New Forza Motorsport Feature/Gameplay Wishlist

Rain Tires. That’s it for now.

Yes but, the layout from the first Forza Motorsport. They can go ahead and add the chicanes to it, just give us the track from FM1, please and thank you.

That will work too. :grinning:

I’m begging T10 to put in an option to couple steering and cockpit view angle together. So when you would turn in, your driver’s head would turn accordingly to look into the turn and you could adjust the sensitivity of it.

I want a better sorting system for tracks in multiplayer lobbies.

I hate how great tracks like Bathurst are hidden in multiplayer because ViR has like 9 track variations and theres only 3 possible choices, one of them completely random!

Often times tracks with few variations get burried under the ones with multiple variations.

I cannot count how many times I’ve had to choose between variations of a single track choice, where even the random choice was the same track!

They should be sorted by track, with one choice of track variation.
Ex: If theres three slots, any single track variation can exist in one of those three slots, with no tracks repeating.

Personally I’m desperately hoping we finally get some control over the steering speed on controller.

On controller you can move the stick from left to right instantly. Obviously if the steering did this, the car would spin out immediately.
To counter this, racing games add a buffer to slow down the in game wheel so it can’t hit full lock immediately, or at all at speed.

Personally, I think the motorsport games, especially 7, overdo this to the point where it makes the cars feel heavy and less responsive. This doesn’t help when avoiding opponents in multiplayer either.

I’d like the option to adjust this just like any other driving assist.
Keep the default but let players turn it all the way down and risk spinning out in return for more responsive steering that requires fine movement.

Even wheel focused sims like assetto corsa have this option, it would be nice to have on forza too.

Here are some features I’d like to see:

• The ability to strip interiors with whatever weight reduction option you choose.

• The ability to add perspex “cat flap” windows.

•The binning of the homologation feature. Just let us modify cars to the top of the respective class.

• The ability to rev in the upgrade shop.

• Exhaust notes changing when certain parts are applied.

• Allow us to modify interiors a little bit. Let us add seats, steering wheels, nothing too crazy.

• Show engine and aspiration swaps in Forzavista.

•The removal of SUV’s and other weird cars that you’d never see on track days. Focus more on race cars/performance oriented cars that have yet to feature or been long absent.

•Cut back on giving us too many examples of the same race car. The design community is talented enough to replicate any livery that isn’t provided. Give us three or so different liveries.

• Flag system that penalizes players that ignore/break the rules.

• Bring damage penalties at race’s end back.

• Allow us to draft without dirtying clean laps.

I notice BeekayKitty say you wanted SUVs and other non-track day cars removing from the Motorsport series.

Personally I disagree. I’ve said this before on the forums, but I think if it’s got wheels you can race it, and sometimes the weirder the cars the better the racing! There’s probably a racing series somewhere in the world for SUVs as well. There’s already the SuperUtes series in Australia for pickups like the Toyota Hilux, so is racing SUVs really that weird?

The only thing I would ask is that there is sufficient variety within that class to make it interesting. In fairness, there are plenty of SUVs to choose from!

More non-“racecars.” More classic cars. Break the E category into smaller categories. How about suburb races with a sedan towing a teardrop trailer. School shortbus vs icecream trucks? Variety is what I’m talking about!!!

Homologation that doesn’t require you to purchase parts, or at least asks if you want to keep them installed after the race. Or how about homologate down instead of up? Tuning/upgrading is great, but shouldn’t have to do it to be competitive. OEM for the win!!!

Please stay away from Gran Turismo type menu navigation. Keep FM7 style where everything is fast and easy in simple menus.

Fully customizable hoppers for private or user created public lobbies. No countdown timers (or customizable) for private lobbies.

The car selection screen should show your that car’s race history.
-How many races entered
-Number finishes 1st,2nd,3rd
-Total Time and laps in first place
-Top speed (current track)
-Best lap time (current track)
-Top speed recorded
etc.

SuperUtes would be fine by me, as it is a proper discipline of racing. What I mean by “non track day” cars is stuff that you would NEVER see on a race track. The Bentley 8-Litre is one example, the Isetta is another. These cars I don’t see the point of. I want weird cars too, but I’d like weird performance cars. Cars like the Venturi 400 GT, De Tomaso Mangusta & Bizzarrini 5300 GT. Cars that have some sort of performance. Vintage Cooper Formula cars are another example. Those would be cool.

A pure single player mode, not anything tied to any online crap so i can play without forced internet connectivity. All i care about with racing games is the solo playing experience. Thats it, thats all.

This as well. A HUGE NO to this crap

If youre adding cars to the game , use a true DLC model, not a “Keep jumping through these hoops to get it” nonsense

I would counter your point about the Bentley 8-litre by mentioning the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival events, where all sorts of vintage cars will take on the hill climb at FOS and race around the circuit at the Revival!

Looking at the entry list for the 2021 Revival, there may not have been an actual 8-litre, but there were a couple of the 4 1/2 litre cars there.

