I voted no because i am a completionist if it comes to some things about Forza games. I like to collect all cars upgrade and tune them to my liking, put on a livery drive it a while and move on to the next car. But i can’t do that with that horrible upgrade system that locks everything behind a 3 hours time gate per car.
Also i know that lots of ppl will want to play custom races with friends, that means all friends have to grind a car 3 hours first before they can even play that race together. How should that motivate ppl to play the game more often, if they FORCE ppl to drive cars in a circle for a few hours just so they can finally have fun with it?
The whole system is trash IMO, the person that came up with it should be fired, that person should get a job in a studio that creates grindy MMO games.
Not everybody needs this
to be motivated to play a game.
It shouldn’t be a core part of the game. Why T10 wanted and needed to try something else? Why they had to fundamentally change the game? There was no need to do that.
I can only speak for myself, but all i wanted was a better FM7, they don’t have to reinvent the wheel.
All they would have to do is remove the whole system, let ppl buy car parts with credits and that’s it. I don’t get why ppl think it’s a core system that can’t be removed, it’s simple it can be removed if they they want to.
The whole point of a simcade is to drive clean and fast, the players don’t need a system that forces them to do so. In FM7 we had the “perfect” and “great” corner/turn, “good” drift and all that, popping up on screen if we drove well. That was more than enough of an indicator if we are driving well or not.
The penalty system ensures that bad/evil players, and trolls get punished and that should be enough.
All they have to do now to make it even worse is, add car parts for a limited time for specific cars that are better than the standard car parts. For example slicks V2 that are better than the regular ones. Then you have yourself unique hero cars. It’s like the Battlefield 2042 of racing games.
This system is a nightmare it has to be removed, nobody asked for a racing simcade RPG. It’s the worst idea they could have come up with.
It’s not perfect but I like it.
By forcing myself to play with basic bodies with their qualities and their faults, I rediscovered certain cars that I had gotten into the habit of tuning and adjusting straight away for over 15 years (using the settings from the opus previous ones that I adjusted with). I thus rediscovered eternal classics like the MX-5 or Mustang… and finally I take almost more pleasure with the playful MX-5 with little tuning than the usual MX-5 finely tuned !!!
The main flaw I think remains the order in which improvements are unlocked. For example, on an old, powerful and heavy muscle car, it is obvious that we will prioritize weight reduction… but it is among the last improvements that are unlocked :-/
I’m going to disagree heavily with this. I can’t begin to count the number of times I’ve been rammed into the wall in prior games by someone who AWD swapped a car immediately and boosted only power for multiplayer. They clearly had no idea how that car reacts under various forces. At the very least here, it will force players to understand how the car feels at it’s core, and intuitively select upgrades as they level up to compensate for weak points in the car.
Is it too slow? Undoubtedly. Is it odd it doesn’t apply across all cars of the same model? Yeah. But if there is anything I have doubt in, it’s the average players competency at applying upgrades, and for me, this addresses that.
That might apply if the parts didn’t unlock at the same level for every car. Some cars need more power earlier, some cars need more handling early, and all race cars need weight reduction earlier
I like this format, thanks for making this poll great for the community for guidance. Is it hard to make these polls? Wish this could be pinned to the top!
