I’ve followed the correct procedures Report/Block with evidence where possible and what is the result?
If I report someone it takes up my time even if it is in the interest of the collective good. If I block someone I limit my access to lobbies in which they are racing so who is getting the punishment exactly?
if you report someone they aren’t banned immediately…it needs to be investigated first…if the report is done correctly, and the person who incestigates is around to ban if needed
otherwise anyone would just report someone for whatever reason…too fast, etc
pretty sure blocking someone just blocks communication and not anything else
Thanks for the reply. I wasn’t aware of that about blocking I had read elsewhere on here that it meant that they were totally blocked ie in terms of you joining the same lobby.
I understand that bit about investigations taking time. I’d rather not report at all as it’s time consuming for everyone involved. Having said that I do think we should make a distinction between say someone crashing you in a videogame and someone else sending messages containing personal slurs in the ‘real world’
I’ve reported reported and reported some more yet I’m still torpedoed out of the lead by a deliberate ram from a non braking missile/idiot hell bent on making carnage and it’s always the same people but NOTHING is done. Very annoyed.
I miss the old Vote to Kick system that was present in Forza Motorsport 4.
As for reporting, I don’t bother anymore; if I’m in a Hopper and somebody’s being rough on everyone I either find a different lobby or boot up Rocket League.
I think snowowl will answer to your thread. He will tell you what to do. Basically you’ll have to save the replay and send the details to him.
He will make sure the T10/Xbox team will deal with the crasher.
Yeah basically waste 15 min of the little time you have to play to TRY and get justice and in the end you could do this 24/7 and not even put a dent in the amount of wreckers on line. Not worth the time to me.I just move on.Theres always another to take his place.I dont have a poor attitude im just a realist.Eventually there will be less and less wreckers in the game but thats only due to how old the game is or any game is for that matter.Older it is the less interest given.Nothing to do with reporting.99 percent of people dont have the time to report.
Even if it was 15 minutes?!..That’s nothing, it takes longer to read every post in this thread than it does to report someone. TRUST ME, I was just as frustrated about two months ago. I didn’t know what the process was, Snowowl took me through it step by step, and I started reported people. I know I’m only one person, but I’m sure i’m just one of MANY who report wreckers. I can definately say that there’s been a real difference in the lobbies. Yeah you may get the random moron who’s stuck on ruining everyones night, but all you have to do in believe in the process. It works man.
I’d say 15 minutes is a little off considering it takes less than 10 seconds to save a replay after a race. Then going to your saved replays and uploading it via the path you choose which can take as much as a minute. I’d estimate around 3 minutes total…and that is including sending the 10 saved videos i had. Not much time spent to “help” my fellow racers if you ask me.
Honestly it doesn’t take long to report. Save the replay, share it and PM SnowOwl.
If we want a cleaner environment to race we have to be proactive in supporting the process to make it so.
I think it’s unfair to complain about what T10 is or is not doing if as a community we don’t do our part.
Things won’t change unless the time is taken to make it so.
Reporting is necessary and a big THANKYOU to SnowIOwl for making himself available to the community to get the ball rolling when people abuse the privelage of participating in the online Forza community.
I’ve sent some Private Messages out regarding this thread, so check your PM’s.
When there is a report done in the Xbox One Dashboard on a gamertag, that information goes to Xbox Live’s Policy Enforcement Team (PET) and ultimately can (and does) result in a player’s account with Live being suspended. That is not just a single game like Forza Motorsport 6, but Live itself.
It is pretty amazing to see a Reputation on a gamertag being RED with the notation of “Avoid me” when they’re just beginning to play FM6. That is reports of the unsportsmanlike behavior having already made an impact in games other than FM6. The PET folks have the power and systems to observe gamertags they receive a lot the Dashboard Reports on, even while playing and listening even to their comments.
When properly documented information (check your PM’s folks) is submitted to Turn 10, those result in FM6 suspensions of accounts in this game only. As with regular bans, they are walked through bad behavior/unsportsmanlike conduct time-outs from participating in multiplayer, online functions: (1) seven days or 168 hours from the time a Turn 10 employee places the ban; (2) 30 days (720 hours from the time placed) and (3) 20 years from the date the ban is put in place. Obviously, the third one is final not only because FM6 probably won’t be around in 2036, and but neither will Xbox One.
We know such obvious crashing is not acceptable in our game. We need to participate, without admonishment or threats in the races, in gathering the proper information. There are no magic “changes” which will eliminate these people - like crash detection, etc. - so we need to step up for everyone’s benefit.
I don’t understand why this “properly documented information” had to be PM’d to people.
Is the forza specific ban process an actual formal process accessible to the general public or just a closely guarded secret given only to a select few?
I get that you’re somewhat a volunteer so it’s impractical to expect you to action any and all reports that could be sent your way, and it’s fantastic that you do any at all, but it’s rather disappointing if the only ways to report a wrecker/griefer are:
the xbox reporting method, which from my experience is very ineffective for the purposes of taking action against wreckers/griefers - just one of many examples is gamertag “[Mod Edit - D]”, 5 days after myself and others reported this person they were still happily and blatantly wrecking people
an informal and undocumented “i know a guy in turn10” method
Which going back to the title of this thread makes the OP comments rather valid. Not to mention that even if you went #2 there is the problem of the rediculously small limit on the number of saved replays you can keep at once and the arbritrary time one would need to retain these for the purposes of reporting.
It should be as easy as it is to report an offensive livery or “vote to kick” but to the best of my knowledge no such thing exists for the case of wreckers/griefers.
It is time consuming but please do what im sure Snowowl sent you in the PM. I do it along with plenty others so if we all band together we can limit the wreckers by either making them realize they have to race clean to race or not race at all. At the end of your racing day send the info Snowowl requested and they will be taken care of. It really does work how Owl explained.
I don’t think T10 want to get into the role of martinet when it comes to racing - that will spoil the intent of Forza, which is racing, period! I report when folks cuss at me after a race for what they perceive to be a bad move on my part. Don’t know what became of my reports, but I really don’t care, if T10 doesn’t!!!
Moved up to Profession today. But most the crashers from Enthusiast have too it seems. Add to the deliberate bumpers already in it basically means if you don’t start say 10th or above you will get hammered and end up at the back of the results. It’s very disheartening to play when it’s like that.
