Thank you for your reply. I’m really interested in how other communities are coming along with this situation and it’s very alarming that other groups have those issues, too. Also other groups struggle to get decent player numbers together even if they aren’t racing street cars that much.
At this point a have to ping famous streamer @Mesasphere who also told me that his group also struggels at the point where specific cars and car builds play a role and that even he as organizer gets more and more frustrated and unwilling to offer races if the situation doesn’t change.
If Forza doesn’t want to lose it’s core player base they have to do something. Those who defended the system already achieved their artifical goal and went over to the next game. Left are people like us with a mess of an ingame economics.
The worst thing is that people like me already saw this coming at the moment Chris Esaki first mentioned this system in a Forza Monthly. How blind must T10 be to NOT see this coming is what I’m asking myself…
We will drive cars with Level 1 parts forever. Even if you request Level 2 in a race (to upgrade tires), there are always drivers showing up with Level 1.
This system is killing leagues, I don’t see what the problem was with the older system that worked well from FM1-7 in order to have swapped over to this new levelling system. Why change something that wasn’t broken to begin with? wasn’t a lack of players cause fm7 still had a good amount of players online even after 7 years of the game being release…
Because you have 4 or 5 races in a championship, that is 15 levels maximum, you only can put a standard ugly Forza wing or something like that.
It’s the same frustration.
Upgrade must to be quicker!!!
Or have the max level at 15!!!
FYI, today we published a blog from our senior Motorsport team addressing top issues, including Car Progression:
A MESSAGE TO THE MOTORSPORT COMMUNITY – JANUARY 2024
9 January 2024- Turn 10 Studios
To the Motorsport Community,
We are taking a moment at the start of this year to thank you for your support and feedback since launch, reflect on some of the things we have learned, and share what you can expect from us in the coming months.
In addition to our streams, our update blogs, and the Suggestions and Troubleshooting Hubs, we will commit to publishing quarterly updates like this one to let you know where we stand on items the community is passionate about.
While we have been heads down adding cars, tracks, patches, and other improvements, we want to acknowledge the top three areas of feedback we haven’t addressed directly first – so here’s what we’ve heard from you.
…
CAR PROGRESSION
We know that the progression system in Forza Motorsport is a divisive topic among our players. We’ve been gathering feedback from a variety of sources, including the Suggestions Hub, socials, forums, long-time players, and surveys to players who may not be as active on our traditional community gathering places.
It is clear from looking at feedback that while many of our players are enjoying the system as is, for many others it isn’t delivering the upgrade experience that they expect from Forza Motorsport. To address this, we are exploring changes to the system. Our goal with these changes is to retain what is working for those that enjoy it, while resolving the issues many of our most dedicated players have with the system.
Addressing this feedback is a top priority for the team going into 2024, however it will take some time to properly evaluate options, make the necessary code changes, and thoroughly test those code changes.
Completely agree with the conveyed message that the car parts shouldn’t be locked in free play or multiplayer but at the end of the day this is a racing game not a bloody Call of Duty game I’m not spending 4 hours just to upgrade one car so I can play with tuning presets, If the problem they face to remove it completely ends up being that in career is the only place you’d have it and it look funky then an alternative would be to lower the required level to fully upgrade a vehicle from level 50 to a modest level 15 so in that standing you still need to race to upgrade but it won’t take soo long, but what would be even better is you race to unlock parts but you can use the credits that you’d normally use to buy cars to also buy parts for your car, been playing Forza titles for for 11 years now and this system for the cars has to be hands down the DUMBEST ever in any racing game!
Unlocking Parts is nothing new, and a fitting feature for racing games. Since they redone the Level tree, it isn’t that big problem anymore. Right direction, but they left the carpoints. If they completely wipe away carpoints i could arrange with it, but still not like it. I play Forza since the first part, and with some features i’m like that grandpa who means it was always better in the old days.
I’m totally curious for their solution. I hope it doesn’t get worst.
I as OP want to send a big thanks to you and Turn 10 that suggestion hub apparently works. This shows me that all the work and promoting wasn’t for nothing. Also a big thanks to those who voted here as well to those wo made similar suggestions here. I’m looking forward to the update.
With the changes in CarXP and unlocked parts in Update 6, we’re closing this topic. The topic reached 342 votes, the top ranked request in the FM Economy / Progress category.
If you have additional suggestions related to the revised system please upvote existing topics in Economy / Progress or create your own. For new topics be sure to clearly identify the single idea in the subject line.
