In Autovista you can interact with the cars and certain models in that mode have the option to remove the roof entirely, S2000, Pagani Cinque, Etc. Is there a way to keep the roof off? Because if not, It really just seems like a tease.
Nope.
Only cars that have the option to do this are the Ford Bronco and the International Harvester Scout.
One of the few games I recall that let you take the top down on vehicles was the PC version of NFS: High Stakes. You couldn’t do it during game play, it was something you had to select before hand in a menu. GTA:V/Online has functioning convertible roofs, but that is a whole different type of game.
Test Drive Unlimited 1 and 2 let you do it, during gameplay too iirc.
I think it was only TDU2, actually. I’d still love to see this as a feature in a Horizon game.
Ah could’ve been. It’s been years since I played either of those, so my memory could be a bit cloudy when it comes to them. Either way, it would be great to see this feature in the Forza series.
TDU 2, and Midnight Club 3: LA let you operate the convertible top while driving in free roam mode. It was not well known in midnight club but it is a standard feature available for all convertibles in game.
I wouldn’t mind if rockstar took another crack at the midnight club series I really enjoyed them.
As far as forza goes though I would like to see it affect aerodynamics and drag as well as the aesthetic aspects.
