I created this thread because I’m not a fan of 2-3 lap racing. It is not realistic to pass 16 cars in so few laps. That is why having the option to increase the number of laps will accomplish nothing but create boring racing. Imagine passing all these cars in 5 laps and then lapping them over and over again. The racing realism of Project Cars is what Turn 10 should aim for, where passing a few cars in 20 laps race feels satisfying. What is your take?
Passing them in 3 laps is not realistic but lapping them after 5 laps is?
I want the ability to replicate the fm5 lap count and difficulty. Yep that’s right.
I know others want longer races so happy if we get both sliders from PCars.
5 laps was just an arbitrary number I selected. What I meant to say is that passing all those cars in very few laps is unrealistic. I want Turn 10 to increase race distance significantly but make it challenging to pass even a few cars. Thus a qualifying system would be important. The reason I say this is because I feel there are too many kamikaze drivers online who want to go worst to first in “one lap”.
Doesn’t Forza already have a difficulty adjustment in the settings or difficulty tab? The hardest difficulty is labeled as unbeatable - though we all know that’s not true but… Are you simply asking for a difficulty level above unbeatable?
This would make me happy. A race distance and AI difficulty slider. The AI difficulty could be from 0 to 100 percent where 90% is the current unbeatable difficulty.
I would like to see something where the player can select the duration of the event. That way everyone can play the way they want. If you want to get in, and get out; then you will have an option to have a 2-3 lap race. If you want to settle in for at least 20 minutes, then you should be able to pick a mid range event. If you have time to spare, and want to race 2 stints, then select the endurance option. Let the game scale the difficulty accordingly, and adjust the reward so players in each of the modes would end up with the same amount of credits had they spent an equal amount of time in all three of the events.
I hope this will happen, I myself love 2-3 hour endurance races… Great way to grind money and driver level! I read somewhere that there are going to be some challenges which will be interesting. If i remember correctly the website said that there is a challenge where you have Three laps on a track, You have to start last on the grid and you have no rewinds! Can’t wait for those… It’ll just add something towards the game that will keep it fresher for longer.
Many people want realistic race distance, qualifying, pit stops, dynamic weather etc but maybe it is unrealistic to ask Turn 10 to incorporate all of these features into Forza Motorsport and keep the casual race fan happy. The casual race fan wants quick races one after the other where they can drive some of their favourite cars with real world physics and occasionally participate in some smash up derby. I think that Forza Motorsport has successfully accomplished this year after year.
Forza Horizon was created to satisfy those people who wanted to race cars in an open world where real world driving physics and 60 fps were not top priorities. FH is competing with the “Need For Speed” genre. Following this line of thinking, should Turn 10 make a new racing series, “Forza Race Simulator”, to satisfy the other end of the spectrum, the real race fanatic like myself, and provide a legitimate competitor to race simulators such as Project Cars. Having said this, I think it would be a must for this race Simulator to natively run on a PC where all the graphics, features and dynamics could be maxed out. I am having an orgasm just thinking of the possibilities. What do you think?
I can’t see how it can be possable to make a racing game that fits the most casual player with practically zero understanding of cars, or kids. That will also appeal to the more hardcore
You might be able to achieve a scalable simulation that can appeal both with sacrifices at each end, As for racing though its impossable, You race under a code becouse you want to
simulate real life ( otherwise the realistic physics are pointless ) to people with little interest or kids they dont care, its boring.
I would like to see qualifying so i dont have to start at the back of the grid, Also so i can get my head in the game before the race
Longer SP races, With qualifying it wouldnt have to be to long, 5 laps ish
Proper online penalty system, Lobby vote out system.
Everyone racing on the same tire type, Different compounds. So only wheel and tire size / width would still be apart of the pi, Not tire type / compound … Load More Realistic
Forza aero is a joke, So a complete aero re think, Propably fixed aero options only for all road cars
Project cars and forza being two different games is irrelevant, As both want realistic racing / physics at the core! Otherwise why would t10
be constantly talking about there tire model / physics, To appeal to wide target audience, I dont think so!
Features again are irrelevant, As without getting the core physics and racing right, all the features are worthless! Unless
of course t10 want forza to be nfs, All features but no substance. I doubt that!
There is a BIG BIG BIG difference between realistic physics and realistic racing. Turn 10 has demonstrated from version to version to version that their vision is realistic physics, but nothing close to realistic racing.
FM5 was clearly redesigned by gamers for gamers. Turn 10 brought in designers who had no racing game experience, let alone a history with Forza. They did (probably) a good job of building a game for gamers — but not for “virtual race drivers.”
P-CARS is never going to add the features where Forza excels, and Forza will never go where P-CARS excels. The target markets are just too different.
tbh accurate ffb is one of the biggest strengths of pcars, If forza could achieve that, Thats a massive step in right direction…
Another is with the racing, Tire type vote in the lobby, Everyone races on the same tire type i think thats a must an should help with lobby cars.
You just select compound based on strategy. Simlar to gran turismo, but better.
