Past the preorder time and still can't DL game. (PC)

Preordered the ultimate edition. Its downloaded and I can play it fine on my xbox. I can’t download it on my pc. All 4 DLC items and the game itself won’t download. Only downloads about 4 to 7mb and fails with an error. I’m on latest windows update and I’ve done the windows store reset multiple times. Thought TURN10 said this would be fixed once the preorder was over and it was live. So what gives now?

You mention that you’re getting a download error. Can you please provide us with the error message/code you’re getting when trying to download the game?

Heres the code for the game itself: Code: 0x803FB107
Here is the Hoonigan Car Pack: Code: 0x80073D12
Fate of the Furious Car Pack: Code: 0x80073D12
Forza Motorsport VIP Code: 0x80073D12

Everything else on the store downloads fine, even had the demo of F7 installed and working fine. I have Horizon 3 and Apex both installed with no issues. I’m lucky I have an xbox in the meantime to play this on but I really want to play this on the PC since I have a beefy machine and wheel to use but I can’t. My internet speed is gigabit fiber and I have no connection issues.

I get exactly the same result when i tried to download my Ultimate Edition. I also tried everything that is mentioned here in the thread and i even setup a second account on my pc tp try the store there and i get the same frustrating results. The account thing mentioned the guys from microsoft support which i contacted earlier today.

Can you confirm the time for the last time you started the download for the game?

Ive been trying to predownload since 3pm thursday afternoon up until this very reply to this forum post. Which is 1247 AM EST

Can you email forzafb@microsoft.com so I can further look into this?

I’m also having issues downloading. I bought the Ultimate version and none of the download complete, but I only get an error from the main client.

Code: 0x80070005

Edit: Last download attempt at 11:46pm CST. The first download attempt seemed to complete, I saw it at 90+GB, but it failed to install. Every subsequent attempt to download has ended the same; normal download and then crash and burn at 58.58MB, spitting out the error code listed above.

Just sent an email. Thanks

Windows store problems, you can try these things.

Method 1 : right click start - RUN and type “WSRESET”

Method 2 : Try the WindowsApps troubleshooter

Method 3 : open up powershell and type the following to reinstall the store.

I’ve tried Methods 1 and 2 numerous times with no success. Method 2 only reported an issue with UAC being set to low but even on its recommended setting the errors persist so they are evidently not the cause.

I’m reluctant to try Method 3 though as past experience has taught me that messing around attempting to reinstall the built-in Windows apps can not only break those but everything else as well, necessitating a Windows reinstall from an Acronis backup or an upgrade to a later build to fix them. It’s not something I would recommend doing on Windows 10 personally.

I’ll try the powershell option. Already tried the wsreset and troubleshooter.

Wish I could help you spyd since we are in same boat. They ultimately told me in email they’d have to pass the info along and investigate it. All I can do is play the Xbox version for now and wait for the pc issue to be fixed. Sucks but what can ya do.

now we have a problem, ive payed for early access and im going to loose all my early access days due to slow internet i expect the proper compensation that i deserve

edit, i paid 140 au for this to happen to me, and nothing to be done, now it doesnt even get up to 3 gb without crashing the download, this is a joke right?
why cant i just download something and go to sleep without any anxiety about a stupid download? it blows my mind that a company like turn10 will work with a company that doesnt even support their gamesWHICH IT CANT END OF STORY im sure multiple people agree now on my 7TH download wont hold my breathe, 12 redownloads later here i come woo…

fix. it. now.

i cant even go to the microsoft website to complain to them, says the host closed the connection? what…MICROSOFT actually fixing something they break and ruin? BLASPHEMY

I have been able to download the 67 GB game to my Xbox One, connected via Wi-Fi to my router, without a single issue and I played it in the early hours of this morning from midnight. It’s a great game from initial impressions, running flawlessly in gameplay at 60 FPS and only suffering from weird stuttering in anything that’s FMV.

Anyway, I bought the game primarily for my PC as that is my main gaming platform and the demo easily ran at 4K and over 60 FPS (thanks to the weird Framerate = 60 FPS (V-Sync) bug on my 165 Hz G-SYNC display) maxed out with 8xMSAA, essentially better than Xbox One X quality. However, I have been unable to download the game at all on PC without all four of the Ultimate Edition files erroring out. Initially the game did start downloading to my I drive but like everyone else the download stalled at around 2 GB and on clicking Retry it started again from the beginning before halting again with an error at the 58.8 MB mark. Thereafter the game has refused to download at all despite the four files showing various levels of installing, checking and downloading.

