I don’t normally take time to do this but I’ve never been more disappointed by a Forza Motorsport game. I’ve been playing since FM1, but got more involved on FM3 & FM4. I’ve hosted several fun and fair drag racing, circuit, and oval racing events along with my league FHRA. I have put countless hours into FM7 and lost everything out of no where 11/29/17. Every time I try to log in, it takes me to the intro and gender selection screen. I sent a detailed email to Turn 10 on 12/1/17 and got a reply 12/4/17 stating “Hello, Thanks for providing us this information. We are currently investigating this and will follow up with you once we have any updates or if we need any more info from you. Thanks.” For the past week I’ve been playing on my wife’s account instead in hopes of T10 resolving the issue with my account. I put several hours into her account and now the same thing happened to hers. Right to the intro again. Crashes, multiplayer leaves people in the lobby (player created & hoppers), it throws players cars into player created lobbies as an out of control AI, can’t hear everyone in game chat (issue since FM5 that T10 apparently doesn’t care to fix), liveries don’t load, replays freeze at points (issue since FM6, maybe before), replays show car’s wheels constantly driving even when they’re at a stand still, complete a task for Forzathon and it doesn’t register, no RPM control in drag. The list goes on, but all our hard work disappearing takes the cake.
Sorry Brother… I had this happen in FM4 really sucks… T10 won’t help you. And now without gift giving… No one else can help you either.
I will say it’s not just T10… Kudos with AC has the issue too. I have over 250//300 gamer pints in AC and saved game lost… Need to start over.
I’m trying to give them time because aside from the current junk I’ve experienced recently, I love Forza. I’m not starting from scratch a 3rd time though. Especially if it can leave me back at square 1 again. Worse case I’ll get a refund from Microsoft for their defective product and buy Gran Turismo for my PS4.
To the OP.
forget about contacting T10. My friend had exactly the same issue, contact xbox live. They eventually managed to retrieve all his game. Essentially your game save is held in the cloud.

I used to be a fan of Gran Turismo (5 and 6) and have a PS4 Pro and Gran Turismo Sport. Very flashy introduction video but 171 cars only and I took one look at the career mode and gave up. Might revisit it to get a more balanced view.

I am sorry for your loss and can’t disagree with the game foibles you pointed out. The Game Save loss was the big one for me, I was able to recover my data luckily though. This is becoming fairly well documented. Here is one of my last posts (Page 5) over at:

People on FM forums said to delete your smaller save file to get your erased game back. In Manage Game option I went to Saved Data and there were two save files. The smaller save was “Reserved Data” with a 90k size. I kept deleting this and my game was not recovered.
I finally deleted both my “Reserved Data” save and my “Profile Save” from the console. This worked. Deleted both saves and my game finally synced to the cloud and everything was back. Yes, when I got my Save back a while ago, I believe I hit Delete All on the screen you mentioned. It was also posted that a “Console Reset” worked as well (avoiding a Local Game Save deletion). Though I have had many posts, I believe the local save becomes corrupted inhibiting the Cloud Save from working properly. A fix appears only valid if players with the issue STOP when the beginning of the game comes up. I think when the bug occurs, if you proceed forward, choose a character etc., the game will likely write a new save, and send it to the cloud- overwriting previous data. I can only surmise this, but it would explain why some people get their data back and in other cases the Game Save Data loss may be irreversible.
There are other threads as well documenting this. Throughout the thread mentioned above I documented my issue and the steps I took to resolve it. Hopefully this may give you some perspective on the Game Save data loss issue. I researched for about about a week, then only took action on my own when I felt it would not make my situation worse.

