I was wondering what the proper way to report crash teams and random people that just crash players is? Do I need to save the replay or anything like that? I just want to make sure the report gets to turn 10 I know they take crash teams very seriously. On another note if turn 10 would give us back our custom public lobbies this wouldn’t be a problem.
Well they need to take a more proactive stance against these types of ppl. It’s been getting worse and worse. If they are going to force us to race in the hoppers they need to police them so we can actually enjoy their excellent game.
Edit: or do something like rockstar did and give em a dunce hat for a few days and make em race with others like themselves.
It’s no worse than it was in the day of the original Forza Motorsport. In a game genre where there is no way for an impartial system to determine who is at fault for an incident, it is up to each participant to do the best they can to play to the best of their ability. Again, if you think a player is conducting themselves in a form that is detrimental to gameplay and is in violation of Xbox Live service agreements, utilize the Xbox Live reporting features.
id have to disagree, GT has (or had, havent played it in a long time) a great system whereby it would detect who was at fault for the indident and reduce their power for 5 seconds. now i know this doesnt solve the issue of people who wait a lap to get you on the next pass, but they could simply ghost anyone who isnt keeping up with laps. im sure there’s ways to solve the rammers.
Who is “they”? Turn 10 staff? They’ve have enough to do. Reviewing replays takes hours and hours, especially with people complaining about phantom instances.
You should have seen the moron we encountered at my friends place. His gamertag is backwards for something very offensive, and he’s gotten away with it for a long time. Not to mention his appaling behaviour online. He’s been reported several times but still pops up. Unfotunately there’s not much we can do apart from xbox live report.
In race: note gamertag. If you can’t spot it, get others in on trying to figure it out by talking about it. Then talk to the bad racer, referring to their GT, about how to race clean. Most I’ve encountered will clean it up. I never act badly toward a bad racer to “teach them a lesson” - that doesn’t work in real life, and it doesn’t work in here, and it leaves you open to being reported yourself. I expect a bad driver is MORE likely to report bad driving than a good driver, just like in real life.
Those that want to just troll, in the lobby find their GT, click into it, choose “Report”. I recommend taking the time to type in a short description of their issue: sure, you’ll miss the start of the next race, but you’ll be doing good for the game.
The real trolls know to dodge the lobby after a race where they’re getting addressed by GT. So I’ll typically try and spot them in the post-race summary, and write down their GT. If they’re gone when the lobby reopens, then I’ll just wait and later on will report them from XBox console.
Reporting is not instantly acted on; I’ll often see the troll for the rest of the day. But they’re generally gone from my racing the next day.
To report from the console:
go to Friends - Find someone - type in their GT - report. Move cursor right to enter text box; press B when done to get out of text box and back to where you can submit.
This is the best response. There’s a huge difference between what appears to be a purposeful wreck and trolling. give them the benefit of the doubt and ask them if they saw you. Just yesterday around the final turn at sebring I took an aggressive but clean line around the second place guy to get around him sure enough he ‘pits’ me actually quite literally cause I spin and ended up in pit row to finish 7th…
I was in party chat at the time and just irate. I switched over to lobby to basically yell at the kid (but calmly checked if he had a mic first) and get him kicked from the lobby. Turns out he didn’t have a mic but I got a sorry message a minute later. Turns out he just slide out from taking too much speed trying to hold me off purely accidental and it wasn’t the “im not letting you pass tap thats pretty common.” Most people try to race as clean as possible and if given the benefit of the doubt will try harder to race better.
If there’s someone causing issues in a lobby see if you can talk to them give them a race to redeem themselves. If that doesn’t work try to get them kicked from the lobby and block the gamertag so you don’t see them again. I only use the report feature for the few drivers that wait a lap down to wreck.
There is no way for them to dodge a saved replay. Watch the replay, note gamertag, then report and block. I have over 100 trolls blocked using this method.
Report. Give reason - optional. Block. Done. Lobbies I’m in are getting cleaner and cleaner by the day. Wall riders reported, crash teams reported. Save your own replays and get their names that way. Search for them and get rid forever.
The report function does not produce results as far as I know. I’ve reported many idiots on there intentionally wrecking others only to see them back on later that day or the next day.
The ‘report’ function is not instantaneous, and likely requires more than one person reporting them in some categories to cause any action. The report function brings them to the attention of the XBox live policy enforcement team who need to review the incidents in question.
The ‘block’ function on the other hand is instantaneous. Block, leave lobby, join another lobby.
Sure, it takes a while, but just like people posting complaints here on this forum, tracking down the information is sometimes like pulling teeth. Use the proper method: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/abuse/
The “Report” function reports the player to Xbox Live. The “Block” function will stop that player from appearing in your lobbies.
Make sure that you’re doing both when reporting a player.
In a couple days the Xbox Live update will put the “Recent Players” list back into action and backing out of the lobby will no longer be a way for the trolls to avoid other players.
Just to clear up any confusion I am specifically referring to the “trolls” and crash teams. There’s a big diff between a bad driver and ppl crashing others on purpose. I don’t have a prob with bad drivers, everyone has to start somewhere and learn how to drive.
Yeah your. gonna want to report for cheating, put something simple like “intentional crashing/wrecking” in the description. Also blocking them should prevent you from ever seeing them again, has worked for me so far. Not sure how quickly reported players get looked into but I’m sure it would take more than 1 report…
