Since Turn10 confirmed there won’t be Forza 8 in 2019. Would you like to buy a new season pass or pay for new content? Just happened in forza 6 with Ford GT for instance???
I would pay for driving some cars from FH4 in Forza 7 and maybe some expansion like Toyota, or more cars like SENNA, INTENSA EMOZIONE more GT
Tell me, what do you think??? Is it a good idea??? For me yes!!! But, not too expensive please
I would love to see new content !
I would not look at money if in front a few things are fixed: Reflections on the windscreens, non ramming ai drivers in freeplay or some sort of raceregulations for freeplay
I would NOT pay for carpacks like the last ones (small variations of cars already ingame, hotrods, any kind of forza specials, cars where you cant see the road in front of you…)
I WOULD pay for car packs with modern cars / Racecars like 17 / 18 season DTM or IMSA Packs …
I would pay MORE if new cool tracks r included
I would pay a prime game price for an addon with 5 new cool locations, new feature “raceweekend” with practice, qualifying and race and the feature to create your own freeplay championship with own car spec and tracklist.
Seems i was a bit fast with my replay.
I had a few really cool races this weekend (singleplayer against AI), no reflections on the windscreen, hard fights for positions over laps without a single contact with other cars, … sadly not in Forza7, so :
I would not spend a single cent for any content added. I had many hours of fun here (2880 Races driven, 99% singleplayer, more than 95k race-kilometers) I bought the Ultimate Edition in December for €99 and compared with time i had fun with this game, it was worth every single cent! With raising skill and having to deal with the “unbeatable” drivatars the game shows it’s weaknesses.
So keep the fun up as long as possible, for me its time to move on.
I have a theory on this. I do think we will get some track(s) based on a few things. First is the little hint chris esaki said in Februarys forza monthly when they talked about the new free roam camera in the main menu forzavista. He said something along the lines of " hopefully theres no unannounced tracks…" when talking about the white board in the forza vista garage. Seems like a bit of a cliffhanger and could mean they are approaching that phase of a possible expansion. The next thing is the timing of everything, they have all this time to fix the game, add stuff and then start on the core part of FM8. If they follow their usual release timing in terms of months then we are still roughly 18-20 months from that game being released which is plenty of time to still add some track(s). The last thing is the phase in which they are working on this game. They are nearly done working on and finally implementing race regs, they still have to touch up on the AI and finish experimental drag. Once those core things are finished along with a few more bugs and glitches to fix then I think it would be a good time to add a track or expansion perhaps. So looking at all this I think we may possibly get an expansion or some tracks sometime around summer. Not mention an honorable mention, both of FM7s competitors GTsport and PC2 have both had track and expansions content added to their games, you think T10 would break their tradition since FM4 and not do the same.?
I’m hoping we get some more content soon. However I fear Turn 10 have lost the plot. They’ve never been great at letting their customers know what’s going on, but it seems that they have nothing left for the Motorsport side of their business. Just the tail end of their monthly videos and sending John Iowanna (sp?) make videos about cars that will never be part of Forza.
I dont think the question is if people would pay for more content as much as would it be worth the development cost and time to do so on turn 10s part. Any “new” track added to forza 7 would be one less “new” track added to 8 if there is one. Something that I could see happening is them adding updated fantasy tracks from past games, but I think if we were going to see new tracks added it wouldve happened already.
Player counts are obviously down and i cant think of any track other than fujimi that would really bring a good amount of people back. But who knows, e3 is around the corner and with the new penalty system dropping around that time i could see them announcing forza 7 being available on game pass, they could release a new track or expansion to capitalize on the influx of new or returning players.
I would pay for more cars but never for tracks. Payed tracks are a complete waste of time dividing the player base and as such would be very rare in multiplayer and organised events.
I already got robbed buying this game, no way I’m giving them more money. This game worth not more than 20 bucks.
Content is useless unless it improves racing experience, which is nonexistent in this game.
I would absolutely buy new content, but I don’t think it’s coming. I think FM is a dead series, it was killed by Horizon and pure apathy. We’ve been getting the same game since FM5, and they hardly add anything to it. Just the time it’s taking to add a penalty system is indicative enough of the lack of work that is prioritized for FM.
It should take a month or 2 to design a system, there are plenty of working examples to pull from. It’s been a requested feature since the internet was invented. It’s unfathomable that they haven’t been able to give us something by now, makes me feel that the only person working on FM is the janitor in his off-time.