To be honest though, everyone is going to have a different opinion on what cars should or shouldn’t be in the game. I remember FM4 had things like the Smart Fortwo and the Citroen C1, which also have no business being on a race track, but the races with those were really fun.

Personally, I think more variety in types and era of car is a good thing.

My number one feature that I would like to see is the ability for AI to use the vehicles out of your garage (as well as being able to pick which bucket they go into, maybe pick difficulty for each induvidual, etc.)

Just imagine what you could do with that… Not happy with any races in career mode, or maybe you’ve finished it and don’t feel like going to multiplayer? Build yourself a fleet of cars built to a similar spec, maybe throw some liveries on, put the AIs in the driver seat of most of the cars, yourself in one, and go out racing! If the AI is competent and pit strategy turns out good, I feel this would make a good recipe for fun.

Some other stuff I’d like to see:

  • Break apart the visual customization categories a bit, like instead of having roof customization in the sideskirt or hood category, add a seperate “roof” category. It would probably clean things up a bit

  • Re-assess the downforce-producing capability of some parts. There are parts that look like they should produce (sometimes adjustable) downforce. but are relegated to “street” or “sport” aero. A good example of this is the aero on the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16. Then there are some parts that do produce adjustable downforce… But they happen to be spare tires or rally lights. There are also plenty of unmodified vehicles that could also probably use some adjustable aero from stock. I probably shouldn’t need to use Forza aero on the McLaren Senna…

  • Paintable roll cages, or the option to use a black or metallic cage. Also for open top cars, maybe something like having a simple roll hoop for sport cages and a full cage on race roll cages.

  • A paintable sun strip for most/every applicable car. Would make racing builds look really good in my opinion

  • Customizeable Forza Aero, aka choosing width, height of aerofoil, choosing end-plate style, aerofoil style, mounting bracket style. For splitters maybe something like splitter length, canard size, amount of canards, tow hook style, location, or an option to not have a tow hook.

  • Keep homologation, just not as a replacement for class racing. It has potential! Also allow for the creation of custom homologation categories, as well as having “open” categories that allow any car as long as it meets the restrictions

  • Open track days like in FM7, though maybe have a dedicated hopper for the Nordschliefe. Maybe have an option in Free Play to do it with AI as well

EDIT: Oh and the ability to adjust tire widths by 5 or 10mm increments instead of by pre-determined increments. There are many times where I’ve wanted 235s on my muscle car, but instead I would only have the option to use either 215s or 255s. :frowning: It would help with balancing for racing series or just fine-tuning the upgrades on builds

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure I’m not when I’m saying it’s not currently a feature.

It would be really friggin cool if when your wing falls off due to the car receiving damage, the car would actually behave differently with less downforce etc.

Here are some things I’d like to see, some points have been brought up above already

  • Option for qualifying to determine grid spot before a race
  • Option to make changes such as TCS/ABS settings on the fly instead of choosing it pre race and being stuck with it
  • Updated car models on the cars that are showing their age with old models (S15, R34 GTR etc)
  • An exhaust note tuning system would be cool similar to some other games that have them, changing the tone, more raspy or throaty, pops and burbles etc
  • Ability to save different engine maps and change on the fly during a race for cars that allows it
  • Better and more punishing tire models, such as noticeable flat spots after a big lock up, punctures from running over loose debris or scraping the sidewalls along barriers
  • A better Auction House experience, I should be able to set the bid and buy out prices however I like, instead of what the game considers a “fair price”. As well as letting us put buy out ads on the AH for cars that are out of stock at that moment.
  • Option for random mechanical failures
  • A rewarding progression system
  • Actual AI instead of Drivatars

Below are the more nitpicky features I’d love to see happen

  • Letting us choose interior colors on cars that offer them IRL
  • Better Forza Aero or different options other than the generic tow hook and splitter + auto part store spoiler
  • Possibly some interior customization? such as different levels of weight reduction changes the interior, from stock to slightly stripped to fully gutted etc
  • Any new body kit / visual customization options are always appreciated
  • Letting us edit liveries that was downloaded from the community, or give the creators the option to choose if they’d like to keep their work locked the way it is or allow edits (Downloaded liveries that’s been edited cannot be republished, original creator still gets all credit for downloads, likes and uses),

Edit - typo & added a couple more things

Maybe a Track creation tool, i have more explanations about it on a thread

I would like to be able to add wide body kit to ANY car in the game, simply because that is possible in the real world!
I would also like to be able to add weight reduction at 1 point increments.
AI back in custom/private lobbies.
Co-op campaign
I am not sure how to properly do this, but penalties for ramming and overly aggressive driving.
Penalties for course cutting ( literally slow the car to 5mph) when all four tires are off the track.
Be able to widen/space the width of the wheel base side to side like in Horizon.
Make every tire size available on all cars. (Not go from 195 to 255. (I want the option of every size in between. ) Or at least the widest size tire by performance index point.
More body kits.
Lighting kits
Bumper removal for all cars.
