Reporting people

I just wonder if blocking and reporting actually does anything at all because without Microsoft looking at video evidence, which is not practical, it is just someone saying someone else did something, do they really care? Yes blocking does because hopefully you wont be matched with them again. But any other action, who knows… I say this because yesterday i was racing and some idiot kept deliberately turning into me, and waited a lap down just to take me out when i was in the lead. I reported and blocked, but i am yet to see anyone that i report and block have anything other than a “Good reputation”. By now, surely some of these reps should have gone down as someone wrecking constantly will have racked up complaints…

I’m guessing it’ll take more than one or two bad reports to drop someone’s rep. Maybe it’ll be a year or two before you’ll start seeing any less than good reps.

MS has advertised this as one of the selling point during their early campaign for the X1.
The matchmaking system was supposed to take heavily in account your type of playing, and pair you with gamers of the same kind.
(As far as I remember the advertising campaign and the launch reveal day).

So normally, if you block or report a player, it should resolve your problems.
I don’t think anything is actually done from the reports unless it is heavy stuff accompanied by written reports.
But if it worked it would be brilliant.

Little problem is it does not seem to work very well.
I keep seeing people I am trying to avoid, the same way I am sure people keeps meeting me when they don’t want to.

It is difficult to do a lot about trolling.
The best system would be one that make sure to group the trollers together.
(I would love to witness such a group to be honest, seeing them getting some of their own medicine).

its shocking how many people smash you online i just block them and never seen them since same with the wall riders blocked aswel problem solved

I find it amusing that so many of you think that reporting someone for this will do any good. I also think it’s hilarious that you consider it cheating when someone runs you off the road. Don’t get me wrong, I hate it as much as anyone else but it’s part of the game so just deal with it. Microsoft has plenty of other issues to worry about and doesn’t need tons of reports of people racing dirty. Reporting every single player that upsets you is just as immature as the kids running people off the road on purpose.

Edit: Really Turn 10… the word C R A P is censored?

Really? Trying to enjoy your Forza online experience is immature because you don’t want to keep getting rammed by all the Jeep SRT8’s? Please tell me you’re being facetious!

We’re talking about crash teams, intentional wreckers. We’re not talking about racers that are of lower skill.

And maybe you’re right in that Turn 10 has better things to do. But if I’m not going to buy the next game because of all these tardmonkeys, then maybe they need to stop developing cars for a second and corral the aggravating players into their own little version of bumper cars.

Totally agree!

(and we’ve raced together on private races your a clean racer)

I said Microsoft has better things to do than to sift through all of your false reports. Driving dirty isn’t against the Xbox Live Terms of Service, so there’s nothing to report. But since you mentioned it, it’s been 3 weeks since Turn 10 BROKE the Single Player game by adding in Road America. So yes, they DO have better things to do with their time. I’m pretty tired of waiting on them to fix the game.

Also do you really have any credibility when it comes to calling those players who wreck people immature, when your Gamertag is “BigRunnyDump”?

Once you’ve put some trolls on your block list be sure to take some time to bring up your block list (menu button on friends screen). Check the videos of people on their friends lists. Since the game auto uploads a clip every time you roll a car end over end you can scroll through fast enough and see what kind of behavior their friends exhibit in lobbies and preemptively block them too. I usually just look for the Cherokee or Range Rover flipping in the thumbnail, eyeball the video to see if it went down in a lobby (look for chat pop ups), and block 'em too. Birds of a feather and all. You’ll never have to worry about meeting them at all.

So here’s a notion… T10 has moderators to moderate this forum and keep it clean and troll free. Seems to me they could have one or two people to do the same in the online hoppers.

Please keep in mind all the moderators on these forums are volunteers, just as those who check reports like was done with the CrashTeam in FM4. Most have regular jobs, families, etc., and give of their free time to help others in the games. There is much more work behind the scenes than one might suspect.

Here’s an example: http://forums.forza.net/turn10_postst5970_I-seam-to-be-Banned.aspx

As I’ve said before, follow the directions from Xbox LIVE Support and REPORT these people so they can be handled.
