I know it must not only be me, but the sound of the v12 engine is annoying. When I first bought the centenario it was not that bad, but when I got an aventador and I heard the exact same sound I was well no, I really hope that there will be an update in the future changing the sounds of cars stick at least, if you pop a v12 into a muscle car and complain that’s your problem because you put it in there. But if you have about more than 5 cars that sound the same stock than It gets annoying, especially with the sesto elemento comming out really soon, I really dislike the engine sounds and I hope I’m not the only one that wants to see a change to that.
The Engine sounds alone are nice but like you said, it is very annoying that all the V12 engines sound exactly the same. All the V10s sound the same and all the V8s sound just like V10s. The V6s at least sound different. The I4 turbo rally engines all sound the same. It is extremely annoying.
It is only reasonable on the level you’re depicting it at if you use the STi line. They (literally) all have the same engine. However if you take that over to the stock engine swaps that are available, of course they all sound the same, they’re swaps.
Now, if you take it onto the level of the 599XX having a nearly identical sound to the FXX K, that is different. I’ll put that aside as I don’t want to rant too much, but it seems as there are generalized sounds for a lot of cars in the game (most of which were just ported over from Horizon 2 for some reason). The odd thing is that the Skylines and Supra sound almost identical, which is not mind blowing but the way the Supra sound is likely set up is it’s just the Skyline sound but with a lower rev range.
I’ll say it again: I cannot WAIT to hear that Huracan engine in the Sesto.
Its not all the Skylines, its just the R34 and A80 Supra that sound so generic its like trash. The R34 should use the same sound as all the other Skylines in the game, as they all use the same RB26DETT engine. Also with the AE86, it sounds too racey in stock form. The sound for it sounds too modified and racey to be in an AE86. If the dev’s can’t get a proper 4A-GE to record the sounds from, here’s one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZmLs0by_bw&t=9s after 1:25.
Its incredibly annoying as the R34 was my favourite car on FM6, especially the 2Fast 2Furious one.
Let’s put other game sounds aside for asecond, shall we? They are not even comparable.
Now, have you heard or driven some of these cars IRL? Do that first, then get back to us on how “incredible” the sounds are in H3.
For the record - their best sounds have been represented in FM2, 4, H1 and 2, FM 5 and 6. That’s it; 4 and 5 being the benchmark.
Apart from introducing distinct sounds for EVERY car, they really should go back to the drawing board with regards to how sounds are recreated in the game, but that’s just my opinion - people will continue to argue over how its the best sounding game, devs will continue to be complacent etc. Perhaps if Horizon gets any real competition, the devs might smell the coffee and start making some revolutionary changes. As it is, the cars sound too gamey, too canned and synthesized. If you were to hear these cars IRL, you’d be drooling and fantasizing over them for months. I remember the first time I heard an Aventador revving to redline and doing high speed drive bys. Blew my damn undies off.
But that’s just my opinion, MS and PG will continue to do what sells the most copies, not necessarily what we, the old-time fans want.
I wish I could pipe an echo filter over the game audio. That would add so much more feel to all of the six car sounds in the game and I presume I’d enjoy it quite a bit more.
Well considering the aventador and centenario use the same engine in real life, It’s pretty obvious that they should sound the same. Also not all V12s in the game share the same sounds, I’ve driven many different v12 cars in the game, all with distinct sounds. Ferraris and Lamborghini V12s definitely sound different to one another.
The fact people complain about car engine sounds in this game really amazes me. The car engine sounds in this game are pretty incredible compaired to the majority of car games available.
The majority of the ones who complain are most likely the ones who always use engine swaps. If you leave the stock engine in cars you’ll start to realise many cars have their own unique sounds.
I think a lot of people (such as myself) complain about the engine sounds in this game, because for most cars in the game, they’re a pretty noticeable step down from the FM series, and leaving in the stock engine isn’t much of a solution, since Forza typically only makes it so most stock engines can’t make as much power as the available engine swaps, i’d gladly leave the stock engine in a lot of my cars, if they weren’t for some reason limited to only being able to make like 400HP NA. And please don’t ask for examples, I haven’t played H3 in quite a while to remember.
Yeah all the sounds are annoying. And none of the cars sound realistic except the amg c63 but every other German car also sounds like it. And every other car sounds like every other car it’s annoying.
I wish we could swap other V12 rather than just the aventador in everything. It gets old quick However sometimes the Vipers engine you can actually get more power depending on how much PI you have lol.
EVERY time I see a sound complaint thread pop up on these forums, I just shake my head at the thought that I excitedly pre-ordered H3 after playing the demo and then have this giant fart blow up in my face, reminding me that nearly every car sound in the game is just generic. Engine swaps sound the same in ALL cars… many cars share the exact same sound sample… gosh, the list goes on and on. This must have been the 10th or possibly higher complaint thread about sounds and the devs never bother addressing or acknowledging it in a CU.
I bought every piece of content for FM6 because I wanted to see how they did the cars and those two extra tracks, of course. While F6 didn’t exactly built upon the audio prowess of F4 and 5, it did offer a nice and diverse range of sounds, despite the fact that some sound really fake and almost Gran Turismo-like. Still, F6 has far better sound samples.
In Horizon 2, they did a really good job of having unique sounds for just about every car. So what the happened in 3? Are they going to do sound like this in all future Forza titles including F7?
Please developers, take your customers’ grievances seriously… you may be happy with the sales but this kind of laid back attitude is hurting the franchise! Save Forza from mediocrity!
