Racing realism is lacking

You know what wouldn’t hurt your hands? Moving a slider to the number of laps that you and your control device of choice can handle

Haha… probably doesn’t have to do with the number of laps in Free Play mode… but rather how tightly I grip it sometimes, jamming my thump to get the steering angle just right… and subconsciously squeezing the trigger really hard on the straights… !

I think I need to switch to cockpit view and make it a habit to relax my hands right when the driver does!

One could argue that career is pointless and nobody does it and everything that has been removed has ruined the game. And that with 16 player lobbies (now 24 online?) that 3 lap hopper races should be abolished and replaced with a minimum of 10 laps.

FYI. I dont do career at all, hate it, its boring. Never have in any forza apart from FM1 (had no internet back then)

Im all about that multiplayer, teamwork and as such, the game is currently neutered to hell and back.

I should try to make all my posts one line long as it seems to be as far as you read. Paraphrasing, selective quoting and distorting context does nothing but harm a forum.

You are right. I dont read whole posts but I do provide feedback on them

I can’t see it catching on

At the moment Forza does not have race length sliders or any way to adjust race length, and it sorely needs it.

Some are happy with the 3 lappers and did not like the 2x7 lap heats in fm4. Others want 10 or 20 laps.

If people had seen the number of complaints about this issue on the fm5 forums maybe they would understand.

We ARE getting longer races in FM6. Didn’t Dan mention that in an interview?

sigh

Some don’t want longer races.

Yes he said that but it can mean anything. It can mean they have added endurances races but kept the rest the same.

I dont care, if i like to race i play PCars, if i like to have fun with cars i play Forza.

For all it’s faults, Project CARS’ sandbox approach to race lengths is a quick and easy way to please all Forza racers. If the default is 2 laps per career race, adjusting a slider to increase the number of laps is surely a no-brainer for the developers?! The ability to customise your experience is probably the only way I’ll get involved with FM6. After being a diehard fan of the series from the original Xbox, FM5 felt like the accountants produced a poor Forza clone - and if you only have to finish 3rd and have no championship points to care about, it’s not motorsport, it’s the Special Olympics of motoring.

Oh you’d be suprised with some developers!
