Motorsport is already seeing a price reduction to get units sold due to the games poor post-launch numbers. Around 15 to 20 dollars across the board seems to be the average
So essentially we paid more to beta test and now the game is in a slightly better state. Those of whom that decided to wait a whole three months get a reduced price and didn’t have to put up with a significant amount of the problems we have had over the past few months…
I find this to be ridiculous. I dont think it’s unreasonable for us to ask to be refunded the difference between our price at time of purchase and the discounted price now. Thoughts?
This is the 2nd time Steam has had FM on sale for 20% off.
(I think the last time was in December during the holiday sale.)
(…oops - Lens just pointed out below that this thread was resurrected from December in late January.)
Common industry practices have repeatedly shown that pre-ordering or buying immediately upon retail launch is paying for the worst version of a game at its highest price.
Games are always better after inevitable post-launch patches/updates, and there are always discounts later.
This is not reactionary or reflective of the state of the game, it’s standard operating procedure for most AAA games.
Games depreciate over time, usually averaging about 5% per month until they reach a floor. It’s to make older games more attractive purchases than newer ones on the market.
No,the world does not work that way.Just play the game man,it’s fun.Developers today are just not as good or passionate as they once were, well most of them.We have to put up with a lot of BS nowadays just to play decent games. My advice is to let it slide and not waste another second of time on it,life is too short.
I seem to be unable to find where you mentioned that you had used a graph for a completely irrelevant game to the topic at hand that @McFlufferten had opened discussions on… anyways the graph that you posted Sechs is scarily similar to the price reductions to the day on which FM8 2023 was reduced even if it was for a different game , that said it certainly looks like that “graph” only runs from around 20 December to 8 Jan so the whole August to January thing just adds even more confusion
Will be interesting to see what price drop happens in April this year after the numbers continue to tumble
I don’t see an uptake in sales even if it were 75% off on Steam as anyone with 25% or more intelligence quotient will read the reviews and say Yeah Nah
How would anyone know you’re making that point? You show one graph, and then refer directly to the game everybody is talking about. How would anyone know it’s a graph for a different game? I mean, trully, it’s undistinguishible:
