Car levelling system is a joke

Are we done with this experiment yet or what? Absolutely dreadful.

That is all.

Not just a joke, but a bad joke. The comedian should be fired along with the gag writers.

Iā€™ve stopped playing the game because of it

With the new Message to the Motorsport Community, looks like they are quadrupling down on their idiocy.
ā€œWhile many of our players are enjoying the system as isā€
What load of crap. I bet if they put a poll in game, it would be a landslide decision to remove it from game.

I am absolutely convinced they are going to try go monetization route. If they do, I will never purchase another Forza Motorsport item. I would say Iā€™ll never play, but I havenā€™t played in weeks.

Well I must be the 1% that likes it ! It reminded me of need for speed underground 2. I like to have money for cars instead of wasting also money on partsā€¦

I like it a lot and people are going to whine about the cost of upgrades and about how they still have to play the game to earn credits anyway. They just need to reduce CXP per level by 25-50% and give you 250 CP per level from the beginning and itā€™ll still accomplish its goal of making you drive a car just in less time.

Yeah, even if a few people actually ā€œenjoyā€ this grind, Iā€™m guessing this grind is not the primary factor that keeps most of them playing the game.
ā€¦Whereas this grind is a primary factor that pushes many more players away.

So it seems like a simple choice between:
ā€¢ the small possibility of alienating a tiny fraction of players who wonā€™t touch the game if this grind is removed,
ā€¢ or the greater likelihood of continuing to alienate a bigger portion of players who wonā€™t touch the game as long as this grind remains.

Car games are over exhausted their progression poolā€¦ that is the main problemā€¦ what is good progression system? There must be some hook, work and proper reward. CPG is kind of new idea but really what it isā€¦ is it just normal limit like car level per race, in first race car can be max level 300, after couple races level 350 etc.
Only difference is that CPG limits you to certain parts and partpointsā€¦ IMO what is the point as you are limited to max car level per race, so why limit parts and partpoints?
That leads to new proplem, are all parts free or bought? Money is not usually limiting factor after few races in these games so parts might as well be freeā€¦ but does that fuel progression motivation? There must be motivation as there is lot of us who juts dont solely enjoy driving but need game that progress and reward also.
Some want to only online, how game should handle that?
Some want to just SP drive stock car level cars, how to handle that?
Some just want to create 1000 hp cars and only do few timetrials etcā€¦ how to handle that as game?
It is not simpleā€¦ car games has tried everything and eventually all is tried and game just goes boring, hundreds cars to own, bank full of money and no spark to start new raceā€¦

This feature literally took the playable fun out of this game, drive a car for 4 hours so I can build and tune it, now want to try another car oh another 4 hours? This must be a new dev team or something because for me Forza went from being fun to completely irrelevant. At this point just take rivals out too, will not recommend to anyone infact Iā€™ve actively told people not to bother with it. I feel like release 3 or 4 would be the best option at this point. Literally the least fun you can have on xbox

Itā€™s a decent idea but the progression is far too slow.

To make any competive tune for class races [or spotlight] u need to get min level 25 on car if u are luckly and dont need more power, or engine swap. So to play online races in car u just bought u need to spend 1,5h ā€œracingā€ online, or grind offline [or just afk grind like everyone does lol], then once u level up, u buy necesary parts, just to be smoked by meta abusers that use only one meta car whole week [cuz they dont want to level up different cars], so u go back to level up your car again, install engine swap, or wide body, and other more op parts.
Or u do like me and afk grind your car to level 50 using xbox cloud on your phone, while playing different game on pc/xbox [as long as u have spare gamepad], and then do normal racing.

the only thing that this system fixed, is that u cant now ā€œstealā€ someones tune by installing pre bought parts from tune, since all parts are ā€œfreeā€ u dont own anything = u cant easly replicate parts from tune like u could in horizon.

So in general i like idea of cp, but all parts should be unlocked from start, and we should get ~5000cp from lvl 1 so that we dont have to grind for hours to even use this car.

At this point im pretty sure the a.i. has put more hours into this game then i have. I enjoy testing and tunning and making a time attack cars sometimes i make cars for each track in rotation. I very rarely race above A class. So this mentality that ppl are buying a car and max upgrading it is crazy. Nothing worst then being interested in a car for a class leveling it up only to find out its no where near competitive for the class. So its back to starting all over with another car.

Since theres little to no point in having currency in this game. They could atleast make it so that you can just buy all the levels and upgrade points with the ingame currency. That way those who enjoy the grind can grind away and the rest of us can get back to the lab testing and tuning.

Ive never had this much money early in a forza game or cars. The irony about the progression arguement is that now i have enough money to go straight into the expensive cars. So it defeats the purpose.

I donā€™t mind the idea of the car progression system, but agree that it needs some changes.

  • Reorganize the order of parts types that are unlocked at each level
  • Have different grades of parts unlock at different levels(ie. instead of all levels of weight reduction unlocking later, have lesser grades of it unlock earlier)
  • Have unlocks be on a ā€˜per modelā€™ basis, rather than a ā€˜per carā€™ basis, so the parts donā€™t have to be unlocked again on a duplicate car, howeverā€¦
  • Maybe still need to earn car points on duplicates, but with an altered earn rate, maybe based on manufacturer affinity
  • High performance and race models that have fewer and higher-end parts to unlock should have appropriately unique unlock level requirements for their parts

Iā€™m still playing this game, but the upgrade car system, is really a jokeā€¦ I really canā€™t understand. FH5 had a better system upgradeā€¦ Forza Motorsport is 100% a Racing Game, why not make all the car parts available since day one ??

What about the comedian they stole the joke from? What should happen to them?

Something Turn 10 does, that probably makes them tone deaf is looking at the statistics of how people play the game. They judge whether to add a feature or not, purely based on the numbers they get from how the players engauge with said features. It doesnā€™t seem to be that bad of an idea until they use this to take a requested feature away from the players. I imagine they could quietly have a highly requested feature hidden in a game, and then use the low user numbers to justify its removal. But, Turn 10 wouldnā€™t do thatā€¦ Right?

How could these players enjoy it!? I know a majority of us hate it so much, we just want it gone! Chris Esaki let us down big time here.

Iā€™m not surprised you didnā€™t. Nobody wanted this, and yet, Turn 10 thought it was a good idea. Wasted.
