Online ramming is just killing this game

That’s what i like with multi class, because of other class, in general you are with max ~6 peoples on the same class as you. On open class you race with too much peoples, it just reinforce that “pass them all” mentality.

It’s also nice to see the respect between differents class, when a faster car wait for a clean overtake on lower class, and lower class let higher one pass.

They’re much more respect here, and it’s also cool to have longer race (especially bigger layout on low class)

This has been the case for years and years in the Forza games. The monkey brains that are more entertained crashing into people are usually in the higher end lobbies cuz they want to drive bullets. They don’t want to drive (er, crash) “slow” touring cars.

This is why iRacing’s license system works so well. You can’t even make it into the faster classes until months and months of consistent safe driving in the slower classes and slowly working your way forward. But in a game that’s not a dedicated sim, they can’t limit what people can drive early on or they would lose their already piddly player base.

I think it really comes down to: are you racing to have fun or are you really seriously racing to get better and see a time on a leaderboard. If you’re the latter, then you need to get into games like Assetto Corsa or iRacing. If you’re the former then you can play games like Forza.

You’re right, buddy. If FM introduced a system like that, I don’t think anyone would play FM anymore, but it would separate the wheat from the chaff. Maybe I’ll have to buy a PC and play IRacing after all.

This isn’t the only place the Devs look at, one of the devs here recently commented on a post of mine over on reddit so they do look outside of the official forums. im not to implying they take anything onboard from outside sources and the hubs here are definitely the best place to post suggestions etc, however i`m just noting that they do actually have a broader view than what we may think and do have an ear to the ground outside of the official forums.

The fact that as a single player racer there is nothing to do apart from rivals and the forced fomo cups has left me looking elsewhere for content. I may look into resetting fm7 career(if possible) to re-run that game. It has 100’s of events in all different classes which takes a looong time to complete. The sheer lack of content is what has killed this game for me, I love the driving feeling but it’s got to a point where I don’t want to race the same events over and over anymore. I just don’t play it anymore… I’m now waiting on AMS2/1.6 and ACE to release.

On top of what you said about existing content (or lack thereof), drift is coming next update BUT only for private multiplayer… guess I won’t be doing any drift races until it makes its way to open lobbies. Doesn’t make any sense.

Always the same thing, peoples wanted the nordschleife because they want to go on open class for drive on the nordschleife with random peoples who drive in same class, an we get the nordschleife only in private at the start, now it come to some series, but still not on the most played one, open class …

I’m looking this over while at work so I’ve just skimmed through, reading bits here and there.

I hate playing with others, which is why I don’t do multiplayer. People that just want to troll and clown around like to ruin it for everyone else, and I just can’t enjoy that.

As much as I’d like to ban the egregious trolls, I don’t want to cut Forza’s player base in half. Maybe a better solution would be segregation based on etiquette. Serious players get to play together and the goobers get thrown together, kind of like GTA bad sport lobbies.

Maybe up front players can decide if they’re going to take it seriously or goof around and self-segregate, but then if a clown decides to troll the serious players they can get reported, imvestigated, and forced to the bad sport lobbies.

Here an exemple, does i’m one of those “non-serious” players/troll ?

Because the game doesn’t have a dedicated trackday lobby, a place where players can meet other random players tracks, i just use the practice session for this.

Sometimes i do my practice as it should be, for practice, sometimes i just chill around so i’m driving a bit more slow as i should go, or i drift (i already turned a practice session on a somehow drift lobby) .
And they’re players who actually have fun and join me on this way, or stay behind me/waiting me for looking me doing my thing.

But i know when i do that, sometimes it can make someone who is trying to set his best lap, to fail it.

I don’t make it fail with the intent to, if i’m awarz of him before on a straight for example, i let him pass. But sometimes they probably have to wait or they do a mistake because of me.

But when the race start i’m racing, i try to avoid collision the best i can, and sometimes i have fun at taking non-optimal line or slide a bit when i’m around drivers who doesn’t search to reach the top at all cost.
And i already get message from peoples who told me they had fun while racing with me, it happened less but also peoples who are more like “what is wrong with you ?”

