Just curious how many of you pre-ordered Forza 7, but will wait until you get an Xbox One X to play it?
I am on the fence. I pre purchased Ultimate as I do every year. I love the game. I have also pre-ordered the One X.
Part of me thinks I should wait until I get it to fully enjoy the game in all its glory. The other part of me thinks, I really want to play it on 9/29 :-D.
Problem is its over a month apart. That is both a long time to wait, and a long time to play the game in 1080 ;).
After playing the demo in 4K/60 with everything maxed out on the PC it’s hard going back to anything else… FH3 upscaled to 4K on the One S doesn’t cut it anymore…
If the PC version of FM7 stays stable then I might hold off on the One X…
Yes and no lol. I got the Xbox One X Project Scorpio edition pre ordered and fully paid off finally lol. I cant wait to play FM7 in 4k but I cant wait to play it lol. I got the ultimate edition also.
Would miss out on way too much from release until the One X drops. I’ll enjoy it in 1080p for a month and then have a nice re-introduction to the game in 4K.
^This… enjoy Forza 7 for a month and then play Forza 7.5 4K super fancy edition after. Actually I have a Ultra high-end gaming PC that I rarely boot up so I’ll probably play it on there straight away. Just need to figure out how to play with all my Xbox buddies and set up the party chat. Have not tried the cross-platform stuff yet, apparently it’s pretty simple though.
I’m planning on trading in my Xbone to get the One X.
Will 4K mean anything to me if I don’t have a 4K TV? Will the game look any better on my non-4K LG playing thru Xbox One X than it would playing through Xbox One (non S)
Also:
Has there been word on whether all Xbox One games (and X360 backwards-compatible games) will continue to work on Xbox One X?
Yes, there are benefits you will enjoy playing the game on the One X and a 1080p TV that you won’t get on a One S and a 1080p TV. Shorter loading times. Smoother, more consistent frame rate. Better graphics (super sampled from 4K). Etc. Etc.
In short, you will enjoy all of the improvements and new technologies on the One X except for the true native 4K resolution.
Edit: As to your last question … think of the XBox One consoles as a ‘family’ of consoles … not different consoles. Any XBox One game … past, current and future … will play on all 3 consoles.
Well said. I have a 1080p TV, it does the job but eventually I will upgrade to a 4k with HDR. Though for now I do enjoy the benefits of higher powered systems on my TV.
I had a PS4 and upgraded to a PS4 Pro. Its not only smoother but the image clarity in games that support it helps smooth out the edges on the screen, FPS is more consistent with that boost function on the console for older games.
Now I have a Xbox One one, got it when it came out. It works, does the job but… Just like the PS4 Pro, I’ll enjoy the benefits of the Xbox One X when it gets released. Faster speeds, cleaner picture due to down sampling and improved content, to make things look cleaner/sharper. Eventually when the TV gets an upgrade I’ll enjoy the full benefits of it as well. Hopefully looking at a TV for early next year.
For now I’ll enjoy my game, and look forward to seeing the differences between the two consoles.
Can you explain how the Xbox One X can provide a ‘smoother, more consistent frame rate’ when the base Xbox One already provides a perfect locked 60fps at all times? Because if you can’t, it sounds like hyperbole.
Point taken. In my head I was trying to relay the differences between the One X and the Ones S on 1080p displays just overall in general and not explicitly with regard to FM7. Which was what I thought was being asked since he was considering a One X purchase. Frame rate for Forza 7 is the one area where there won’t be a difference as they both run at 60.
And yes, the ‘smoother, more consistent frame rate’ quote did come from T10’s marketing releases … but I believe it (for most games) given the significant increase in horsepower with the One X.
I am so hyped by the One X but i’m not owning any 4k monitor nor tv so…
I will get the One X for sure but since the game is very nice anyway on the fat One i’ll wait untill i’ll get a new 4k tv
I preordered a One X, but I don’t see the point in waiting. On the 29th I’m gonna dig in and have much fun as possible. When the One X arrives I’ll keep playing, but in 4k. Definitely going to have to download the 4k assets as soon as they let us to play with as little delay as possible.
4K vs. 1080p makes no difference to me… but I wasn’t planning on getting the game immediately, anyway. I just might end up getting it with an XOX later, but not because of 4K.
4K was so last year for me, this year I have been enjoying my games in 21:9 Ultrawide at 3440x1440 and both Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 7 work flawlessly at that resolution on my PC.
Does this provide you an actual wider field of view, or simply a less ‘tall’ field of view. If its wider, I’m thinking of configuring my 60" 4K for a custom resolution (on PC obviously). Apparently this is doable with my 1080ti. I do miss my triple screen Forza 4 setup. I don’t miss buying 4 consoles and 4 copies of the game. Yup, I even had a 360 and game disc setup on its own monitor as a rear view mirror. I don’t have kids, so you know… toys!
Naw OG Xbox one is working fine and barely 2 years old. No interest in 4K. I’ll get a One X when a good deal comes along down the road like I did the one. Game looks great from the demo so I’m not worried about all that.
