Sorry Snakeman I could not disagree more with your post.
When I play Titanfall I do not see the better players using substandard setups or substandard strategies. They do what they know will give them the best chance of winning.
Online gaming is competitive. Bumping and corner cutting are not acceptable behaviour in real life racing but I don’t see real life drivers hopping in substandard cars to give others a chance.
I believe people should be able to drive whatever they like.
So what cars do I use in lobbies? Usually I mix them up but if I have a new tune on an Xbow I will pull it out. I won’t stick with it for long but want to test it in the wild.
Why do I not run LB cars all the time online? Because I enjoy using lots of different cars AND I want to avoid the reactions from people who get upset about it.
I know people get upset about it but I think that people should be able to run whatever they like.
To me it feels too unfair to the people I’m racing against. People can do what they want but some cars have significant advantages on certain tracks so I try to avoid them online. While I would never wreck or kick someone for using one, I’m not going to shed any tears for them either. I just don’t see the point. You either want to race or you want to hot lap. If you need the LB car to race competitively fair enough. If you are skilled and in a LB car it’s not going to be much of a race.
I kinda agree, kinda disagree. If someone picks 1 or 2 leader board cars over the course of, lets say 10 races. That’s fine. But if they pick thier F50, and dont get out of it for the entire time, I vote to kick and I will ask others to do the same.
I will run my leader board cars if someone is talking trash and needs to be shown they aren’t all they think they are. But 90% of the time I run cars that I like and enjoy racing,( like the Aventador) vs cars that rule the lobbies. Heck, a majority of the time I run some AWD car in Hoppers just because it makes fending off the wreckers a little easier.
So you went to the LB to see which car would give you the advantage, was denied that advantage in lobbies, and then come on the forum to cry about it ?
While I agree its not ok to kick you for it, I think you should just “play by the rule”.
If you really wanted to dirve the xbow, I think it would be a valid complain. But you wanted a LB car.
Cutting corners will give you a dirty lap. Ramming people (while racing) will get you banned. You deciding what car should and should not be used in any given lobby is arbitrary and based on your own personal preferences.
Which, I think, is bad sportsmanship as the game does not penalize you in the slightest for it.
if other player s want to start introducing rules - such as no lb cars - then go set up a controlled lobby. A public lobby is what it is. A lobby for everyone of all skills.
and before anyone says its too hard to fill a custom lobby, then theyre talking rubbish.
And with your assumptions of and attitude towards what the OP was thinking when he picked a car, I can see why.
You, I and everyone else bought this game equally and we are all trying to enjoy it in our own way. Someone wants to drive a LB car, I say let them. They may be a beginner, may want easy wins or may just enjoy the car - no reason to assume their intention and try to call them out on it.
“You, I and everyone else bought this game equally and we are all trying to enjoy it in our own way.”
If “my” way WOULD be to play without LB cars, well its my right to vote kick.
But MY way its to let your drive whatever you want. I played agaisnt a Xbow yesterday and had no problem with it.
I’ve been playing underdogs cars since FM1 in room full of LB cars, without complaining.
Back in FM1 there wasnt a 0.1 sec difference between LB/non-lb car it was like 2 or 3 sec.
The leaderboard car usually means it’s the fastest. I want to drive as fast as possible online. So I want to drive the Xbow. That’s it. Seems like the whiners are those that get bent out of shape over someone having the temerity to actually want to drive the best car they can. I’m playing by the rules, and those that don’t like the rules try to wreck me - not because I’m breaking the rules but because I want to drive the fastest car (duh) in a racing game.
I find that to be cheating. People are afraid they can’t beat me, so they wreck me. That’s the lowest form of activity on Forza.
Now I am happy to report that this happens very rarely, and I very much appreciate those that refrain from it.
Take a look in the racers lounge? There’s also a thread on here somewhere where like minded racers meet up. All the people i know on forza ive met through the forums. And i can usually have good custom lobbies going.
Saturday, we had full lobby, 6 lap races, full damage and mandatory stops. Really good fun
i know it probably bugs you when people use lb cars, but it bugs many other when people are kicked for selecting them. Times like this when searchable custom lobbies come in handy
It’s been the general consensus for as long as I can remember (think back to FM1) that using LB cars in lobbies is a no no. Particularly if you are fast. That being said, people that complain are usually just doing so because they lost.
It is what it is really. If you don’t like seeing LB cars in lobbies, do some real series racing somewhere like TORA. If you do use LB cars in lobbies, try and win without them. It feels better to win 1 race in the underdog than 10 in the LB romper imo.