So since the game offer only place where to race, where you want peoples who don’t to race, or on a different way to go ?

Private lobby doesn’t have a search function, you can only find Xbox tickets peoples made for their lobby, < that who is a bad thing because it just put peoples away of private MP

And open MP doesn’t have a trackday lobby.

So yeah every type of players have to jump on “race” lobby, because that’s actually the only one thing the game offer.

Someone who troll on trackday lobby is still a Bad behaviour and even on trackday, peoples should be ban for that. But the impact of a troll in a trackday lobby would be very less Impactful, compare to a troll on a race lobby.

Just that would help for have cleaner racing lobby and maybe would make easier for peoples to find other players who are on the same lvl skill as them to

I will be honest, I know some guys just want to have fun, but if I see someone drifting in practice, I don’t hesitate to help him off track by slightly touching his rear end. I also like to drift sometimes, but not on “official” events, drifting on track irl (be it even open track day) means instantly black flag.

But yeah we do need official drift events, but I guess they don’t know what to do about scoring system.

So much for being sportsmanlike…
Drifting during practice is annoying, yes, but it’s not against the rules (in Forza). Purposefully ‘tapping’ someone off track is.

The thing is … if u drift u take up more space in corners, and also got more power on straight, so it’s harder to make move on someone that don’t let u pass, if u drift around and see someone trying to overtake u, just let him pass.

But usually all drifters on practice I see, don’t want me to pass them, so I just help them slightly…

I’m glad there’s no caddy limo in this game

It’s not up to you to ‘clear the track’ from someone that’s taking up too much space. Either let them know in a message that it’s annoying and they should stop doing it, or make a clip of it and report them for purposefully blocking during practice.
It might not instantly lead to a ban, but they can get a warning for it and maybe a ban for repeatedly doing it.
Pushing someone of track, no matter the reason and even in practice, is worthy of a ban.

You’re part of the problem.

You can take matters into your own hands by reporting them. Pushing someone of track is risking yourself getting a ban and part of the toxicity this topic is about.

In terms of not being able to overtake them, consider this:

  1. A car that’s drifting through a corner will generally have a worse exit out of the corner, that’s where you can get them. Brake earlier to the point you’re not getting near them until the corner exit, pick a slingshot style line to maximize your exit and blast past them going onto the straight instead of the corner where they take up all of the space. Yes, you lose some time (does that really hurt in practice?), but you don’t risk yourself getting banned for pushing someone of track on purpose.
  2. Use 'skip lap’to give yourself an offset on track compared to them. It can be that simple…

To me, you shouldn’t be drifting in a race lobby or racing in a drift lobby.
I wouldn’t tap a guy out but for sure I’d be frustrated as well.
Even when I prep for launches, I look behind to make sure I don’t impede on others passing by.

But actually, if i’m not wrong, you shouldn’t drift on a track day lobby, because they are rules behind a trackday.

But what’s “common” players is expecting from a trackday lobby isn’t to have a place where to be on a trackday while following the real rules of it.

What’s peoples call trackday in general is just a place where you can meet random peoples on a track, no matter if they’re hot lapping, cruising, racing, drifting. You are just on a track with the feeling of “life going around you” ,
(edit) i mean, just be on the track, like if it was an open world(road), but instead of being behind any mode (race/practice/drift) you just do what you want to, on a respectful way for everyone

Freeplay don’t provide that, and doesn’t have a search lobby function too. So the actual place where you can easily found peoples is practice session, because that’s all the game allow.

On this i can imagine on purpose why a race compound user should wait for someone who use a lower compound on corners, you drive especially on street tyres, but on a track maybe it would be more appropriate to go for the minimum with semi slick (not sure about this argument but i try :joy:)

They responded to mine as well.

I ran into a guy in P class drifting in the practice lobby with a Koenigsegg.

No one could actually practice because he was taking up the entire road (Mid Ohio).

I pushed him out of the way until I got DQd from practice lol.

Mine was nothing as significant, just a congratulations from the same dev for my screen shot of My S 4999 Ranking, Still nice of him to comment though.
