650s Spider has a roof. But should not. [See post #101]

I’m no rocket scientist but the 650s coupe is already in the game and it has a roof so why does the 650s Spider have a roof as well. Like you could have added the 675 LT Spider with a roof and I wouldn’t have cared but you added the exact same car but gave it a roof as well. The 650s Spider should not have a roof it’s a really poor decision and a terrible idea. Please fix the car so it doesn’t have a roof so players will not be angry. It’s a wasted car slot and either needs to be removed from the game or fixed. That’s just my thoughts.

The guy at Playground Games who thought of a closed roof 650s spider as paid DLC deserves a pay rise.

I thought the same thing… I bought it and as soon as i saw the roof i was like… ‘uh… what?’. I’m not even gonna bother driving/upgrading it. Since it’s literally identical to the standard version accept it has lines on the roof. This might just be the first time i’ve been actually ANOYED by the addition of a DLC car. I actually liked the idea of the 650S Spider. But with the roof up it makes no sense at all.

More T10/PG awesomeness, with yet another wasted/duplicate (for all intents and purposes) car slot. Didn’t all the convertible versions of the various supercars (R8, Gallardo Performante, others) actually have the roof down during gameplay in the original Horizon? It must be a hardware thing. We all wanted live weather changes and so forth, and it appears that in order to get them, we’ve had to sacrifice a bunch of other stuff. Moral of the story: be careful what you wish for.

This is one of the very few truly annoying things about recent Horizon titles. The same thing happened in FH3 with a few cars that are supposed to be convertibles. In FH4, we have the following cars that are actually convertibles…

BMW '11 Z4 Sdrive
Ferrari California T
Mazda '13 MX-5
Mazda '94 Miata

Both the Z4 and the California can be top down, but ONLY in Forzavista. The two Miatas are ONLY convertibles in real life (no solid roof options). Now we add the McLaren 650S Spider to the list of cars that should be top down but aren’t. To be honest here, having these beautiful cars only having top down in Forzavista is an insult, since it is obvious that the digital models can be used that way. FH1 had quite a few nice convertibles in it (notably the 2010 Corvette GS and 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia Spider). Even FH2 had a top down '90 Mazda Miata.

Do you know what the difference is between the McLaren 650S coupe and the 650S Spider? Three black lines running across the roof. That’s it. It’s basically a constant reminder what we have what could be another beautiful convertible but can’t because PG can’t be bothered to put the top down digital model in actual gameplay. PG could easily make top up/down an option in the upgrade garage like they do with the Holden Sandman van, the Ford Bronco, and the International Scout.

Another benefit to having proper convertibles is our drivatars. PG goes out of their way to allow us to customize our drivers, and having a good assortment of open top cars is a wonderful way to showcase them better.

PG/T10…if you are reading this, PLEASE put the top down digital models of these cars into the game where we can actually drive them that way. Forzavista proves that they exist, so why can’t we have them?

Yeah that kind of flies in the face of my “technical limitations” theory, doesn’t it? If they have no trouble modelling dashes and driver movements in those trucks (which is why I always assumed it was a technical issue), then why not in the supercars and sports cars?

Like so many other things in the Forza world, we will never know. Until new hardware comes out, perhaps.

Yes but what if my top hat blows away when the roof is down?

Don Joewon Modded FH3 and ,him alone, could make converted cars accessible… A modder. + ForzaVista anywhere.

High hopes (which we should never have with forza anymore) would be it’s a hint of a new feature coming where we can put the top down & drive.
Realistically it’s probably a fail on their end where they forget the final form comes with top down.

I just submitted a support ticket requesting the ability to actually drive these cars in top down configuration, since the digital models already exist in Forzavista. Everyone who would like to see this feature added should also submit a request. Support tickets are more likely to be seen by someone that can actually do something about it.

That’s noble of you but they don’t listen so I’m not going to bother wasting my time…

Wow… that’s almost funny.

Players: ‘Oh come on, i8 Roadster and Performante Spyder? Paying for the same car without a roof feels like a rip off!’
Devs: ‘Challenge accepted’

Thanks everyone. Let’s keep this trending. All convertible cars should have a roof option.

Who ever is in charge of dlc cars must not have a functional brain or basic car knowledge to include a Spider with a roof On things like these make me less likely to buy the next Forza game there was literally 10 other McLarens they could’ve added

Its like the more loyal the fan base gets, the less the devs listen to and care about them.
If the next installment is anything like this one, I would defiantly regret getting it.
I feel like Forza isn’t even progressing anymore, it has just become a game that they throw a new skin on to make a quick buck.
Its like a racing game version of the COD franchise.

Come on, now. The two cars are as different as night and… well, later that same night.

Yeah that is pretty bad. At least make it an aero and appearance option.
