I’ve always loved this game. However, when the game resets itself and you lose ALL progress, all Rewards, all cars, all paints, all tunes, all credits, then something is seriously wrong. You have known about this issue already for some time and it’s incredible it’s still happening. So many of your loyal fans and players are going to walk away from this game. I was al driver level 200+ collector level 23 and what, I have to START AGAIN? Seriously, this is a massive problem - it makes the VIP issue look insignificant. What are you going to do about it? You need to warn all players this could and probably will happen to them - and do it now. This is affecting more and more people. I’m not going to invest countless hours again to have it all disappear. This really is unbelievable.
Welcome to Turn10. This has been an issue since the launch of the Xbox One and it continues to happen. Now they just resort to giving you a lump sum of credits for the value of your garage which sounds nice but means you miss out on all the locked or exclusive cars you may have had.
Even so, it speaks volumes that this is their solution 5 years into such an issue.
I was actually defending T10 on here time and time again with all the initial complaints. I said “don’t worry, give it some time, they will get it right”. I’m not saying that any more.
I can’t say to know the cause of the issue, but I do now it was fairly prevalent in FM5. I saw it happen again on all 3 Horizon titles and FM6. It seems as if this newest title is no exception.
I used to be a huge fan of Turn10 and I loved the Forza titles. While I do still enjoy the games it’s now much easier to not play or to choose a different game. It hasn’t just been the games this latest generation but a seeming shift in character and attitude from the devs themselves and I’ve found it to not be for the better.
Sadly I still say there hoping the next game would be an improvement, that things would change, that Turn10 would change and each time I was proven wrong. With this issue being an exception, FM7 is off to a good start. The game is now, a few months after launch what it should have been starting out. It’s been a great beta test for 2 months and I’m sure some of the changes abound due to that other companies loot crate mess but that’s alright.
I can’t say I’ll be as excited or pre purchasing any future titles but seeing as that’s now the majority I’m sure it’s not a surprise.
I’m glad I haven’t lost my entire game save in this game - but I’d history is any indicator, it’s only a matter of time.

FYI I had to grid through Career mode again in order to reach Tier 5 Collector in time for weekend tribute race for a deceased fellow club member in my usual online competition just in order to be able to access the car required for this. I basically spent all my free time for the week doing this. I’m glad I did - but - this may give you some idea T10 as to just how horrible this experience is for users.
This IS me being patient by the way … and I’m sure most every one of the other thousands of affected users. Really hope you guys at T10 can get a handle on this soon, your workload to try and fix this issue after you resolve it must be expanding exponentially every day. I’d hate to be working in this industry, it clearly sucks when things go pear shaped. But ya know, overtime!! So not all bad hey. I do hope you can understand the frustration, and venting you have to deal with, it is to be expected. I’ve calmed down, it is only a game after all, but a lot of people this happens to each day are going to be less calm, trust me ; ) Some sort of apology in updates on the status of this issue is in order I would think, regardless of the crap you are having to deal with - anyone getting out of line I’m sure you have dealt with appropriately anyway. There is a lot, a lot of disbelief out there about how this has been handled so far. I know you are all doing your best, but communication wise from T10, let’s just say it has left a fair bit to be desired. Peace.
Hey all - be cautious if you get your $$ and VIP perks, etc returned to you as a compensation for this awful reset bug. I lost all my stuff about 2 weeks ago, got compensated for it, and then the reset issue happened AGAIN to me yesterday morning. They really need to fix this issue.
Luckily, I hadn’t been playing a ton (had only risen to level 20 this time - during the first reset I was level 120+ with over 280 cars), as I was leery that this would happen again. Now I can’t bring myself to touch this game until it is truly fixed. And it pains me to say that.
One more huge Forza fan on this disappointed list of Forza players. It’s the very first time I experience this, I didn’t even know it could possibly happen to us. What are you Forza support guys gonna do to help me ? I managed to buy all the cars from this “specialised car seller”, whatever you american call it, and all disappeared a week ago. My progress still is saved on the Forza Hub, but all that is left of it all is the last car won from my last Forzathon. No more money, no more cars. I’m back to level 1. Now, I miss playing this game ! But it’s impossible to start it over knowing I might lose it all again and again ! I spent something like 100 € to finally realise my saving isn’t even safe ! The worst thing about it is it still is on your “Cloud” with my GamerTag tagged on it, waiting for me to use it, but my console can no more reach it for me !
Had this problem a few days ago . also lost every thing had to start over .had a few of the legendary driver gear like the mummy outfit . Also I lost my loyalty rewards like the badges and driver gear . And I lost over 200 cars some of them rare cars a couple of them turn10 sent to make up for the vip mix up when the game first came out. . Also about 99 pieces of driver gear
We are still investigating this issue and are working to get this resolved. If you lost your game save data, please follow the steps listed here and keep an eye out on that thread for any updates.
Just read in the general discussion section that someone else with this exact issues was able to correct it. They found it on Reddit, if you delete your LOCAL saves (both of them), the game then syncs back with your cloud saves and your back to normal. Make sure not to delete the Xbox Live save, local save only. It seems the local save may be corrupted some way that doesn’t allow it to sync with the cloud. This also only works if you haven’t started a new game. Good luck!
This work only for players which shut down the console before/during the intro sequence is coming. The game generated automatic new cloudsave when the intro sequence is over.
This has happened twice to me in a week now.
If you do a console reset keeping your games and apps the cloud will sync your save files, go to settings, system,console info, console reset
I lost all my progress BECAUSE I hard reset the console.
I have 3 times reproduced this:
started new career, played 3-4 races. closed the game. restart the game, all ok.
Hard reset the console and intro sequence is coming.
