Did you watch any racing this weekend? If you did, you may me interested in what I had to say about it. If you didn’t RVM is all about giving you the ammunition to sound like you watched them all.
Sorry, I ran out of room to cover WRC Argentina, but that happened too, so go check it out if you want.
There are enough embedded questions in this RVM to keep you busy, so no plain old unicorn requests or “Nice RVM” please give it a read and tell me what you think. I am interested in learning what you folks think. After all, this is all for you and I want to know what you think.
You can also try and guess the thumb car this week too. News - Forza and hint, hint, the shot in the news list on the home page is even more revealing. Good luck with this one.
That was a very good race at Kansas Speedway, it was funny how the backstretch lights went out (just like the Bud Shootout practice at Daytona in '11); though I was surprised how fast Harvick was gaining in the final laps, but glad that Gordon won, he deserved it. What a crazy start of the Indy GP, sort of reminds of a few online races in FM5
F1 is often a great early Sunday morning catch live; else I just will watch highlights. NASCAR is more mainstream time and I watch bits and pieces, but rarely have time for the full race on busy weekends. I watch clips and let the RMV help me out as well!
The great red mirror belongs to a Celica? Why a Celica–why not?
Glad to see Vettel pushing hard. I was impressed with RB dominance last F1 season, but it is good to see the field with some variety. I have to admit after watching the documentary Senna (again) that I am fond of the drivers that push the limits and own their respective series.
Great RVM BRO.I watch them live some tape delay but you bring me things if never get to see.Like the Smart car drag so cool thank you for posting things ive never seen before so thank you again bro. unicorn rx-7 spirt r sleepyp1980
I DVR the European F1 races, and watch most of the rest live.
Mercedes may be way out in front however its neck and neck between Hamilton and Rosberg, and they’re let them race to the finish. In previous years there was never any doubt which Red Bull was best.
This stretch of Catalunya, Monaco and Canada is pretty good, though with the return to Austria and the new Russain GP only time will tell.
It’s definitely more engaging watching a race on a track you’ve lapped many times and are intimately familiar with.
I’ll take a guess at the car in the thumbnail, a Mazda Miata?
I try to watch racing live, but lately I have really taken to playing Forza. For me, it feels better if I get to race instead of me watching others. And that Smart car with the big block, wide tires, and wheelie bar…That is one car that I would wonder if I should take it at the streetlight, or just back away. Hope all the mothers in this community had a great weekend!
Definately enjoyed this RVM a little more then usual. Its a little more emmersive when I can personally relate to the stories you write about because, in this case, I was actually there at the track in Indy! I suppose that’s kind of how it is when you watch races on tracks that you have raced on in video games. You can relate to certain things that people say, plus you are reminded of ‘…the time when…’ stories from your races.
Actually got to spend most of Mothers Day weekend with my mom and the rest of my family on a family vacation to Indianapolis! It was the first time my mom got to come to a race track since 2006, plus we hit some museums and a Segway tour through Indianapolis (you know, stuff she was a little more interested in… :p) but she was a trooper through the whole thing!
Weather Friday was all over the place with a dry track for both groups in the first Qualifying session, then rain for the second Qualifying session, and finally a downpour delaying the start of the final “Fast Six” session. Sat on the front stretch and watched Ryan Hunter-Reay crash in the final qualifying session, while sitting on top of the time charts, and then came back on Saturday and sat in Turn 1 for the Grand Prix and watched Jack Hawksworth take the lead early! I’m so bummed that pit strategy dropped him all the way back to 7th. The new Turn 1 and Turn 7 were so tight, and the passing was awesome! Not so impressed with the new chicane on the back-stretch, as it cut down what could be seen from the front stretch, but the drivers seemed to like it. Any chance the new layout will be scanned into Forza 5 soon? Loved the infield section of Oval Turn 1, as well. Stopped by the Firestone setup down in the garage and did a lap in Will Power’s Penske Dallara DW-12 courtesy of Forza Motorsport 5 w/ Thrustmaster wheel. Fwiw, the wheel is REALLY good (I was skeptical coming from my CSR), but the pedals were less then impressive.
It was also cool to see the Brabham (#83) name back on track, in person, and on the top step of the podium on Friday’s Indy Lights Race #1
It was a tense car ride home as we listened to MRN’s broadcast of NASCAR @ Kansas, Saturday night, as my favorite driver FINALLY got over the hump and held on to win the race. No late race antics to cost him this race! Thought it was funny what Kevin said after the race. I wonder if he would have been so gracious if he were still at RCR, and not with the Hendrick-tied Stewart-Haas!
Not a fan of Lewis Hamilton, but I’m going to complain just because he’s beating my favorite driver. Sebastian Vettel and RBR have been on top for so long that I’m not worried. I’m sure that they have more championships coming their way. Can’t win them all! Obviously, the tracks coming up are my favorite because, in the past, they’re actually broadcast in the states and not just on cable and satellite (not that it does me any good, because I work Sundays, but for others in my family, they’re the only F1 races they get to see every year). I hope that they do that again this year. I miss SPEED’s mid-week rebroadcast of races for reason’s mentioned above!
Love your reviews, and can’t wait for next week’s!

Absolute domination of the mercedes in f1 this year. For vettel the race are better but the championship seems to be lost for him. In indycar, the race is more interesting than f1. The drag racing with the smart is funny.
Hello, I’m not seeing that f1 has no igualdadde competitiveness are not in conditions to Ducatis sound engines with turbo and I do not like the sound, you are carrying the f1, and I am from fernando alonso ferrari to and I q great escuderia q is not grabbing their job well …

Great RVM. I watched both the NASCAR and F1 race. The Silver Arrows almost lapped the field. I hate to see this aspect of F1 week in and week out, although it did get rather close at the end. Still its a 2 horse race every week, but it seems that some teams are finding success with the new platform.
By the way, can we please have the Indy GP track variation they ran on Sunday in F5?
F1 I am Lewis Hamilton fan so I’m rooting for Mercedes they definitely have the best set up their making great power from their hybrid setup. I like the Bahrain race under the lights best!
BTCC I like the Toyota Avensis and the Honda Civic Tourer
I enjoy watching the races live but my work schedule on weekends doesn’t allow me to do that so its the DVR and ESPN3, if ABC is airing an Indycar race.
I’m being honest, this was quite an exciting RVM. Including the BTCC and the Formula 1 on Indy.
I don’t watch much Formula 1, but I may just change my mind. It looks like there’s alot at play when racing those lightweight beasts. There were several crashes that got my attention like the very first one where Sebastian stalled on the line causing a huge mess. From the looks of it, stalling is a very bad thing in Formula 1 with how many people you have flying by, lol. But best of luck. Also in the BTCC, this is more of a motorsport I’ve gotten into, but I’ve followed more of the JGTC than the British Touring. It can be just as challenging and looks to be just as fun. I saw that there were a few wrecks here aswell, like the crash between Rob Austin and Foster. Also with Sebastion when he flipped his Toyota Aventus.
I wouldve really enjoyed reading about the WRC Argentina from you. In case anyone is wondering though, these are the standings with the Drivers and their times on El Condor (Power Stage)
I love motorsport I’ll watch F1 and BTCC on sunday and anything else online throughout the week, its almost normal for 1 team to dominate F1, my fave car for BTCC atm is probably the AMD Milltek Golf, and I think the mirror in the thread is from a Toyota Celica, Thanks for posting.
Great read and nice videos, and yes, the last one just isn’t right.
I like watching as much live as possible. Mostly Formula 1, and (here in germany) my favourite race series’, DTM and ADAC GT Masters.
Sometimes I also watch WTCC, and WRC (not live)
Definately would watch more if it was broadcasted here (like V8 Supercars)
Hi, I try and watch racing live but not always possible so PVR is great fast forward to the best bits and miss out the adverts.F1 is back, great news I like the European part all the races start at lunch time so I don’t have to get up early!

Hi john not been on the forum’s for a while been busy at work and playing the amazing Forza 5, I try to watch any race I can live, but when busy with family and friends or working I record or catch the highlights. As for the Mercedes dominance this season in f1, as a f1 fan (and Ferrari fan we will have our time again lol) I hope that Mercedes keep letting Hamilton and Rosberg race! because that battle could go right to the wire and is the only thing that’s going to keep the championship interesting they are so far ahead of everyone else and that I hope will be the difference between this and last season, Vettel walked it on is own last season and this we could have two drivers pushing each other from the same team not even separate strategies can keep them apart! And remember Mercedes will not dominate forever, another team will have there time in the future as a f1 fan you have just got to applaud the current team that is getting it so right on and off the track at this time
i watch what i can live but if i miss them i will find them somewhere or from what you post up on here is also always good.
Big stuff like LeMans it has been told i pull a all nighter and now euro sport as a app to watch it on i can go anywhere and watch it
I don’t watch much F1 anymore its a bit on the dull side, but i do like Catalunya its the track i test & tune my cars on in Forza 5.
I like watching races on Foza tracks to see what lines the pros take in real life and try it myself see if it helps.
BTCC thats where its at, fun fast and contact. I love the Civic Tourer and the VW passat CC both look great,
i seen that Smart thing the other day its stupid funny, good choice to clear your mind VW pic’s
Indy Car racing on the infield course at Indianapolis - For The First-Time-Ever? Really? Interesting.
MG is still a thing!? And they’re racing? …in BTCC - This sounds like something I might enjoy looking into.
I don’t often watch racing live, but I do like to take in the highlights in articles such as yous - there is, it seems, just so much and I don’t really have a favorite type or personality I follow particularly close. Years ago I used to try and follow GP motorcycle racing. That was not easy then, from the US; usually had to wait for the tape to come out (no internet, then) - I do think that got me into the habit of watching racing recorded, after the live event.

Seeking a Ferrari Challenge Stradale FM4 Unicorn (and a fresh set of FM4 Monthly Rivals, please! pretty please!)
It depends on what series it is, but I watch Nascar live every weekend and try to watch every Indy race live, but sometimes I forget that it’s on and end up missing it. I usually just catch the highlights for the F1 race because they are on so early, but it never even crossed my mind to record it, so I’ll have to start doing that. And then I love reading the RVM each week to hear about other race series that I might not be aware of or just simply don’t watch. It’s interesting to hear about all the different racing going on.
I’ll start by talking about my favorite series of all, Nascar. It was a great race and a great weekend! I knew it was just a matter of time before we’d see Gordon get to victory lane and what a great finish at the end. I almost though Harvick was going to ruin it for the 24, but Gordon managed to hold on for number 89! WTG Jeff! Next up, All-star weekend!
As for the F1 race this weekend, I actually turned on the TV just in time to see that Hamilton won again which made me happy to see after watching Gordon win the night before. I honestly don’t mind the dominance of the Mercedes teams because they are both doing so well that it’s always a good race between the two of them. I want to see Hamilton get that second championship though.
And last, but not least, I watched the inaugural running of the GP of Indy. It was great to watch because I’ve ran that track so many times like others here in the game and it was really fun to watch on TV.
