I’m new to this and posting for my son. We had a problem with our xbox one and had to send it in for repair to xbox. A new console was returned to us on Fri. We have been unable to sync our data at all on Forza 6 or Forza Horizon 2. I have been walked through various trouble shooting options by the online support and now have other games running but none of Forza which makes them think it is a Forza issue. They had also had others having similar problems. We have refreshed the game, rebooted the system and also deleted and readded my sons profile. But every time the syncing falls over part way through. We are really concerned he will lose his data progress and add on purchases etc. How can we get it to work? We don’t want to play offline as that will start a new game. Would really appreciate your help. Thanks
Unfortunately, all you can do is keep at it, and re-try and re-try and re-try until the sync has finally completed. It took me about four days once (if I remember correctly) to freshly sync the save games for FM5 and FH2. If you really want to keep those saves, you’ll have to be prepared to wait for it, potentially a rather long time.
Thanks for your reply. Will keep at it. I read someone saying about beta. Would that apply to my situation? It is a full version not beta. I’m not so tech savvy unfortunately.
Unless you’re in the Xbox operating system beta, it doesn’t count. The sync is something that you need to stay with until it completes. But don’t do anything else on the console. Just let it sit, and if it says it couldn’t sync, Try Again.
I deleted and recovered my gamertag, deleted and re-installed the game, tried re-syncing probably 4 times now and still nothing. Mine loads all the way to 100% and then says it cannot sync.
I am extremely frustrated I have countless hours spent in designs, tunes, cars, money, progress, money, etc.
I am hoping this will eventually work because this is really the only game I play.
Yeh same. Really don’t want to lose everything. Have also recently got a gaming wheel, which can’t be used. I thought if this was an issue for people something could have been done.
I’ll post this again, because it is sometimes more helpful than deleting/adding gamertags or a complete uninstall and reinstall:
Try doing a system reset (hard boot) as below:
1 – from the Dashboard, out of all games, hold the X button on the front of the console down until it shuts the system down.
2 – Disconnect the external power from the wall plug (or at least disconnect the wall-side connector on the power pack itself.
3 – WAIT until all power drains from the external power pack (no light, either white or dull orange showing on the pack).
4 – Reconnect the power supply to the electrical outlet.
5 – Restart the console in the usual manner, i.e., either with the controller or a short push on the X button on the front of the X1.
6 – WAIT until the console self-checks and fully boots to the Dashboard before attempting anything.
If you don’t disconnect the external power pack and let the power completely drain out, the system is still retaining “old” stuff and not resetting.
Wheels ARE usable within FM6 (if you’re able to access it) by launching the game from the Dashboard first with your controller, then BEFORE STARTING THE GAME plug in your wheel, deactivate the controller, THEN push the (A) button on your wheel to start the game. The issues “wheels don’t work” came mainly from people who are doing the New Xbox One Experience BETA software, where the wheel buttons are not yet active in the Dashboard ON THE BETA BUILDS. The regular Xbox One software will work fine, but you can use the method I posted here to play with the wheel in the game.
Thanks for the response. I have done the console resets, gamer tag recovery and game re-install and nothing seems to change it.
It’s failed to load probably 12 times now. Funny thing is yesterday it would make it 99-100% before saying it couldn’t sync to the cloud, today however it’s not making it past 92-96%.
Tried this morning 2 times, and now in the afternoon that I’m home from work 2 more times and all failed. I just did another console reset in the manner you explained above and I’m at 98% now so we will see what happens.
I spent $100 on this game and for this to happen is ridiculous. If I skip syncing just to play the game it’s only available to be played offline so either way I’m screwed.
I’ve gone into Microsoft support and still nothing. I have no idea what to do at this point. As I’m writing this it just failed again.
Yeh have done the reboot too. Thanks for the wheel info, my problem is not wanting to start a new game and losing all my previous stuff, rather than not being able to play it. I’m a bit surprised either Xbox or forza can’t do more about this. Xbox were very good in trying many solutions but forza I’ve had zilch response. I messaged them through their FB page but think I’ll try and find an email somewhere. Appreciate everyone’s help. Thanks
If you get it to start a sync, let it run. Go outside and run yourself or something, but do nothing else on the console.
You can reduce the screen back to the Dashboard, but otherwise leave it alone, play no other games, stream music or videos, etc. Let the Xbox One concentrate on doing what you want - a sync of the game.
Depending on what you or someone may have deleted, it may be a very long process.
Ahhhhh! Forza 6 finally worked! Tried once fri night no go. Tried once Sun arvo and whizzed through in less than a minute. Done. Forza 2 still not working. Crazy, but so pleased have got one working finally. Really does seem trial and error and pot luck.
