More Options for Car Points

With the major overhaul regarding car progress in Update 6, for which I’m super excited about, there are some certain things which could also help us with the car levelling system.

The main purpose of the car levelling was to feel more connected with the car right? So let’s expand the progression method with more varieties.

Right now, we only get +10 CXP for Overtake and other points for driving and segment points. And a 200 points for reaching new level.

We’d like to have more CXP growth system. I am going to give few examples

  • Drafting - Drafting an opponent per second will award +5 CXP System.
  • Drifting - Distance Wise CXP System
  • Fastest Lap - Fastest Lap of the Race will award +200 CXP
  • Podium - 300 CXP for 3rd, 400 CXP for 2nd and for 1st place +500CXP

I think these features would be awesome for MP mode, but in single player it would be really easy to be exploited. You could put the AI to level 1 difficulty and drive 1 lap races , or you could go on a oval track and just bump draft.
I think the values you chose are pretty good for normal races, but with the right strategy it’s quite easy to get a lot of points really fast:
If you want to equip a car with race tires it costs 1700CXP, you would need to draft for about 6 minutes to reach that. Or you could drive about 3 one lap races which probably takes about 10 minutes. If you combine both methods it only takes a 4 minute race. A 6 minute race could give you 2000 points, which is a bunch of upgrades worth.
Of course they could also put in limits to how many draft CXP per kilometer you could generate or something like that. For example you can generate 150 CXP in 30 seconds (5 per sec), but if you limit it to 150 CXP per 5 km, then if you drive around 150km/h you can generate 150CXP on a distance of around 1,25km and only after 5km you could generate another 150CXP. This would prevent bump drafting from being exploited.

I think the idea is great, but imo it’s too easily exploitable in single player. I think the current progression is fast enough, I just wish the races in the builders cup were longer so that after a 20 minute race I can upgrade a bunch into my car, which is not possible with 5 to 10 minute races, that’s why I usually completely drive the practice session and that’s quite boring.

Voted. :+1:
I’d been thinking this same thing.

Maybe also a nice bonus for every clean lap completed (if it’s not already a thing) to encourage/incentivize clean driving.

Maybe also a big bonus for every race completed without penalties (scaled to the selected FRR strictness) - again, to encourage/incentivize clean driving.

They’re just Car Points - they accumulate automatically anyway, so the only effect that more CP bonuses would have is simply shortening the grind-time needed to upgrade a car.

All anyone can do with CP is exchange them for parts/upgrades, and it only takes a few thousand CP per car to acquire all of a car’s available parts/upgrades, so even having a hundred billion CP wouldn’t change much.

What you said is true but they can always add some sort of threshold, like maximum attainable points per race to avoid such things. Like restricting draft points to 500 Max per race could avoid this type of exploits. One thing I realized is that if anyone can, the devs can, they already patched the afk levelling bug so I’m pretty sure they could implement such features to avoid exploits.

The current progression system is too slow. In a 4 Event playlist, the ringer tour Audi series. I completed all the bonus (3 laps) and driven the remainder of the practice time. By the time you reach 3 lap objective, you have a 10 minute window, so I drove all the required objective laps and extra 10 minutes on all 4 races, completed the races from 12th and still yet I could not surpass level 25 after doing all these. That means, 10x4=40 minute practice on 4 tracks + (3x4) = 12 laps , and the race distance laps was still not enough and I was able to reach level 25.

And a Level 25 car does not have enough points for a engine swap + race tyres + race weight reduction modification.

So either way the system needs to be more rewarding

Going into the 4th and Final Race, my car was level 25, the mximum PI limit for the 4th Event was S 800, but I dont have enough points for 800 PI. After the race was complete, my car reached level 28

Yep, the current system only works for people who want to race more, but not for people who like the current championship length. They basically fixed the issue for people who like the current race length, people who want to upgrade their car faster can just use Credits, and people who like the current speed should be able to choose longer races, like we were able to in FM7 with “normal”, “medium” and “long” race length. This way everyone would get what they want.

If you no what you have to do its meaningless to "connect with the car" You need three to ten rounds to discover whats needed the rest is grind. Never understood this logic:
I’m forced to drive around pointlessly for two to four hours for each car in Free Play or have no chance against leveled cars in multiplayer. But in the online races every idiot can let off steam after completing three races and being awarded an S Rank.
Many users who are in the MP should never have left these initial races.

I don’t think we’ll get any longer races and that has to do with the tires. Then they would have to calculate the tire wear percentage for each long race. That’s why, according to my theory, we don’t have it in the private lobbies or free play. The effort was probably too great for them.

Because of situations like this I think Car Point payouts should be adjusted

I like that idea plus you can save a few credits
