Thatās good to hear. A little while ago some sim racers on a competing forum site expressed their displeasure with the tires and handling. Itās nice to see an opinion stating otherwise. Hopefully itās a great sim then. There can never be too many great choices, just not enough time.
Iām still saving for the PC rig so I wont know how P CARS and AC are until well after both sims are completed. Even if I happen to get an Xbox One before the PC is paid for and put together, I am not going to get the game on the Xbox.
This is how I am looking at pCARS (this might be a little long winded):
pCARS is aiming to be more of a sim, closer to the likes of iRacing and AC. That is great because weāve yet to see a attempt at a hardcore sim on the consoles. If you like the racing genre on consoles you should be rooting for these guys all the way. Im not saying give into the hype but at least keep any negative attitude away without playing it first. This game as it stands right now is the best case scenario for any Forza or GT player. Itāll only make the genre better!
That said the reason why I am looking forward to this title is because it does more Motorsport than Forza Motorsport. Hear me out. If Forza is a true Motorsport game then where are the:
-flags
-pit strategies
-penalties -RACE CARS
-qualifying sessions
-practice sessions
-race weekends
-weather/night
-tire compounds/realistic tire wear and fuel consumption
-crew chief/engineer
-sector times and ahead/behind.
-A workable lobby system and multiplayer options.
All these things I have mentioned are planned for pCARS and most of them are already in while pretty much all of them are completely absent from FM. As far as im concerned at this stage in the game Forza Motorsport is turning more and more into Forza Track Days.
The cars in pCARS are more purpose built race cars with a couple stock production cars. Think the opposite of Forza (which has more production cars and less race cars).
Toyota and Chevy are not YET in game. It is a possibility that theyāll be in by launch or DLC.
Because they own the rights as a whole to the Verizon Indy Car series. So they own the rights to every car, sponsors on the cars, engine make and drivers. Kinda like Forza owns the Le Mans circuit rights and has the Porsche sign, even though they donāt have the rights to Porches.
Also technically the cars are Dallara DW12ās, not Honda and Chevyās. Those are the engines. So I donāt know how Forza got away or around that one.
Iām not impressed with project cars yet, to me it looks like itās nothing but fluff.
Everything so far just seems par for the course, except the car list which currently looks boring and stale. So what if the game has a day and night cycle and weather? To me that doesnāt make up for a very, very, very boring car list.
How many cars are actually (and I mean proper) competitive in FM5?
You are aware that each car and track combination has its own leaderboards right (PC). pCars isnt aiming for forza or GT. pCars is all about spec racing ultimately. Same car or class (GT3,GT4 etc), same parts, different tune, driver skill.
If these features dont get you excited for PCars then the game is not for youā¦

I really want to want Project Cars, but as a CAR racing game I think car list is important, especially to me. My racing spark is only ignited by certain cars, racing cars I donāt like just gets monotonous. And if my spark gets ignited, the more in-depth the better.
I had a drag racing simulator back in the late 90ās called āBurnout Championship Drag Racingā (Aka HotRod Championship Drag Racing). It was indepth in itās building and tuning, it basically had a built-in desktop dyno in which you literally built your engine, and if you had a poor engine build you could experience engine failure. The game was very in-depth with itās tuning/building of a car, and at least in the aspect of engine building; itās the only game Iāve ever known to go into that depth. I loved that game to death, wish I could find a copy today!
But the game had a limited market, despite having what was the most in-depth tuning to date, because it was strictly drag racing and was primarily limited to muscle cars and hot rods, it had like one or two imports and no exotics⦠that I remember.
But I would love to have a game that let me get into that mindset again, but for a racing game to inspire that I need cars that I want to play with.
To put it shortā¦
I love racing a 1969 Nova, I want to tweak everything I can with this car.
I donāt love racing a GT spec Aston Martin and I want nothing to do with it.
I think you are missing the point of pCARS. The tuning is WAY more in depth than For a will ever be. It is a Racing SIM first and not a car collecting game like Forza.