Thank you for the replies gentlemen. I’ve tried the work arounds, but have had no success. I’ll be contacting Microsoft tomorrow to retrieve my account or refund me for this broken/faulty product.
How much time to they really deserve? The game has been out for several months now. To me that’s plenty of time to correct the majority of issues. Between T10’s apparent lack of concern and lazily selecting community volunteers who randomly behave like dictators rather than employing actual community managers to handle the official discussion forums. Those two reasons alone are enough for me to wash my hands completely of Forza. This evening I picked the game up for the first time in many weeks with hopes of seeing some changes and it took me all of 10 minutes to realize the answer was no. That same amount of time on the forums reminded me why I stopped visiting here as well.
It’s quite sad really because Sony gives Microsoft every opportunity to provide a superior experience but outside of hardware they squander the opportunity at every turn. Back to GT Sport I guess.
I was a well paid community manager until I discovered I was totally antisocial and not community-minded, which is quite a serious character trait in such an occupation. The bigger issue is even if you agree with a community members post there are guidelines to follow and quite frankly it is a crap job to find the right balance. You are better off with volunteers because they want to be here.
True but heres the big question just how long should one be a Community Manager in volunteer position. How long befor it just becomes a grind.
Paid or voluntary it becomes a grind after about an hour but in my position, I could make decisions for management and tell them about it later where voluntary you are usually just the meat in the sandwich and most of the time cant win. I am not talking about here specifically only to the point it is not an easy job on the front line between a community and a company and saw them being attacked for the privilege. How Long - Voluntary should last about 2 weeks max but don’t get me started on that coz there are not enough hours in the day.

So I can just start over and play while they take their sweet time fixing this or possibly pretending to look into it and giving me the closest preset message they can find…
On top of it all I started again and
- The credits sound at the end of the race frequently stays going through the whole next race.
- They frequently don’t award you your credits after the race and still place a use on your mod card even though you don’t get the award.

Yea. It has no resolution for effected players with data loss issues.
Hi I am the guy the artistig 01 mentioned.
I had a random loss of all saved data one day, l lost everything back to the first 3 intro races at the start.
I rang Xbox live and they walked me through the fix process.
I can’t remember exactly what I had to do but it was something like this.
Delete gamer profile.
Delete local saved data on Xbox.
Reload gamer profile.
Appear offline.
Play forza until first save point which was after the first 3 intro races.
Quit game then appear online.
Restart forza then a screen popped up asking me to load from local save data or the cloud. I picked from cloud and downloaded save data from there.
Managed to get everything back as if it never happened.
Hope this helps but it’s best to contact Xbox live as I can’t fully remember and I may not be 100% with my description.

Over the past few weeks we have been investigating an issue where a small number of players’ game saves were deleted and unrecoverable if their save was corrupted or if they ran into a connected storage error. As part of our investigation, we have been closely working with the Xbox team to address the issue. In addition to recently introduced platform changes, today’s FM7 update includes a pop-up error notice that will prevent players from mistakenly deleting their game save should they enter this state.
While we believe the Xbox update will prevent players from entering this state going forward, players who receive this pop-up error in the game will be prevented from continuing in the game and will be asked to contact Forza support for further assistance. This will prevent the player from unwittingly deleting their save (though players will have the option to manually delete the save if they wish).
While we are unable to restore career progress and the content that was on your account, we will be gifting you in game credits, cars and Driver Gear. If you haven’t already, you will need to start a new game save and collect these items from the gifts section in the message center.
We regret the trouble this issue has caused for players and we thank you for your patience while we worked to resolve this.

My Xbox told me to clear local saved games so it could re download the save from Xbox live but when I restarted Forza Horizon 3 I was automatically put into a new story and I lost my old save. I’ve called Xbox customer support and they told me that you could perhaps recover my save from yesterday. My gamer tag is: GoopyGamer26 and I require the save from yesterday (31/12/17) around 1600hrs. I will also accept what you mentioned and just instead take a hefty amount of credits if that’s easier. I also invested real money into the game for DLC’s. I would either like a refund or I would like the cars i purchased or the money for them please.
I apologize for the inconvenience, I would be happy to just accept the money.