I would love it but there are issues associated with it.
Paid tracks expansions place a issue that if they are completely offline, people get mad, but at the same time, exclusive online lobbies for paid content die quickly and the same people who would get upset of not having a way to play the new tracks online are upset that they cant find anyone to play against.
My idea is to place this track for free in online rotations and paid if the person wants to play on single player or to play privately because the people who paid will find more people to play against and if the person who played for free wants to get better and practice, play with friends or simply play in single player, they can buy this track.
I dont know about FM6 specifically, but for exemple, even if Horizon 3 sold well, even included in bundles, finding people to play against in the expansions is a little bit trickier, lobbies have less people inside than the base game. It is not near impossible like Storm Island for FH2 though (even being a old title, finding people on base game is very easy).
There is no new content coming for FM7. What have we gotten since the end of the car pass - an Audi touring car and two Ferraris that are barely different from cars already in the game?
I would probably buy a carpack for 5 bucks assuming it has cars I want - but its a good chance i’d buy them anyways to support the cause or just because OCD or something.
I would assume a track-pack would be more expensive unless they are re-made tracks from old games - I would assume any “remade” tracks that are not replicas of real locations would be free for everyone. However if there are actual tracks of real locations - I would assume these additional real world tracks would come at a cost to the consumer based on the development time and licensing and just the simple fact they are bringing new items to the game. I would think it would make sense in the case of any purchased tracks that are real world, for there to be a dedicated multiplayer lobby for those tracks, and that lobby would include the new tracks and originals in the rotation cycle for that special “additional” track lobby. Ideally there would even be a new championship included for single player, as well I feel these tracks could be included in leagues for at least one of the two lobby selections avail. If you don’t have that track you won’t be able to enter that particular league event. If they continue to add new tracks - and you don’t have one moving forward you would simply have to buy it in order to enter the special multiplayer lobby and stay up to date on track purchases. This provides some incentive to buy the new tracks if you enjoy racing them in a public multiplayer lobby. I would think it would be a cool idea for private lobbies to be able to run the tracks even if the others in the party do not have the track in question. Maybe add some logic in there to say - “you have raced this track 20 times and have exceeded the limit, if you wish to continue to race this track you will need to purchase the track from the microsoft store etc.” To add to this dreamy thought of them adding new tracks - they could/should also make the imaginary location tracks…have jumps and maybe even create dirt versions of them so we would have a place to race rally cars and trophy trucks etc. To which those could also have new lobbies with just the “offroad” tracks in the rotation cycle of those lobbies. They should NEVER limit the cars you can bring onto the offroad tracks - that is the most annoying thing ever when they say you can’t bring your lamborgini SVT onto the dirt track etc.
I seriously think these changes would / could warrant purchasing a track pack etc. and possibly keep me buying more track packs in the future - however…i doubt any of this would happen but my doubt is not really valid as I actually have no idea what they are planning and/or are capable of. In any case for me to spend money at all…there would/should have to be some communication from the developers outlining future plans with FM8 and some identification of how what we are buying in any future DLC’s tie into the future of FM7/8 etc.
Example: “we will continue to update and support motorsport 7 and offer DLC for x-years with a planned xxx amount of carpacks/trackpacks for you to enjoy plus bonus features along the way - this announcement comes to you due to our continued support and relentless development of the current FM7 before getting into releasing any new titles such as FM8” “when and if we begin development of FM8, the items purchased in FM7 will carry over to 8 for a small xxx fee - or if you buy the digital edition or some special edition FM8 then your DLC’s will carry over to FM8.” “in addition, all FM7 owners will be able to crossplay with FM8 owners in the same multiplayer lobbies in order to keep the FM7 fresh and your investment fun for years to come” “we expect FM8 to be a better game with better graphics and periphiral support with other enhanced features that aren’t avail or possible in FM7, however we would also like the previous supporters of FM7 to continue to enjoy the game WITH others who have bought FM8 until the FM7 owners decide to also purchase FM8.” “keep on racing for years to come - we love you guys and we love cars and racing”
little bit of dreaming there (i don’t believe they have teased too much in regards to anything at all about new material coming but I am not in the know either) but i think my point is clear - before i make too many big purchases for DLC’s, I would like to understand the future of FM7 and its tie ins if any to FM8 and I’d like that information to come from the developers.
I’m not sure how gamepass works - but i’d assume the above items and concerns would still hold true for that decision making process for me.
