Ah, c’mon, it’s a bit more nuanced than that. People weren’t asking blindly for “more race cars”. They were voting on them since the suggestion hub got expanded (and even before then). The most vocal wanted specific race cars. Before this announcement, and currently, this car in particular has a whopping 13 votes…Other race cars are in the hundreds (many have been in Forza one way or another).
You and 12 others wanted to see this car…let’s put things in the proper perspective, shall we?
There’s no way for that to change. Not at all. Ever. None. Zilch.
It is a live-service game and it will not change. Never. None.
Though to be honest FH5 is a great game nonetheless, it’s just got some issues like any other game. The constant relapsing of cars returning from the previous game doesn’t help its case too.
I know some developers do it differently in regards to feedback but the fact of the matter is this is a developer under a first-party studio. They ain’t as independent as they used to be. Appreciate what you got and that’s it.
By the way your explosives and mining equipment joke is hilarious. Brings a smile.
Forza Horizon 5 is not a great game. At present time, I’m hesitant to even call it a good game. What it is, though, is technically competent. Perhaps even technically amazing; technically, of course, refers to the physics and the mechanics that drive the game and can’t be shown off in 4K HDR with RayTracing on a NVidia 4090 GTX graphics card. Forza Horizon 5 feels great to play - in fact, I’ll go so far as to say that the physics and accessibility is probably this game’s greatest asset.
But that same great feeling is also it’s greatest drawback, and the arguable cause of it’s downfall, because that good feel does yeoman’s work in obscuring and concealing the fact that the rest of the game is a half-baked mess that is as shallow as a nearly-empty glass of water. I’ve burned a bunch of words on details before, so let me summarize it with a proposal: imagine this game, with all of the same content and features, but it handles like The Crew, or Need For Speed 2015. Think it’d be so well-received? I doubt it. I doubt that very much.
Probably because the same people who wanted them are not the same people complaining them. Plus, did it ever occur to you that maybe people who wanted race cars in Horizon maybe didn’t want this one in particular? Surprising, I know.
Rehashed cars from previous titles?
I’m one of the people asking for them but not this rubbish.
Where are the Civic VTI eg, FTO GPvR and all the other highly demanded (and voted for) cars?
Lets put in perspective and tell me if they’re actually listening to our votes shall we!
Morris traveller 4 votes
Morris mini traveller 4 votes
And no mention of the woody
Now the 2 I listed
Honda Civic vti eg. 95 votes
Mitsubishi FTO GPvR. 91 votes
These two cars I listed aren’t even the highest voted for cars either (these are just 2 I would like to see return )
I don’t know maybe I’m missing something or maybe I was looking forward to this series far too much and it’s just a pathetic let down (IMO)
All it does is prove that there was a plan laid out before the game was released. The voting might affect future titles, but it has nothing to do with this game currently.
Intro you go for tea and biscuits then someone gives you the most OP car to start with, because why work your way up towards it when you can start with it and get the player numbers up for first hour (which will be the entirety of the story)
Lamborghini, Porsche and Ferrari to be paid for dlc
Bugatti and other hypercars are free in autoshow every other car from fh5 on monthly drip
More hearing aids and ‘cool’ prosthetics in wheel spins or just help yourself by purchasing the premium edition and upgrades for cars are none existent apart from paint
Emotes and badges are the prizes for taking part in a race as there’s no losers in forza horizon only winners
No leader boards or times for anything because people get offended if someone else is better
Plenty of prosthetics and socks to choose from and only dresses available for outfits and character selection has no gender just choose which ones make up you like better
In all fairness if you wanted a '46 Ford Wagon the Super Deluxe was the only option, they only built it in one trim level. Not super unlikely either, I’ve seen period pictures of '46-'51 Ford woodies in Mexico, especially on oilfields.
There were 6 options for Super Deluxes in 1946, it’s not like Ford only built wagons in 1946. Total production for the wagons was 16,960. How many ended up in Mexico? Who knows. Businesses may have had them in their fleet, maybe a few in personal hands. But I’m pretty sure Ford wasn’t flooding the market in Mexico at that time, especially considering the total production was barely over 15k. You would be more likely to come across a coupe or sedan than the wagon.
But that’s why I said you may have seen them in small numbers.
Production numbers cited from " The Encyclopedia of American Cars 1940-1970, Beekman House Publishing, New York"
I think we agree, I just interpreted your “premium model” comment incorrectly I thought you meant there was another base model Ford wagon available in '46, not that Ford only built wagons or that Ford was the only manufacturer of wagons.
To get back on topic though, I’m genuinely regretting spending $150AUD on the Premium Edition. The content PG has been putting out is getting progressively worse and has been since FH4. Maybe the dire community reaction to this update will make them see the light but I doubt it.
Yea, I was going to comment on that. I know there was only 1 wagon in the lineup, but Ford considered that wagon (and any super deluxe) as a premium model due to the work involved in making it and it’s cost vs return (profit).
That was my intended point…lol.
The Tudor or Fordor (yes, that is the correct spelling…lol) were mid range and far more profitable. They also saw higher production numbers.
I know that the Woody is returning content, but I would have rather seen a coupe at some point. Yea, at this point it seems as the “Captain of the ship” has blinders on…
Honestly, a lot of the returning models are cars that could’ve (and should’ve) been in the base game, and I’d hoped there’d be a bit more variety when it comes to the older stuff by now. The '59 Caddy and '55 150 were welcome additions in FH4, but the Caddy has disappeared along with the '49 Merc and '58 Plymouth. Most of the classics are the same ones we’ve had for 3-5 games now.
As for Mexican cars, PG seems to be lost trying to find “local content” in settings outside of North America and Europe. Their offering of Australian cars in FH3 was pretty paltry, FH5 seems even worse.
I hate to say it, but if things don’t make a pretty drastic improvement over the next few months this’ll likely be my last Forza title. I’ve honestly had more fun playing the older titles lately than FH5, unlocked the FE Viper then barely touched the Festival Playlist for the rest of the month. I doubt PG or Microsoft really care since they’ve got ~$900AUD out of me over the years for the various Collector’s/Premium editions of the games. I’m just don’t feel like I’m getting much value for what I’ve paid anymore and garbage Playlists like this month’s are hardly an incentive to come back.
They need to rework the festival playlist, so there are no “exclusive” rewards. New and already released new cars get added to backstage, where from the festival playlist you can earn a pass and choose your reward. Add all the cars that are going to get recycled from fh4 straight to the autoshow when licenses clear up, be it 0 cars per month or 50. If you’re going to recycle cars and count them as exclusive, they need to be pre FH4 as they will actually be new cars for the majority of the player base.
