extra update just after the very recent large-ish update, not sure what got patched but I wasnā€™t getting achievements half the time (picking up skulls, etc) and now itā€™s fine

Well, I guess this explains why I couldnā€™t connect to the PR stunt leaderboards earlier, and why I was forced to the fallback playlist when traveling from Rally Adventure to Mexico. Oddly, I quit out of the game and restarted it, but the game didnā€™t prompt that an update was available. Just started back up again and put into the fallback playlist. Thought it was a problem with my Xbox, so I did a hard shutdown and unplugged it for a while.

i just uninstalled the game and tried to reinstall. needless to say it wonā€™t reinstall. i am done with this. i have better things to do than chase ghosts down rabbit holes and do troubleshooting for incompetent devs. i uninstalled the xbox app as well. iā€™ve had enough frustration for one night.

Had a similar issue today, it got stuck at 0% downloading and sometimes in queue. After some searching i found this solution and it worked for me, it turns out its related to gaming services and when you are part of xbox insider preview.

If you want to roll back to the stable version of the Xbox App then you will need to leave the preview.

  1. Ensure that you signing in to the Xbox App, the Windows Store and the Xbox Insider Hub with the same account.
  2. Load the Xbox Insider Hub, find the Windows Gaming preview in your ā€˜Joinedā€™ list. Click Manage. Scroll down and click Leave Preview
  3. Ensure that you are properly removed from the preview. Windows Gaming should now be listed in the available list
  4. Remove the Xbox App using Windows Settings > Apps (find Xbox App and uninstall)
  5. Remove Gaming Services. In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter: get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
  6. Reboot PC
  7. Load the Windows Store, find the Xbox App and install.

i didnā€™t even have Insider Hub to begin with. i have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the Xbox App along with Gaming Services multiple times all to no avail. i even uninstalled the Microsoft Store and reinstalled that as well. nothing has worked and at this point i am at a loss. i have tried every solution known to man and none of them worked. if i thought sacrificing virgins to dark gods would yield results iā€™d try that as well, but i suspect even that wouldnā€™t work.

Is that still a thing ? I was Xbox Insider years ago and it caused so many issues I wanted to resign from it. It was so complicated I ended up just abandoning that account and starting over.

WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO FIX THIS STEAMING PILE?!

Good call. Even better IF they ever looked at the forums. And Iā€™m on console for my part so no logs (or I havenā€™t a clue how to look).

FWIW I have just started getting that invisible XamlSource window bug on the PC that might be related to OneDrive, but again, not playing on PC, and not even sure I still have OneDrive set up on the laptop where itā€™s hitting.

And Iā€™ve been back in this game just twice since returning after my away time and gotten a Controller Disconnect error again like I did just before I left, so I guess that is back. And I checked, my controller is up to date.

so after much frustration i finally gave up and factory reset my PC. then one of the first things i did was see if the game would install. it seems to be installing now, so idk if the windows update broke the game or if it was something else with the shadow update. iā€™ll only know if everything is working correctly when the game finishes downloading, which with my hicksville internet speed will probably be sometime next week.
