Although the unofficial version of RTGI
The diffuse reflection is noisy, but it is still very amazing, when will there be an official version of RTGI?

Looks decent enough. I thought RTGI was only for replays, menu and Photo mode?

Looks good, but the rough metal surfaces still seem to struggle.
If they manage to put out a version of this next year, that would be great, then they only have to fix the low LODs from the trees and the game would actually look next gen.

The game now has no RTGI, and neither the match nor the replay has RTGI. RTGI is implemented on a PC by a special method.

Maybe we get official RTGI when the RTX 5xxx series is released.

I also hope for Nvidia framegen and FSR 3.

There must be someting new about the 5xxx series, that makes ppl move on to it.

Soooo, I donā€™t suppose RTGI is coming to Xbox Series X? Let alone improve the current look and resolve bugs on RT reflections and shadows?

I doubt my particular rig can run RTGI in any capacity. Iā€™ll consider it to be Forza Motorsportā€™s version of CP2077ā€™s path tracing. I can hack it and get it to run with my 3080, butā€¦ Well lets just say Gumby stop motion has triple the smoothness. LOLā€¦

If it can be contained to the home space, Iā€™ll try it there. In gameā€¦ LOL. Not with what I have.

It also smells shifty to me that, more than a year after launch, a feature is being added (on one platform) that aims to finally get the game looking a bit closer to how it was advertised pre-launch.

Those pre-launch promo videos that said ā€œall in-game 4K footageā€ should have also mentioned: ā€œyour retail copy of the game will not look like this until at least a year after launch (and even then, only if youā€™re on one platform with top specs).ā€

Looks like RTGI is going to be in all modes. On the Forza Support site they had this question and answer exchangeā€¦

Q: Where is RTGI used in the game?

A: When enabled, RTGI will apply to all gameplay and cinematics, as well as your Homespace and Photo Mode.

Looks like I was wrong about where RTGI will appear but, does that surprise anybody?

The Series X is claimed to be the equivalent of an AMD RX 6600 XT. Itā€™s on the list of capable GPUs that can run RTGI. Hopefully they can find a way to make it happen.

Probably only in the 30fps quality mode, and at the expense of a downgrade from the current 4k

Well, thatā€™s where I think my rig will be if I attempt to run RTGI. So occasionally, there will be some company in the ā€˜Cinematic 30FPS gaming puristsā€™ crowd, if they are still around and preaching that.
