We barely got a glimpse of what the upgrade and car leveling system will be and I personally think its current form needs to be scrapped immediately. Forcing players to drive 2+ hours for basically the same upgrades we could install from the get-go in Motorsport 2 is a mistunderstanding.
For starters, if FM wants to maintain a car leveling system, it needs to be rewarding, currently it seems like it’s only a barrier from making a decent car for any class. Leveling up the car should grant additional XP and credit bonuses for driving, that’d be basically incorporating FH4/5’s car perks into car levels, which I think would work much better. And instead of locking entire sections of the upgrade system behind a level, why not, at most, cap an upgrade tier? This way one could install any street part from the start instead of being forced to drive a pretty much stock car.
The upgrades themself should also change to some extent at least. I think we need more adjustable parts, street and sport suspension should feature some level of adjustability as well. A 4th tier of some upgrades would also be great to see, like even more powerful brakes or turbo. This way getting to those higher levels would feel somewhat more rewarding too, because it’s not like you’re just driving pointlessly to be able to buy that race exhaust which is pretty much the best performance upgrade, you also can upgrade your car to top of the highest class it can go to with those tier 4 upgrades.
Some cars should have special versions of them available as rewards for reaching a certain high level. I’ve mentioned this before when it comes to Horizon 5’s car perks because I think it’s one of the best rewards for dedicating time to using a car. Driving around long enough in an R33 GT-R should reward the player with the Nismo 400R, which features even higher bonuses for racing it and the R33 LM Nismo as its progression reward. This would not only make it more worthwhile to spend time driving a certain car, it would also make those special cars be more valuable.
I’m also not happy to grind with every car to get my MP Cars together.
@Banjacked8153
Are you the only one able to make predictions and complain about whst the devs do, how they do and what they will do??
Maybe i confuse you with someone, but i do not got the time to search for those things i’ve read and discuss about it.
But back to the point. I don’t like build your car for reasons. Chris Esaki told this feature will be the heart of Forza Motorsport. Why should i wait to share my complains about that till it’s released, only to fire up a sh*tst0rm then??
Perhaps this only affects single player and not multiplayer? It doesn’t make sense. I have to spend 1000+ hrs doing this? Duplicates too. That’s crazy.
It’s an hour to reach level 30 at which point all upgrades are unlocked for the car.
Unless I mis heard @HokiHoshi on his YouTube video earlier today. He had a Q&A with Chris and Dan
They could as well do something that NFS Unbound did, where the multiplayer progression is separate from singleplayer, though you get to use SP cars in MP. But I really don’t think this is a good idea
This is something I always proposed. This way we could have a very hard but rewarding career mode but in the same time a “Free Play” mode which earns his wording and gives us the free choice to take and upgrade every car to our liking.
But this whole wheel of earning credits, buying cars, earning credits, buying cars etc. feels more and more like a trading card game where you only play to collect new cars instead of a racing game where the most important part is: racing
