So I’m running the game on 3840x2160 all on Ultra with full Raytracing on. Yet the graphics look kinda mid both on showroom and racetrack, however on racetrack is even worse. Car colors are flat and not even the same tone as in showroom.
Forza keeps posting pictures of the game on their social media, and the graphics look amazing and very detailed, however, I’m nowhere near that detailed, it all just looks plain cheap.
Is this the way the graphics are or is there something going on?
I’m running on i9-9900K 3.6ghz, and Radeon RX 6950 XT.
What other racers do you own that look better? I’m asking for an honest answer, without mentioning GT7 it is not available to PC users.
FM7
The images they post on social media all appear to have RTGI, but we don’t have this option lol. Considering that this is a performance dependent option, I hope it can be used as part of the camera mode and cinema mode
Its two different types of lighting. In the showroom you’ve got multiple fluorescent or led light sources, outside in the day it’s just the sun. Itl also look different on track depending on time of day and weather. Also the angle of the camera looking at the car makes a difference too.
Neither of those photos look too different, and they both look leagues better then my xbx on performance.
True but if you have the bees knees PC it should look like the posts on Ex in either one, looking at the OP’s pics the jaggies are horrendous and nothing like the promo shots.
It’s like those photo’s that real estate agents post of the houses for sale. They look fantastic in the ad’s but when you get there they look nothing like and much smaller than made out to be online
Forget about the car, just look at the Exit
The game simply doesn’t look like what’s being sold. It’s not a bug or your setup, it’s misleading marketing.
As for the mismatch in the showroom to outside, the screenshots you provide compare the side of the car in direct sunlight to the side of the car in shadow. When directly lit, the base color of a car will be brighter while in shadow the reflections will be generally more obvious instead.
I’m running a I9 13900K with a 7900XTX and the game looks good imho (I keep resolution scale at 150%). The outside of tracks is no so good but I guess you’ll have a big brick of a game if they put high res model there as well. Forza Motosport colors palette is keep on a more neutral tone compared to FH5, for example. Both Automobilista 2 and Assetto Corsa Competizione got lesser detailed models (even if they are more accurate imho).
I wonder of the 6950 has the chops to deliver RT at ultra? Anyone else has this card, and what are your results with RT on?
(Changed cause I didn’t reply directly to the OP.)
Nope: even the 7900XTX got an hard time with RT on ultra. AMD card lag behind nVidia on RT
I thought as much, but I am not in a position to say someone elses equipment might not be up to the task. My build has its shortcomings.
I got a 7900XTX and is a very good card for it’s price tag (got it a 900€). Rasted is wonderful, got plenty of ram video and I can use raytracing as long as I don’t put some fancy features like pathtracing (Cyberpunk and Alan Wake 2) or put raytracing on ultra setting, expeciality since I play in 3440x1440. I still belive that Raytracing in FM is very over rate, but if an AMD card user like to turn it on he must switch to the latest 24.4.1. Adrenalin (early version give a lot of problem) and avoid putting all raytracing feature to ultra.
Last night I hopped on Assetto Corsa to see if I can get Forza’s FFB to feel similar. I needed a frame of reference.
After a couple of hours, I turned FM23 back on…
I think I found the mid graphics. I mistakenly discarded the bliss of ignorance perk.
Mildly modded Assetto Corsa looks, runs, plays and sounds better. Even without sound mods.
Also, up until now I was mostly comparing FM23 to RaceRoom only in the looks department. This was comparison that Forza was barely winning. From what I gather R3E is soon to change that with some post processing effects. KW Studios has recently been using Turn 10’s play book of showing better graphics in their videos. The difference is, their verson of “soon” is more believable than Turn 10’s.