The errors for the four files are as follows:

FM7 Ultimate Edition - Code: 0x803FB107
FM7 Hoonigan Car Pack - Code: 0x80073D12
FM7 Fate of the Furious (Day One) Car Pack - Code: 0x80073D12
FM7 VIP - Code: 0x80073D12

I’ve done the usual sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth checks and both report no errors. I’ve ran wsreset.exe from an elevated command prompt. I’ve cancelled the downloads and uninstalled all the pre-order files then clicked on the FM7 UE Install button from the Store numerous times. I’ve even signed out of the Store, ran Disk Clean-up and CCLeaner, and restarted my PC, Nothing will get the damn game to download. It’s beyond frustrating at this point.

I know there’s nothing wrong with my PC or the internet connection (my PC is connected by cable direct to my router) because Steam has been downloading dozens of game updates without issue and I bought and downloaded FIFA 18 on Origin the day before yesterday. Also, the Store itself has download and installed updates for about 8 apps as well as 25 GB update for Halo Wars 2 (installed to the same location as I’m trying to install FM7 to) and Minecraft among others. The I drive I’m trying to install to has 614 GB of free space, more than enough for the 95 GB FM7 download.

So why is this game stubbornly refusing to download still? It is now 7 hours past the release time which is when we were told we would be able to download the game (since it became clear that the pre-load was not working for many due to incompetence - what else can it be? - on Microsoft’s part). If it wasn’t for the fact that I can play it my Xbox One, even though that is not the platform I bought the game for, then I would be absolutely fuming right now because I bought the Ultimate Edition specifically to play this weekend on my PC. At this point I don’t think the PC specs are relevant but it’s an i7-4770K, 16 GB, GTX 1080 Ti, Windows 10 Pro v1730 64-bit system in case anyone is wondering.

I have sent files generated by the Windows Store using wscollect to support twice now and apart from the first time, pre-release, I’ve not heard anything else back.

PLEASE FIX THIS!!! YOU ARE DAMAGING THIS GAME’S REPUTATION BY RELEASING ON THE CLEARLY BUGGY AND INADEQUATE WINDOWS STORE!

Also, the only way I can even initiate this game download is by clicking on the Install button on the Windows Store > FM7 Ultimate Edition page which then queues the four files I mentioned in my first post before failing during the installation stage.

Under Store > My Library > Your Games > Works on this device I have the following four files (note: not five as listed on the UE Store page as the Season Car Pass is not listed for some reason):

FM7 VIP
FM7 Fate of the Furious Car Pack
FM7 Hoonigan Car Pack
FM7

However, if I click on the FM7 right now, after cancelling all the other broken downloads, then nothing happens. Yesterday, when I clicked on that I was prompted for an install location (it defaults to I as set in my Settings > Storage options that has 614 GB free) but on clicking OK nothing happened anyway. It’s like the Store is ignoring any attempts for me to download the base game and I don’t know why because I paid £79.99 for it!!!

I’m really sick and fed up of this and wish I’d never bought the game in the first place. I should have waited until after release to gauge feedback on the PC version.

I cant Download the Game fully too.
Everytime the same Error Code.
Code: 0x80070005
Sometimes i get it to 58GB, sometimes to 26 GB.
Did this 5 times with my 14MBit/s Download rate. Very frustrating.
Was using the “WRRESET” too.
I bought the Ultimate Edition just for the Early Access and i cant use this feature right now…good job.
Had no Problem downloading the Demo so whats going on here?
Startet the 6th Download before i was going to work today…hope your offical Post is true and it will work this time.
Normally i got the Question where i want to install the Game…this time it just startet to download after i pressed “install”.
But after these comments here i would not be surprised to see the same Error when im back at Home.
(Sorry for bad English)

Good to hear, I am not the only one with that problem.
Got exactly the same problems… bought on friday, Xbox install went fine, but tbh I want to play on my high end PC.
I am really pissed that i paid so much so I can play at the weekend.

Hope there is a solution asap, since I tried the first 3 solutions presented here and it didnt work.

“Hello, i bought forza motorsport 7 standard edition for pc and got game key this night. I have registrated it successfully in the microsoft store, but the download didn’t start! Then i set my windows insider update setting to the next previous version of windows and installed the preview build 16299! Now the download of forza motorsport 7 runs fine and with full download speed! hope this helps :)” By Chris147 2008
