So it appeareth that the KTM XBow is disfavored in A Class lobbies ....

There is a different point but similar to the one being made.

To engine swap or not to engine swap.

I do not only run my fastest builds online. I have them and use them some of the time.

But I also build some cars with the original engine and some cars with engine swaps. Once I pick the build I then tune it to be as quick as I can get it and I drive it as quick as I can. The car itself may not be the quickest it can be though.

But to the extent everyone is trying to be quickest I think that adds to the point that people should be able to drive whatever they like anyway.

The “leaderboard car” excuse is what it is : an excuse because people can’t stand losing. You should drive what you want.

Sounds about right… getting kicked from a lobby because you are faster. Yep sounds like Forza to me.

It’s one of those unwritten laws that people don’t know about if they’re new to the game. I personally say race what you have, just be courteous while doing so. But others don’t like people using the leader board cars. Just look up tunes on the sharefront for A Class, until you get to the point you want to tune your own. That way you can still be competitive, and you will avoid being kicked and or wrecked.

Using LB cars is Unsporting, especially if your fast…

I really don’t see how this is an issue, as long as everyone has access to the LB car.

Otherwise, isn’t it the same as saying “being fast is unsporting”?

I mean, if I find that I am faster than everyone else, should I just politely start playing another game? Or maybe just skip the tracks I’m really good at because I’m just that much faster than everyone else?

Who cares what car you’re driving if being fast is the criteria for being unsporting? If you can beat me by 35 seconds in a Mustang while I’m in XBow, shouldn’t that mean that driving the Mustang is unsporting?

Just seems like people are laying down arbitrary rules with no criteria other than what they feel is right.

Which probably isn’t right

Maybe ur not fast without your KTM…

Maybe I am, maybe I’m not. But shouldn’t I want to be fast? I mean, you know, since I’m racing and all?

Then we’re all using leaderboard cars every race.

Fun stuff. What would be the point of driving anything else?

As for the guy with the mustang, imagine the lap he would put down with the Xbow, but hey you might see him in the first turn.

How so ? I race R class typically and whatever I race in (as long as the lobby is clean) I can be at the front or battling, now this isn’t me being big headed but why should I have to race a slower car just because people cant keep up with me ? I took the time to get good at the game, I should be able to race what I want. I like Rivals and time trialing but I also like to race, if I get out in front I will just use that race as a TT session

There is nothing unsporting about it its just a fact that some people are faster than others and they shouldn’t be handicapped for the fact, I now race a lot in the GT League Hopper as it seems the longer races deters the wreckers

How is it unsporting? You pick a car that everyone has access to that is in the defined parameters of the race. Anyone who thinks that using every legitimate edge they can get in a COMPITITION is probably also one of those folks that thinks everyone needs a trophy win or loose. If you’re going to race, race to win. If you can’t handle getting beat within the rules it’s time to park your ride and sit in the stands.

Im usually one of the faster guys in the room… I normal only runs project tunes or cars I like to drive. For me to pull out my top tune and DNF half the field every race isnt fun for anybody. But I see some faster guys doing it. Its unsporting …
Ill change my statement. Use cars that make you competitive with everybody elses . This goes both ways is sporting…

I disagree.

Unsporting is kicking someone for using their preferred car in a computer racing game.

the whole notion of preventing people from using a fast car in a racing game is silly.

Thats your opinion
Kicking some body for being fast or their car, is also unsporting…

I never have a problem with it if the person is not very fast and just wants to keep up and be competitive, but if they are using LB cars and are 2 seconds faster then everybody else who is not using them, then pick a different car. I don’t run them at all, because I run good times in other things. Like others have said, its kind of an unwritten rule.

Whether it be good bad or indifferent there are certain cars that are frowned upon when used online. I’m not bothered by people using those cars, you should use whatever you want. The issue I have is I’ve noticed a trend with drivers in the Xbow that can’t control their car and dive bomb in the corners. They also cause accidents on the straights as they are too slow compared to everyone else. Yes, there are drivers out there who can drive them well so this isn’t directed at those folks.

The Minis and Beetles are quite annoying in B class because most the time I see them they are overpowered and slide out of control in every corner causing accidents.

Personally I don’t like the x-bow cause I think its more of a go cart than a car, so if anything I laugh at the person driving it in the same way I laugh at people driving mopeds…

I firmly believe any car in the right hands can be tuned and driven to hit top 100. So unless your running top 100 times in lobbies with an oddball car and getting beaten by a noob driving an x bow, chances are you could improve your tune and/or your driving skills.

Yeah, I have heard it derisively called a ‘go cart’ the few times I have driven it.

That doesn’t really bother me, though, as I like go carts. It actually reminds me more of the old dune buggies I grew up with in Southern California. Which may be why I just think they’re cool.

Using LB cars like the F50 is BS unless you’re using it because you are unskilled and can’t keep up. The fact is if you are skilled you might as well just hot lap since that what you’ll be doing anyway. If you want to use them in races make a lobby yourself and race your friends if you have any.
Not using LB cars is as much a gentlemanly thing as not bumping or cutting in etc. That said, there are only a few cars I get annoyed with seeing in the hoppers.

Ah, so now the Xbow and the Ferrari F50 are ‘ungentlemanly’.

Good to know. Let me guess, the cars that you use (whatever they are) are okay?

Thought so.
