Sorry for the double reply…

Switching from triple screen to 1080 (I’m running 3 1080p monitors) the graphics load is lower by about 1,500 MB. I can run the game at high, full RT with RTGI and so far, the home space stayed put at 80FPS.

Turning the wheel on and going out to the track.

I also wonder if triple screen is where the long pauses are coming from? The game didn’t pause once while I was messing around with the settings. Investigating now…

The virdict…

At high + RTAO + RTGI the game was still in the mid 50’s for me. I dropped it to low + RTAO + RTGI and the game was pretty much at the 60 Vsync cap of 82 FPS. When the full grid was on screen, things fell into the low 70’s and the 1% lows took a hit, but once the pack thinned out the game didn’t drop any frames.

About my configuration. It looks like Forza just doesn’t play nice with triples. As much as I like having the expanded FOV, the hit on this game is tremendous. Playing around with the graphics settings just to see what the numbers would be (and I happened to crash the game looking at Ultra settings. Oops) High didn’t even get into the 7000 MB memory usage ranges. So like others have said, the game just isn’t optimized to run triples.

Too bad getitng it to run at 1080p full screen without stretching the image requires me to turn Nvidia surround off… :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Mugello really benefits from RTGI

OK… High full bells and whistles, this game looks incredible after the update. The car reflections is just amazing, the lighting is no longer drab, and even the interiors aren’t overly dark. Good stuff!

I’m going to miss it when I go back to triples. :sob:

@FTSx1nsane I was kidding but… After seeing RTGI at full tilt. Um… I wonder how this bug fared. If nothing else the reflection will be a lot sharper. If you have a PC and the capability to run it in full RTGI what does the bug look like now?

No RTGI in car interior view.

It does look fantastic. I love the way it really shows the shadow cast by the brake drum inexplicably floating in mid air

And in these next two shots you can really see how it emphasizes the phantom brake caliper as it hovers next to the vehicle.

Top notch stuff.

The view out of the car was brighter. I didn’t see any RTGI effects inside the car.

Speaking of the cockpit view. Why does it have such a high performance hit? Outside the car, the game had very high 1% low numbers. Once I use the interior views the 1% lows barely cleared 60.

The video of this bug was sent by a friend of mine, I just saved it to youtube. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ahhhh yesss, seems like a worthy update

Its probably because of the extra mirrors, theres also various textures that all need to react differently to light and shadows as opposed to outside the car, theres a constant window reflection going on, multiple working gauges etc.
Theres just more things going on, its probably more of a cpu issue and i wonder if rtgi isnt working inside on purpose rather than it being a bug.

Why is this only available for pc… heck if I had a gaming computer it would just keep popping breakers in my home . Yea I know junk place to live but it’s cheap… idk who’s bright idea was to wire a 2 br unit on one breaker. So dumb… but anyways.

Why cant Xbox series x be used to its full potential and give us visual upgrades and stunning frame rates. Not all of us can afford those big gaming rigs like some of y’all got. Feel like consoles are being forgotten about and could use some love to.

Initially I bought a used parts and parts on sale. My first build cost about $600. Granted this was back in November of 2014.

Maybe someday I’ll have me one. Been away from pcs for so long since xp days. Today’s gaming technology really has improved, wish they’d build consoles w the good stuff or give us the ability to.

Bout the only thing I use my laptop for is paying bills online and that’s even a hassle always auto updating and using performance when I need it else where. Basically unusable until it’s don’t doing whatever… Makes me mad sometimes you wana do something quickly and it has other plans.

The series x is a phenomenal piece of kit for the money. I have one and a ÂŁ3500 gaming PC (built a few years ago when component prices went crazy)

The difference running FM23 is relatively minimal to my eyes. I soon forget which platform I’m playing on.

It totally can, I don’t believe the console’s full potential is being utilized ATM. It takes time to learn the limitations and fully exploit its abilities.

However, you know how it is in the gaming industry - as with all industries, they force consumers to buy upgraded hardware to enjoy ALL the bells and whistles.
No different with the Xbox One X - seriously underutilized console and Series X was released too soon I believe.

I agree I mean look how much graphics and game play improved over the generations of consoles. I feel like this game is still using 360 or at best series s graphics. But I know the artwork takes time and money so… guess we just take what we can get

After reading the comments about RTGI performance, I am sure I won’t try it out with my 3080. I will give it a try in a few months with a 5080. But oh boy I hope I don’t have to replace my 5950x to be able to enjoy it. All this RT stuff is sadly also so CPU heavy. Maybe I have to completely replace everything before I can really enjoy it. I will most probably get myself a R9 9950x3d, new ram, motherboard etc. I will have to replace everything. But then I should be good for another 4-5 years or something.

If anyone wants to see exactly where the RTGI effects are happening. Set it to low. You’re going to see blurry film grain looking effects where the RTGI effect would normally effect the scene. Also you’ll see what can only be described as a defrosting effect when a static scene loads up.

It also will look horrible. LOL.
