It has been a couple of day since my Forza 6 just says syncing data and nothing would happen
Try doing a system reset (hard boot) as below:
1 – from the Dashboard, out of all games, hold the X button on the front of the console down until it shuts the system down.
2 – Disconnect the external power from the wall plug (or at least disconnect the wall-side connector on the power pack itself.
3 – WAIT until all power drains from the external power pack (no light, either white or dull orange showing on the pack), and disconnect from the console itself.
4 – After about three minutes, reconnect the console side of the pack to the Xbox One and then the power supply to the electrical outlet.
5 – Restart the console in the usual manner, i.e., either with the controller or a short push on the X button on the front of the X1.
6 – WAIT until the console self-checks and fully boots to the Dashboard before attempting anything.
If you don’t disconnect the external power pack and let the power completely drain out, the system is still retaining “old” stuff and not resetting.
You will probably receive an update to Forza Motorsport 6 today (already released regarding the new car pack) so let that download 100% before attempting to play the game.
It did not work
And “how” did it “not work.” It would really be nice when trying to assist if there were a description of what is happening.
Have you checked in the Manage Game section to make sure all downloads are completed?
I don’t want to step on any toes here, since SnowOwl is helping, but I have some experience of this issue with FM6 and FH2. So, if it’s ok, I would like to try to help. If it’s not, then this post can be deleted.
From my experiences, sometimes a console reset won’t fix it. And this only happens when I use my WIFI at someone elses house, as I use Ethernet at home. It has to re-sync everytime my connection type changes. But I have found, that resetting my modem/router (unplugging it, wait 30 seconds to a minute, and plugging it back in) helps out in the syncing process. It takes a while, especially FH2 as ALL game info seems like it is in one big ol’ file.
So try resetting your modem/router, and post back with an update. Also, for everyone’s benefit, if you could post any error messages you may have, that would help us all out.
I have constantly had problems with Horizon 2 in the syncing department, tried every fix, did nothing for me, still can’t play Horizon 2. I recently got a new Xbox One, and Forza 6 has been syncing for about an hour now. Tried every fix again and again to no avail.
Console is hardwired, NAT is open, every game does have to re-sync, but will do that as I play the games again. Forza games are the only ones that I have ever had a problem syncing. We need a way to have a hard save to avoid things like this.
Also, I get no error codes, just “we couldn’t sync your data with the cloud just now”.
EDIT So, I got it working almost instantly when I moved the save files onto the Internal HDD.
That’s good that you got it working. Just a little piece of advice… You may want to put all Forza Motorsport 6 and Horizon 2 files onto the internal Hard drive. Just so that if you ever play with the external hard drive unplugged, it’s not searching for the dlc and giving you errors for that.
I personally have my files backed up on my external hard drive, just in case my internal hard drive goes out, and a possible problem with the cloud at that point, I have a back up of them. But that’s me.
As for the Horizon 2 syncing… It will take as long as an hour to complete fully. You need to let it work it’s magic, and not cancel it when you are trying to sync it. Cancelling it, in my experience, makes it go even slower. Syncing at home takes up to 8 hours, but I have slow download and upload speeds, but decent latency… At a friend’s house, they have over 50 mbps download and 25 mbps upload, low latency and it still takes an hour to complete. It sucks, but it is what it is and I let it do it’s thing. So try waiting for a while longer, and you should be able to play Horizon 2 sooner rather than later.
Yeah, I currently have roughly 23 down, and let it sit last night for about 3 hours. Would finish, then say it couldn’t sync, so I’d start again, it got to 99% and stayed there for a half hour, couldn’t sync. Did it again, finished in like 2 minutes, couldn’t sync. The fact that this problem only exists with Turn10/Forza games is quite suspicious. If I can’t play the game, then I want my money back.
I’d suggest, for anyone using an external drive as the storage location, try checking this Xbox Support information regarding the setup because there are several requirements, such as having a USB 3 device:
In most cases it’s just a matter of waiting. Sometimes a resync may only take 20 seconds, other times it has taken several hours.
So this CAN happen on FM6 also. Good to know. (will now rush thru the game to complete it, then sell it.)
I don’t need another year of my life I can’t get back or refunded because of their wonky save setups. (FH2)
Yeahhh, it can. Sorta makes me feel like EA is publishing Forza games without our knowledge with the lack of quality lately.
