The answer truly is yes and no. On the plus side I am seeing many comparisons and it looks like performance is much better than the s model. But the downside for you would be not getting the full use the Xbox one x was intended for which is 4k. However if you have the money get the x for its performance its worth it. And who knows maybe you can catch a deal on a 4k tv and put it all together.
Not true. I used supersampling on my PC to get 4k output on to my 1080P monitor until I could afford a 4k monitor and the picture was improved, with less jaggies and a clearer picture. It wasn’t anything like true 4k but was certainly better.
Personally I wouldnt buy a Scorpio if I had a working Xbox and HD TV, only if I had or was planning to get a 4k TV, OR the Xbox I had was on its last legs.
Does the One X or 1080p TV support super-sampling? I tried super-sampling on my own 1080p monitor and it just refused to display anything at all. Would you spend $500 to find out? Besides, the TV will be connected over HDMI (probably) so the connection will be automatically optimised for the display it’s plugged into. So I’ll stand by my statement.
If you watch the Xbo X Presentation by Kareem Choudhry, there was mention that there will be visual improvements to the 1080p graphical layer over that of Xbox One . So yeah, you should get it even if you don’t have a 4K TV, giving you time to upgrade to 4k in the future.
If Forza is all that you play then I would have to say no don’t get it because Forza already runs at 1080p and 60fps. If you play a large variety of games though, such as shooters, adventures, open world games and also own a big TV. Then you will benefit more on a One X purchase.
Many, many games and most AAA titles don’t hit 1080p on an OG Xbox or the One S. Most of the big games run at 900p on Xbox, so it does not even reach the potential of your current TV set. With an Xbox One X you can be certain that practically every game moving forward will run at least at 1080p.
As for super sampling it does help smooth the jagged edges but more so if you are playing on a big TV set. If you game on something that is say between 30 and 40 inches while sitting 8 to 10 feet away, you will notice far less improvement than you would see on something that is 60 inches.
Why listen to others on here, you’re going to get both answers. If you have the cash, get it. If not or not interested then don’t. And does anyone read the specs of what it has? Just sayin.
It is not about the cash, it is about value for money. And I know every spec there is about the xbox one x, it just doesnt answer my (OP) question, is it worth to buy the X if you have a 1080p tv.
So I hope someone will reply who bought the X and hooked it up to a 1080p tv, instead of useless replys like this. Sorry, harsh but fair!
Yes … some of us actually do. And some of us actually research new technologies so that we understand what it is we’re about to shell out a couple thousand dollars for.
Exactly, on on top of that I am looking for the advice and experiences with the new console of fellow players who play the same game(s) to come to a solid conclusion about spending 500 euros.
So my hopes are still high from a answer of either a player who has this setup (Xbone X with 1080P tv/monitor) or one of the gamedevs who know firts hand what the X does with their game.
