Who actually got paid money to create this event? That’s a serious question. Someone is employed by the company and this was the event they created?!? It’s the last race in the Power Tour in career mode, which is always a single race and you are gifted the car to use. And you are oh so lucky to get the Dodge Challenger with drag tires that you can’t change and then forced to race on Road America with those tires. I could have been faster driving a hot dog. The car is completely undrivable. You have to do a couple laps in practice doing your best not to crash to CXP, then exit out and realizing, “oh wait I can’t change tire compound until I’m level 10 or whatever”. Do yourself a favor and finish this event on easy mode and never look back.
If this doesn’t fuel the fire to those that hate the drawn out upgrade system, I don’t know what does. I actually enjoy the new mechanic of slowly upgrading a car and unlocking things. But being forced to drive a car that’s a wet noodle with drag tires is, uh, well… Stupid!
Edit: when the race is about to start you’ll notice the tires on the car actually look like sport tires based on the tread. But when you go to fuel and tires it shows locked drag tires. And when you try to stop, you’ll know exactly what you’re riding around on.
That particular event was a bit pants. I’m a Dodge shill and thats just about the worst driving experience I could imagine. One of the most difficult American road tracks, in one of Americas current least suited car for going around any track.
Yeah, not sure what they were thinking. Probably the same guy that programs the cars that are a lap down to try and race you, or a car just coming out of the pits to ram you while you’re on a hot lap. It’s like the programmers have never watched any real racing before.
Seriously? It’s a very valid criticism. You don’t do anything other than drag racing on drag tires. It was an extremely stupid decision to force us to race on drag tires. If you don’t like valid criticisms about games maybe don’t go on the forums of said games?
Yeah like svive poster said: I’m totally hooked on this game, even though it’s half baked and did this particular event really badly. I’m just glad it wasn’t my complete lack of talent behind the wheel.
That’s just your opinion. Like I said if you don’t like the game then just quit because life’s too short to keep whining about something you don’t like.
If you look at some of my other posts I’m one of the biggest defenders of this game in the forum. I still think the game was released three months too early, but as you say it’s just an opinion.
Don’t drag tires usually have a higher brake and acceleration rating than the race tires? I seem to recall preferring them in an earlier game for just that reason.
It’s not saying much about the game if you claim to be one of the biggest defenders and all you seem to say is that the game is half baked and events are really bad. As I mentioned previously, if you hate this game so much then move on and find a game you enjoy. Life’s too short my friend.
The person I was replying to was specifically citing braking rather than turning. When I preferred them before, it was because I got a lot of mileage out of the braking/acceleration and wasn’t bothered much in the turns… plus, I think they were a better PI bargain. But that may have been as far back as FM5.
Of course, in this game they are overpriced points-wise (especially if your car has race tires stock). And I haven’t found upgrading the actual brakes to be as useful as I used to - I only do it when I have all the other upgrades I want and still have surplus points. I haven’t gotten to that Showcase yet, however. The buy-in for the preceding C8 race is too much for my current moneypile.
Besides wasting your time and others, here’s a thought. Participate in a way that benefits the game, but telling other people what to do is not your place.
Hey quick question, is life too short?. I’m wondering, the shortness of life, is it just too short? Maybe I should check your previous handful of posts about the shortness of life. Well, look at that apparently it is definitely too short. Just for some clarification, the longest thing in existence for you, is your life.
Finally got to this today. The car actually had understeer that I noticed - although that could’ve been my fault for preemptively adding ballast because I didn’t like the weight distribution. It made a couple of spots on that track rough, for sure. I think calling it undriveable is a bit dramatic. It was easier for me to handle than the Prototype featured event.
