i came from forza 3,4,and 5 and horizon is definitely way different
online road trip is so meaningless.
first off, people dont take their time and enjoy the road trip. people just want to reach the destination first going off road and crashing into trees and stuff and this ruins it for me cause i like to follow the path they set for you and practice my turns and corners while collecting bonus points to win the championship, but that is pointless if i dont reach the next destination on time because i wont get the points for getting there. even the single player guy said its a road trip and take your time.
people playing in crews also bug me not just cause i dont have a crew to play with, but is that if your not playing with a crew and there is a group in the lobby, then you will most likely lose unless they suck because they get bonus points for playing with a crew which is a huge disadvantage.
also it sucks not being able to choose the class you want to play like in forza motorsport. i really dislike playing s1 and s2 and its even worst when you let scrubs that don’t know how to take corners or use brake with cars that has 700+HP and they end up crashing or sand bagging you.
i try my best to avoid all these problems i have, but its really annoying and it gets tiring.
also kings,infected, and cross country is stupid game modes imo. i just want to race on pavement.
i wish they will add more online option or different lobby races like forza motorsport. it feels so strip down compare to their simulation game.
I don’t think you understand how to play the Online Road Trip game yet. If you keep going to the ORT, and they are ruining the game for you, then you need to make the effort NOT to keep going there. ORT is my favorite part of the game, but I also understand the pitfalls of it. ORT is not about enjoying the journey between races. Yeah, the guy in SINGLE player may say that, because really, you can choose to take your time between the destinations for that mode, and the worst that happens is you don’t get the extra XP for showing up but the main goal of that is to win your race series. It’s conversely not the same for ORT. You have to learn the balance between drifting and racing in the races themselves, and learn the shortcuts between destinations so you DO get all the XP between races. Because in ORT, XP is pretty much everything.
Get to destination, finish your races, make sure you balance your drifting/going fast. It’s unfortunate but you don’t have to win every race in ORT to win the Event.
I never cared about winning “the event” I only care about winning races. The race between the race does suck though. I often ignore it and use that time to take a bathroom break or go get something to drink and just get fast travelled and forgo the xp. No choice of what class you play sucks too as we always tend to get jammed into S1 and S2. I much prefer A through D class racing. The vote versus a real choice is the absolute worst part about this game. And yeah, King and Infected are useless and not fun. I usually just play the ORT until we get to a stupid playground game at which point I drop out and roll the dice into another ORT. I hate those games so much! I just want to race and I would love to be able to choose the class in which I race.
You get used to it as it seems to be the norm nowadays lol, although id prefer lobbies anyday. Anyhow the roadtrips are nice when you play with people who know how to race, not every road trip is bad. If people crash purposely then report/block them and join another one, its much easier
Last night my bud and I were able to get into some B and C stuff. Much more enjoyable, albeit there was a crew of super nice jerks ramming everyone for most of the time. When you’re not alone in a Roadie, those idiots are much easier to manage. I have noticed that if I am in a C or B class car heading into Online RT…I get a better shot at a lower class event. From there we just have to hope we can get a room that also hates the King and Infected wastes of time.
I never drop out of lower class road trips because of the way the vote works. If you are in a C or D the next one will be a B, C, or D so I will play the playground games. King and infected are actually a lot more fun in the lower classes but I would still rather be racing.
I think that may be because it prioritises the Class of car you’re already in…but i cant confirm that. I notice it when i end up choosing an S2 car but then when I quit I have to stay in that car when I quit the ORT, so then when I try to find a new session it puts me in my new class (S2). I wish we could quit when picking cars instead of forcing us -__-
