Lost all my Data on Forza 5. Fair play got 10millionCR back from Turn 10. Happened on Forza 6 but couldn’t be bothered with it anymore and now it’s happened again on Forza 7! What the hell is going on?! Lost all my cars, levels and everything! Spent 6 Days and you can look at my achievements for proof on this game of collecting 150 cars. And driver level of 100ish! Can I please have some help??? That actually stops this from happening!?
Dang that really stinks. I have serious trouble figuring out how you’ve lost data on the last three versions. I would guess 99% of people have never lost any data and that small small percentage of people that have actually lost anything it’s only happen once. The fact that you had it happen the last three times makes me think there is something going on with your internet connection or your Xbox when it is syncing to the cloud.
If you are playing on multiple Xboxes the possibility might be that you’re not syncing the data between them. And if this is the case, you would get a message saying that your data has not been synced, would you like to use local data. I had this happen on the original Horizon and it reset to a previous save that was stored locally but I never lost everything.
Hopefully you can find a solution to this or some people here might have some ideas. Good luck.
You still have not learned how to properly rage quit.
If you unplug your console while it is saving, you will corrupt your save. How this has happened to you on 3 separate occasions, and it has happened to me on Zero occasions tells me 2 things.
You either have a faulty hard drive that you refuse to replace. Or you have an really bad attitude, where you blame everyone else for something that you caused, simply due to the ability for you to be able to cause it.
You don’t sue a supermarket, after you pour soap on the floor, and then slip and fall. for the same reason that you don’t complain about your save getting corrupted, when you avoid saving the game correctly.
There is that third possibility that, you are really smart and have hacked the Xbox One, and are modding your save to give you free money, and corrupted your save file… Or you are using Cheat Engine on PC, and then saving the game there, and loading it up on Xbox One to play it… and then complain. But that wouldn’t explain the other games.
So I have decided to narrow it down to my initial gut reaction, of learning how to rage quit properly. I recommend throwing your controller. The longer it takes for you calm down, the worse your bad decisions will be. Maybe next time you corrupt your save, you won’t tell everyone how bad of a mistake you made, and instead you might throw your TV at your door.
Learn to curtail your rage, and you should have smooth sailing through life. If Forza makes you that angry, I hope you don’t play Dark Souls.
Seems odd that you would post this here and not in the Tech Support Section. Three different games, yet the same problem… sounds more like a hardware issue. Or perhaps it could be the interface between the controller and chair. Or, worst case, it could be an ID-10T error.
Wait who r u? I never rage quit Forza… how can u just suddenly assume that?? All am asking for is help to get it back jeez. And wouldn’t u be mad after spending hours playing a game then losing everything 3 times?
It can get a little testing at times on here LOL. It is not uncommon for people to rage quit Forza since winning the race is only half the battle and it would be WW3 on here if I lost my data so I sympathize.
Is everything syncing up okay because most of that would be saved upstairs? I have wondered a few times when I can’t get thru to the Forza Hub, Auction House or Xbox live app whether that doesn’t upset the applecart if closing out of the game etc. I opened my garage the other day and I got a pop up letting me know I can buy cars and only could see the Buy Car and Rent Car tabs and with over 500 cars already I nearly had a heart attack.
What? Winning the race isn’t what matters. Learning and improving is what matters the most. You learn jack [edited] if you don’t stay, keep racing, learn from your mistakes, and improve. This is why so many people can’t race at all.
On top of that, do you think the best drivers in the world win every single race? No they don’t.
Your attitude that you expel in your post, makes you sound like someone that feels entitled, and entitled people rage quit by FORCING CLOSED a game that saves your progress at specific intervals.
If at the end of the race, you FORCE CLOSED Forza, you run the risk of interrupting the save process.
Rage quitting, is sometimes better done by throwing your controller. If you value your save, for a Game that you HATE and feel is unfair, fore than the $25 controller that you have in your hand, you have more issues than just your save getting erased.
Almost level 100… and all of a sudden, the game stops working? sounds like someone was pissed after being spun out on the last lap of an endurance race online, and decided to rage quit while the race leader finished their lap.
If I am wrong, Which I seldom am, you probably did something similar to this to cause your problem.
If so, You should be able to rollback your save, if you had not somehow uploaded the corrupted save and had it overwrite a good one.
After it happening 3 times on 3 games I would take a look at buying a surge protector. People always overlook this kind of thing these days because people are not aware that “brown outs” and surges can damage data on stored devices very easily. I would also make sure you keep your system away from any other items, like speakers or screens as magnetism can cause huge issues with corrupted storage.
I was under the impression that the original Xbox one had a surge protector built into the brick since it said in the console manual that was the case and to plug it straight into the wall, not sure about the S or X but pretty sure that’s what was printed. It honestly sounds like the game is not being shut down properly as I’ve only had 1 Forza game save fail and that was because my power went out when loading up FM4 on the 360.
Edit: Though I should mention I’ve had all of my Xbox’s plugged into surge protectors since the original and it saved a lot of my entertainment setup when I lived in Houston and my house got struck by lightning.
The last time my game save got corrupted was in Forza Motorsport 2.
Since then every single time I finish playing any Forza game, I back all the way out to the title screen if possible, then back to the dash, then quit the game.
This is the way you should always exit a game to avoid losing data. If you are following these steps every single time and never just power your Xbox off whilst the game is saving or doing anything active then the only other logical explanation is it’s your Xbox.
Over the last 3 forza games I have seen a tiny number (probably no more than 5 users) of people complaining about all data being lost and in most of those instances it was either user error or a hardware fault.
If you really feel strongly that this is a bug with the game (bearing in mind you are the only person out of at least 200,000 people that own this game to have reported this issue then post in the technical support area of the forums. Despite what some people may tell you the devs to look into issues they consider game breaking and let’s be honest losing all data (although shouldn’t it all be saved in the cloud anyway?) is game breaking. I.wish you luck in getting to the bottom of this and please feel free to share with the rest of us when you find the answer.
I try telling my kids this, but you can’t tell kids much of anything that will actually stick, especially if they’ve done it differently and have gotten away with it so far.
