So far on every road trip I get bashed about and run off the road by other cars. Seems no matter the pace I set, they match it and just cause havoc. Is there anyway to avoid this? Or will it get better as I level up? The first couple have not been fun, but a fight to get to the destination.
Also, is there a way to choose a female dirvatar for yourself and not get called Dude all the time? Maybe in the future if not available now.
Other than those two little complaints I really enjoy the game.
We could perhaps gather up a bunch of players from the Forza forums and host our own road trip? I’d be totally down for that!
I have to agree with what you’re saying though; some individuals are just too downright anxious to get to the starting location first that they have no consideration for other players. There have been quite a number of occasions where I have been pushed aside by someone just because they’re unnecessarily competitive. There’s no rush to get the destination; take it slowly and enjoy the cruise.
Actually there is a rush to get to the destination. You ever notice the time counter in the top left corner? If you get to the destination before the timer runs out you get points towards your score for the overall road trip. Once the first person reaches the destination the counter drops to 30 seconds and if you don’t get there you don’t get the points. So if you don’t get there first, or within 30 seconds of the first person who does, you lose out on points towards your overall score.
That being said, people do still go out of their way to run you off the road. I don’t know how many times I run off the road when there was a clear lane to pass and ramming me was completely unnecessary. I’ve run into people before but was unintentional. I try my best to avoid contact as it slows me down and puts my off the road.
Some people are just just can’t handle others being better drivers and feel the need to run you off the road so you can’t beat them.
It’s kind of weird, like the AI of the drivatar is borked. Okay, so maybe the person is a more aggressive driver and makes a lot of contact, but the drivatar system is taking it to an extreme.
This morning I literally got trapped. One was in front cars on each side and one behind. Forcing me to travel at about 15 MPH. I finally broke loose of them and sped up, just to get caught and pinned again, by the same cars, so I slowed down and they did too. There was no way to escape them, I’m not a good enough driver to lead the entire way. Because of these antics, it made for a VERY frustrating 7 minutes or so to get to the destination.
The drivatars do seem to be a bit psychotic. It’s causing me to become a bit of a monster myself recently. Lately when I’m just driving and one drives into my lane causing a head-on collision, and if I’m not blasted into the weeds, I don’t let them past. I drive into their front ends preventing them from going anywhere. It doesn’t solve anything, but I’d like to think it helps.
I usually try to go as fast as i can and take shortcuts, they still bug you but i find that that is the most effective action. The slower you go the worst.
Lol. Try driving anything D class, surrounded by A class and up AI…They pass me, slow down, speed up, slow down, box me in, then start ramming on three sides. /Facepalm
At first I had some relief from taking my own route, but then the game started throwing AI cars right straight at me from the opposite direction. Gave up on that real quick. Now I’ve just developed really tweaked avoidance skills. Not pleasant. Not fun.
Maybe in the future if not available now.
