Retractable Tops on Convertibles? - Weather

I’ve been wondering, since weather like rain and overcast skies are confirmed, are convertibles going to have flexible tops this time around? Personally I would love this feature and hopefully it would be available for all modern convertibles like the Ferrari California. Anybody else hoping for this feature? I mean what would they do without implementing it? Have convertibles drive around in the rain with their tops down like nothing is wrong?

If convertibles are in the game at all this feature would be pretty essential, since nobody wants to drive around in the rain in an open-top vehicle. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s probably in their best interests to have the ability to open/close the roof anyway, since if they’re aiming for 100% Forzavista in the core series they’re gonna have to animate the roof sooner or later.

Challenge: Get to the Hôtel de Paris parking lot in Monte Carlo before it starts raining on your Modena leather interior.

A grand suggestion. After you Sir

This is something that I would love to see, especially since weather is making a debut in Forza.

It’s the next gen. We get snorkels. Laser scanned, wind tunnel tested, high polygon snorkels. With orange peel effect.

Yeah, I hope movable tops make it in.

Are there any convertibles in Forza Motorsport 5? I know there are topless cars; but, I can’t recall a convertible. Maybe Turn 10 is steering away from them altogether?

Have you played Horizon 1? Most of the convertibles in that game were new.

Nope, none at all except the Ferrari California in that’s only in Forzavista and not actual gameplay.

Hmm, that’s what I was thinking. I’m going to go and take a guess that Turn 10 Studios is making an effort to weed out convertibles and that the only open top vehicles would be those that have no canopy or have a topless trim. Again, only a guess.

I just checked, and I counted 8, including DLC.

Sure enough. I hadn’t had a chance to look.

TDU2 had opening windows and retractable tops, and that game was last-gen. If FH2 doesn’t include this stuff with the new weather system, I’ll be disappoint.

Would be a good feature like GTA V has

I highly doubt they’d get rid of convertibles. That would be rubbish. I mean think, this a sunny Mediterranean paradise, why wouldn’t convertibles be included?

Well, so far convertibles haven’t meant anything but lower PI values because of their added weight.

They don’t mean anything? Drive in one with the top down in first person view.

Yeah, but it’s all about the experience. Ever played OutRun in a hardtop vehicle? It just isn’t the same.

Absolutely, I agree. I’m only considering things that Horizon 2 may have in store for us, concerning convertibles. As with most, I’d love to have some excellent drop tops at the ready to convert back and forth - a Forza first!
