Save game lost after syncing

I havent played horizon 2 for a couple of months. and yesterday i decided to play it again. I loaded like normal, but it started to sync with the cloud in the menu. It took ages, and it was stuck at 99%, so i turned off the game, and loaded again, then the game started from the beginning! I was so frustrated that I turned the xbox off and waited until the next day. Did some methods that I found online so I could sync again, which worked. Again it was stuck at 99%, but this time I let it sync for hours. Finally after maybe 1 hour, the sync was complete, but then the game started yet again from the beginning.

Have I lost my save file? When I go to save data in horizon 2 it says it is 87MB. Isn’t that quite large for a new game? So IMO it seems like the save game is locally, but not in the cloud. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have spent so many hours in this game, and I don’t want to lose all my cars, and my level in the game.

I also saw someone on a forum saying that if the save game is long gone, that I could contact turn 10 for some credits to get started again. Cant really say I am that motivated to start fresh from the beginning with absolutely no money or cars. Though I didn’t find anyway to contact turn 10.

My Brother and Sister in law lost their game file over 50+ hours of gameplay and Cars. This is unacceptable that they don’t do multiple saves to protect the data. And Turn 10s answer when we called support was “Sorry This happens” SORRY FOR MESSING UP A SIMPLE CONCEPT OF SAVING DATA? This says a lot about the developers and the Level of Crap they Give to their customers.
