Most of us here know about the cheaters, unreachable soawned car, spawning on top of things etcetera but below is the second time I clearly lost yet the game gave me a win.
Below is really ridiculous, anyone else have similar experiences?
looks like desync to me. opponents are seemingly in front of you, even though they’re actually not. happens from time to time.

Its impossible for that car to stay behind me on the freeway, the difference in speed is just too great
Only issue I’ve ever had with eliminator, and it’s a carry over issue from FH4. It sucks. It was a suckky idea. It is still a suckky idea. It will always be a suckky idea. I will only get involved if I’m forced into it by the playlist for some reason. I’ve learned how to get to the right level then get out of that suckky junk waste of time.
Hate the eliminator.

Possibly the other guy hit a bump and went of course a bit and overshot the mark.
I love playing the Eliminator. Once you get you’re head around how it works it’s a lot of fun. Think I’m sitting on about 61 wins. Yesterday I went back to Horizon 4 and was working on getting the last outstanding achievement of winning without getting any car drops. I challenged a Level 10 Veyron in my Mini and won the h2h as the mini was a lot more nimble through the trees. Then hid out till the finish where there were just 3 of us then took out the win. Very satisfying.

Yeah, the mini was better for winning in 4 then the beatle is in 5
Only way to know for sure why that happened is to see it from his side which is very difficult in most cases. Unlikely to be disconnection because it would say that you have beaten your opponent in that case instead of their gamertag.
Yeah but the straight line does suggest a dissconect or lag spike

currently my lone Eliminator win was in FH4 on an arena shrink surprise while in mini and the Heads Up achievement was so satisfying, I am going for it in FH5 (as accolade) :] cheers!

It is easier then you think.
I got it when I got challenged by a Macan, won the race took the Macan and was immediatly challenged by a Camaro and two car upgrades from racing later I won with the AMG ONE.
You can get cars, just not trough the random spawns.

I got a nice level 8 Lambo in a round one spawn recently (way down in the jungles).

I was once exactly the same. I too am old and grumpy and the Eliminator didn’t help.
Recently though I started a drive to head up the old accolade charts but to get in the top 500 I had to make a start on the Eliminator (or get into tuning big time).
I again tried the Eliminator and as expected, I still hated it. Then I looked up on Youtube just how to actually win one of these things…
… That was a game changer and I actually now quite enjoy it (and hate it when it doesn’t go so well).
A change of attitude is all it took. Be the aggressor. Look to eliminate people. Get smooth and accurate through trees etc. Just a few practice rounds into playing aggressively I was being offered Tier 8+ cars. Then you just have to survive until the last race.
Basically if you try to just survive it, you won’t. You gotta go out to win it.
I did finally get my first win, now I’m looking for another 6 or 7.
On topic, that same thing has happened to me, where I was surely the loser, by a fraction but it gave me it.

I reckon about half my 61 wins I’ve not challenged anyone. I just drive sometimes collecting car drops. Other times I really go for it challenging everyone.
Someone mentioned random car spawns. That’s correct but the locations are fixed. I start in the same place every time as there’s a number of spawning sites nearby. More often than not I’m able to get a car drop.
I dare anyone to capture a more unlucky eliminator moment than this. He didn’t even thank me for the car.

You think you are owed thanks for someone who beat you legitly in a way lower ranked car.
That person earned their win, they saw an oportunity and took it.
Your math makes me head hurt, what happened in that 0.5 eliminator?
Did you beat a half car or find the elusive 9.5 level car?
