I get that… it’s just dumb if you happened to want to have a duplicate, you’d have to level it up as well.
Totally agree! The CP system has got to go! It is IMPOSSIBLE to progress when they make you drive one single car for hours and hours just to be able to make subtle changes on it, like switching to better gear box ect. Then you find out you have to repeat that only for every other car in the game.
I understand they want to make some sort of progressing system using points, but why not just stick to driver level? Making car upgrades dependable on car level alone would be enough, why bother going into all that CP and XP crap? It’s pointless and very frustrating. Thank you.
Car Points are definitely the worst part of this Car Leveling system, though the fact that so many crucial Upgrades are locked behind Car Levels at all is annoying as well. I think all Level locks still need to be reduced, but simply allowing players to purchase parts with Credits would improve on the System quite substantially. And if part unlock Level requirements were decreased to let’s say Level 15 for all parts, I think the remaining levels should be pure Bonus levels. Every level gives the player a couple thousand Credits and every 5 levels gives an XP bonus for using that specific car, eg. 5% increasing up to level cap.
If the Manufacturer Affinity Leveling system was to be modified as well, which I think it ought to be, every 10 levels would unlock additional XP bonuses for driving cars of the specific manufacturer, with the price discount for Level 50 remaining unchanged.
Imagine if we could buy upgrades with credits, like every other Forza. And Car XP did something more enjoyable for us?
Imagine if Car XP was a tool to unlock car catagories/classes/groups.
Vintage Rally CXP unlocks 90’s Rally. That unlocks Modern WRC, which ultimately unlocks Group B monsters.
At the same time car xp in a Ford Escort, also contributes to manufacturer affiliation, for discounts and special races (for reward cars, instead of FOMO)
Imagine if the only way to unlock a Ford RS200b was to have max xp’d a Ford rally car from the unlocked categories above?
Instead of drive these races before next Wednesday or miss out?
Imagine reaching max car xp level, and receiving “free” car xp from then on, which can be applied to other cars - say (just throwing something out here) IF you have unlocked a manufacturer affiliation.
I have more, but this is enough for Turn 10 to grasp.
Or keep car points as a replacement for FOMO content.
And monetisable - pay with cc or use car points to unlock ultra-rare reward cars.
I agree. Car leveling and car xp has nothing to do in a game. I would rather have that upgrades and cars follow player leveling. Like almost every car game in history has. And that you spend credits, not need these points for upgrades, it makes the game messy. They should have kept it like all motorsport games before, and maybe added that upgrades and cars follow player level. That is how they do it in GT games
I want to see this go too. Isn’t there like a poll or something?
It would make me so happy to see this go and just enjoy the career and free play without having to put in countless laps to reach a car’s maximum PI. I’ve money to spend but I don’t want to sit and do the grind for hours just to unlock and apply a few upgrades.
Hello,
I just wanted to provide a suggestion on the controversial new car progression system in Motorsport that I think will make more players happy than the current system.
Car Progression
The current system of using CXP to acquire upgrades should be removed, and replaced with unlocking each upgrade category with with Car Points (CP) that are attained from leveling up a car. I suggest keeping car levels and gaining CXP in races, but only for the purpose of attaining higher car levels. Each car level will net the player 1 CP that can then be used to unlock ANY upgrade category the player chooses. Once a category is unlocked, the player will then use credits to buy the individual upgrades they want for their car. Removing the level gates that currently bar all of the upgrades and allowing the players to choose which categories to unlock will give them much more freedom in their customization, while also allowing them to feel out what upgrades are more critical to their builds early on. This way, the current progression system is not completely abandoned and those players that want to use credits to upgrade are free to do so. Players will still have to “learn” the vehicles since there will still need to be some progression to fully max a car, but it will ease the grind a bit to be able to purchase stage 3 upgrades with credits once the category is unlocked.
Driver Level
Currently, driver level has no purpose or benefit other than unlocking new race suits. I suggest tying in Credit Percentage, Brand Affinity, and CXP boosts to driver level. For instance, each increase in driver level will net the player a percentage boost in CXP, Brand Affinity and Credits gains. This will give direct purpose to the driver levels.
Brand Affinity
Most players have not even begun gaining affinity with Brands because of the ridiculously high level needed for each car to even begin receiving affinity. I suggest removing the level gate and have affinity gain always turned on. Like previous Forza titles, Brand Affinity should drive the costs of cars and upgrades down (discounts) for that brand of vehicle. Doing this will bring this title in line with previous titles that had this feature that players really liked.
This may not be a perfect solution to make ALL players happy, but I think this will be a potential overall good start to overhauling the progression system.
I truly hope this suggestion is taken into consideration and not fall on deaf ears. I would love to give more detailed feedback on this suggestion and look forward to hearing back from your team (Turn10).
Thank you.
Don’t forget to vote for your own suggestion
Thank you for telling me that! I’m new here and didnt know that was a thing.
How do I vote?..
Found it! Thanks again!
Now you’re playing the game and get 1 car level for 1 car level. No levels at car lvl 50.
The easy fix: you are playing the game and get 1 car level and one “global car level”.
These global levels acquired for the same exp, even at Car Lvl 50 and can be used to upgrade ANY car to LVL 30 (for example, as most parts are unlocked at this level)
Thus, you are leveling twice as fast, gain levels for any car even at car lvl 50, can play pretty modified cars from the start and not to struggle, but still need to play the car to get it to lvl 50 and all of it with minimum programming.
Boom. You have some time for thinking about re-designing cxp system.
Frist of all I liked the idea behind this, but is was poorly made. I drove a lot cars longer than I would have without the system. I liked the way to see the car, slowly changing but I understand why most people didn’t liked it.
But I’m not a Fan that it will be canceled, just give us the option if we want to use the system or not.
You are being given that option, you can purchase extra Car Points with CR, or you can drive cars just like previously, just that now you’ll be able to put Street Weight Reduction on as soon as you get the car
Im only coming back to forza because i heard about the update i hope the devs stay on this oath in improving the game
Yeah I got the memo earlier, thanks!
